A Long Night at Camp Evergreen: A Horror Audio Series
Project Overview
Mari Jones is looking forward to working as a summer counselor for Camp Evergreen. At least, until she finds something in the woods surrounding the camp that threatens the lives of her and her fellow counselors. She’s determined to find the truth and convince everyone that there is something to be afraid of. But will she be too late to save them?
Hello everyone, my name is Holly! Welcome to the paid casting call for ‘A Long Night at Camp Evergreen’. This is a 5 part horror audio series, which is influenced by the Friday the 13th films & Clue: The Movie. The series will be posted on my YouTube channel, ‘Nyxie ASMR’. I’m casting for 8 roles, which are 3 female and 5 male. 2 additional parts are being played by me, so they are not listed here, but for the sake of full disclosure I wanted to mention it.
Audition NotesA majority of characters in this series are LGBT+ and polyamorous. If you are uncomfortable with this, please do not audition.
Content Warning: This series is SFW, but it contains horror elements, strong swearing, and light romance (SFW), so do not audition if you are under the age of 18 or are uncomfortable performing such content.
For recording, I will accept USB or XLR quality microphones only, so don't record with phones, headsets, or built-in computer mics. Please speak clearly and audibly, and ensure your recording space has no background noise or echoes. And, aside from general cleanup, please don’t edit your recordings.
Please give me 2 varied sets of takes, in ABC1 ABC2 format.
When you submit your auditions, please include whether you're over the age of 18, your pronouns, and a method of contact (if you feel comfortable sharing it) so I'm able to contact you if you are chosen.
Note: I only have a free CCC account so I'm not able to message anyone who isn't following me, which is why I ask for a method of contact. But if you don't feel comfortable sharing that here, it's perfectly fine. I'll do my best to find another way to contact you if you're chosen.
I respect your time and effort, which is why I won’t be casting until after the deadline has passed. Just make sure you audition before the deadline at 11:59 PM CT on 7/3/22.
If cast, please note that the scripts for all 5 parts are complete, so there won’t be a waiting period for work to begin. I’ll send out the script for part 1 via email or Discord as soon as you’re confirmed and expect your lines to be submitted to me within 2-3 weeks.
This project is paid, with Mari and Ben’s VAs paid $10 per audio they appear in the series, since they are main characters and have a greater amount of lines. The supporting cast will receive $7 per audio and the minor cast will receive $5 per audio.
If cast, I will render payment via PayPal after your lines for each part are submitted and approved. So your payment won’t be a lump sum, but will be paid out over time as I receive your work.
As far as project credit, I will verbally credit my VAs at the end of each video. Also, in the video description, I’ll list your name and 1 link you’d like to share. I will also credit/tag you when I share the videos on my Twitter account.
Thank you in advance for your interest in auditioning for my project. I wish you the best of luck and look forward to hearing your audition! –Holly

$10 per project/$50 total.
(casual) My name’s Marisha, but I prefer Mari (pronounced Mar-e). Sorry it took me so long to get here. The train was running late and then it took forever for my ride to show up.
(reading) Shocking triple homicide at summer camp. Three counselors were found brutally murdered in their tents at Camp Springwater last night. The police currently have no suspects.
(angry) Look, she might not take this seriously, but I do. I care about my own life so I’m gonna do what I need to do to keep myself safe. Screw her opinion.
He’s chill, effortlessly charming, and always a shoulder you can lean on. In his 20s, bisexual. 50-80 lines per script. Appears in Parts 1-5.
$10 per project/$50 total.
(friendly) I’m Ben, bytheway. Nature counselor slash co-athletics counselor. The actual athletics counselor isn’t here yet. So I’m just getting things ready for when they show up.
(amused) Nah, he’s not my type. I mean, I’m definitely into hot guys and girls, but they have to be hot AND nice or I’m not interested. (flirty) So what about you? What’s your type?
(pacifying) That’s a fair point, but still. Play nice. We’re all stuck together this summer so we need to get along. And starting things off with a fight won’t help us do that, now will it?
She’s the responsible Mom friend, so she can be uptight but she means well. In her 20s. 10-45 lines per script. Appears in parts 1-5.
$7 per project/$35 total.
(friendly) Don’t worry. Even though I’m the head counselor, I promise I won’t be on a power trip. I’m just in charge of training you guys, planning activities for you, and handling any problems that pop up over the summer.
(feeling slightly hurt) Okay, okay. Jeez, no need to be rude. I was just curious.
(defensive) I have fun! I’m the secretary of student senate at my university and I listen to podcasts about improving my communication skills! …What do you mean that’s boring?
He’s a fun, cheerful himbo, so practically everyone likes him. In his 20s, polyamorous and bisexual. 10-60 lines per script. Appears in Parts 1, 3-5.
$7 per project/$28 total.
(cheerful) Hey, there yah go! I hear people are super into dark, spooky stuff these days. Like horror movies! Not me though. (sheepish) That stuff scares me…
(telling a scary story) One summer night, a group of teenagers were together at a friend’s house to celebrate his birthday. They were thinking of something to do when the birthday boy suggested that they play hide and seek outside…
(scared) Oh god. What the hell are we supposed to do now?
He’s grumpy most of the time and can be a jerk if he's annoyed, but he’s loyal, caring and protective towards people he cares about, in a tsundere way of course. In his 20s, polyamorous and bisexual. 10-60 lines per script. Appears in Parts 1, 3-5.
$7 per project/$28 total.
(slightly annoyed) Don’t you have somewhere else to be? Far, far away from here, perhaps? (snarky) Oh you do? Tragic. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out. Or do. I don’t care.