Description:
We are currently in search of cast members for a fully voiced audio book following the TS Wieland novel “Sem: Adventures Across Time,” complete with narration and effects.
Our ultimate goal with this new audible project is to not only convert the novel over to audio, but also begin a fan-based subscription through Patreon, allowing for future novels to be converted in the same immersive manner and offer even more opportunities to voice actors across the globe the chance to let their voices be heard.
Actors will be work for hire and paid per chapter (38 Chapters Total), with an opportunity for additional compensation based upon performances and how much support is received on the Patreon page.

What can I say? I love what I do, and I do what I love.
I'm an adventure fiction author from Colorado, with a BA in Visual and Performing Arts, with a long history in both live and stage production. I'm a published novelist and audiobook developer, Global E-Book Nominee, and work as a music studio manager, audio engineer, and producer in Nashville, TN. My biggest aspiration in life is creating works which both inspire and motivate people through stories which we all can relate to in our own ways.
Needing an older sounding, more low toned voice to play Ally's Father. The focus for this role should be conveying heartfelt moments while keeping a very believable presentation.
Father: (Lovingly teasing his daughter after surviving her accident) “You look like you played chicken with a bus, Spark. Didn’t I tell you, never to play in traffic?” |
Ally: “You okay, Dad?” Father: (Coughing) “Yeah... I just need some water,” |
Father: (Heartfelt) “You’ve got your own life to live, Spark. What is it I always said to you when we read all those stories together when you were little?” |
A French farm boy born raised along the outskirts of Lyon in 1348 France, Chris (or Christopher of Matour) comes from a once noble family of lords. After his great grandfather abandoned the Crusades and was labeled by the Pope Urban II as a coward and excommunicated his family from the church, Chris now lives in the shadows of a curse upon his family, seeking to one day redeem his families honor in the eyes of God. Upon meeting our heroes, Sem and Ally, Chris finds the chance of helping them find their lost traveler across time as a chance to reclaim his families honor as the last of his bloodline.
(Confused) “It’s the fifteenth of May. The year of our Lord, 1348. How do you not know what year it is? And once more I ask, what you are doing here?” |
(Boasting) “I figured you two weren’t angels even before I said anything. Everyone knows angels don’t speak English. They speak French,” |
(Serious with his long bow drawn and ready to fight against a whole squad of armed city guards) “I can put an arrow in each in of you before you even cross this dock. My brother stole this bow from a famous archer for the English at the Battle of Sluys. He bestowed it to me, telling me it had killed more French in one day than the pestilence alone. I do not wish to add to its reputation.” |
A victim of the growing future city of New York, Teech stands as the leader of his own small gang of misfits trying to make a living on the streets. Filled with an emotional rage by the loss of his family due to the android revolution, Teech cares strongly for his friends, but even more so for his need to even the score.
(Protective)“You're on our turf, McNeal, and we go wherever we please and beat whomever we please. So, you best get back to your mansion before you become another piece of trash on the sidewalk.” |
Teech: (Enraged)“They destroyed everything!” Narrator: shouted Teech. Zip: “We didn’t have anything for them to destroy. Not like the shop was ours, anyway,” Narrator: replied Zip. Teech stopped and looked over at Zip. His nostrils flared as he huffed. Teech: “No, Zip... I’m not talking about the shop! I’m talking about our lives. First, they replaced us with those robotic slaves. Then they destroyed our homes and took our families with their greed. And now they’ve burned what little we had left! Our lives are gone now because of them.” |
(Angered and Emotional as he points a gun at his rival) “How?! How! It’s because of you my mom died, ‘cause she wasn’t able to pay her medical bills. It’s because of you that my father died after one of those machines of yours replaced his job and he couldn’t provide for us anymore. It’s because of you I was forced to live as a kid eating trash while you built your golden future over our heads.” |
This is a flexible role for minor characters throughout the story, which can have more than one actor.

- Alexander The Great -“Take Cypress and Artemis to the market to buy aid for his wounds and any other supplies they may require. Inform the merchants that the wares will be paid for by me.” |
- Smug Gang Leader - “Marcus McNeal. Pleasure to see you on this side of town. Though I think you're in the wrong place,” |
The role of the narrator will be composed of several long lines of description, requiring a clear and understandable tone of voice.
Ally sat in her chair, looking down at the table. She could only think of one person she wanted to see. Her dad. Never in her life did she long to hear his voice as desperately as she did now. |
Cautiously, Ally stepped out from the doorway and saw the grand foyer below her. The floors were inlaid with polished marble, and white stone columns stood on each side, facing a large, dark, wooden double door at the other end. |
Turning back to watch the gateway shrink behind her, Ally heard tiny raindrops pattering against the top of her helmet. It took a moment of scanning her surrounding through the blue visor before she realized it was night. The air was frigid and damp, the sky mostly dark with an eerie orange glow off to one side. |
The role of Ally is the center of the story, based around her evolution as someone afraid of the unknown, to someone who comes to terms with her fears and finds herself fighting for more than she ever expected. She's a dreamer, strong hearted, and a very open minded person overall. Her voice is timid at times, but strong when her emotions get involved.
-Tired From Running - "Ugh, I feel out of shape. If we’re going to start running everywhere, you should just carry me." |
- Melancholy - "What if I felt the same way? All my life, I’ve been afraid of the unknown, but I still wanted to push myself to go places and see sights I had never imagined. Then when I finally got the chance, all I wanted to do was come home. And now that I’m back, I feel like I turned away from what feels like my destiny. Almost like I let the fear overtake me again." |
- Sarcastically - “Inspiring words, mother. Seriously. Calendar worthy.” |
The role of Sem is one of adventure and tragedy. After losing his family and lover, he continues to do his job with a heavy weight on his heart, which is eventually softened by Ally's love for him. He acts egotistical, but is very clever and brave in everything he does, and shows his true colors when he saves the lives of people on a regular basis. He acts not out of pride, but out of honor and selflessness, wishing for once in he could put himself first.
- Angered by his friend speaking of his dead lover- “You ever compare her to someone else again, I’ll make sure Raz is given guardianship.” |
- Trying To Comfort Ally - "Listen, I know you want to get back in a hurry, but the burden of finding a way home isn’t on you, Ally. It’s on Otto and me." |
- Pained and forced to send away the love of his life - "All this time I thought Otto wanted the ARC. But he wants something else. I’ve never cared about anyone since Erland and Aria left. Endless worlds and countless lives, and not a single one meant anything. Now I have something I care about that’s worth saving." |
The role of Otto is one of a man who's willing to go to the ends of the Earth and back to get back to his wife and two daughters. He's a caring father at heart, smart kind,, and extremely passionate. He has a strong and friendly voice, until his temper starts to get the better of him. At which point, he's not someone you wanna get in the way of.
- Mocking A Friend - “That woman can’t make a chicken salad sandwich to save her skin, but luckily she can’t mess up fruit.” |

The role of Leo is one of a man of politics. He's a charmer, but also someone who worries a bit too much over the little things.
- Worried- “They’re trying, but no one’s listening anymore. We need you back here now!” |
“Sem was chosen and trained to be a guardian because he understands the responsibility it comes with. The only responsibility you ever seem to take on is stressing everyone out.” |
“Of course. I practically live there now defending you two. I’ll try and make a case for you guys, but I don’t know how much good I’ll do.” |
The role of Merek is a character who's known for being very tech savy, but very shy and gentle in all things.
-Worried- “You're running out of time. You need to find him and get back here before the ARC closes on you.” |
The role of Erland is meant for a anyone with an humorous, but wise voice. As Sem's thought to be long dead mentor, Erland is known for his quirky Dad like jokes and humor, but also his wise and mentor attitude, able to break away from his humor to teach a serious lesson. Auditions with either New Zealand or Australian accents will earn extra attention.
“The day I left you and Aria, I never planned to leave you both. The last call I went on seemed normal enough, but as soon as I arrived, I realized it was much more than I could take. It caught me off guard.” |
- Wise and Calm - “Like I said, kid, I’ll tell you about it real soon. First, we need to get you three home,” |
The role of Vila is meant for someone with an old soul. She is very sweet and kind hearted and nurturing all around.
- Aggravated - “If you're not going to eat it, at least throw it away! Next time I’ll thump both of you.” |
The role of Raz is meant for someone with a strong voice, ready to play the seemingly bad guy until the moment is right to show Raz's true colors. Raz is a military head strong person, putting politics and security first, with a stern and drill sergeant like attitude.
“Well, while you two are sipping piña coladas on vacation, who’s going to be looking out for those other worlds?” |

Scene Summary:
During multiple moments in the story, our lead heroes face a vast angry crowd of rescued travelers wanting to be returned to their home worlds a former lives. 1. The crowd of angry travelers has recently learned that they have been lied to by our lead heroes. 2. Our hero faces the crowd before him during his own execution as they shout hateful words of scorn. 3. The angry crowd has gathered at one of the cities many bridges with the intention of destroying the bridge.
(Hateful/Angry/Shouting) "You lied to us! You said there wasn't a way home! You never cared!" |

Mason - Age 67
Once a flyman for one of Londons most popular theater, Mason lives among the rubble and chaos of World War II after his wife recent passing. As he once more takes shelter form the never ending wave of German air raids during London's longest nights, he stumbles upon our heroine time traveler, Ally, and her companion canine, Dublin, standing in the streets of Southwick alone. Wishing to see no harm come to the young woman who is oddly dressed, he brings her into his home and basement bomb shelter where the two of them share a heart to heart talk about love and courage.
(Calling out to Ally standing across the street) “Have a death wish, do ya? What in the bloody hell do you think you're doing standing in the middle of the street during an air-raid?” |
(Watching Ally try to stop her pet dog Dublin from sleeping on the only bed in the bunker) “He’s alright. Bed’s not very comfortable anyway. Bombs keep me up most of the night. Not like Jerry to give us all some peace and quiet for once.” |
(Speaking to Ally as the two of them listen to the bombing continue outside overhead) “So, what’s a young Yankee woman such as yourself doing in Southwick alone? Last I heard you lot had kept your heads down.” |
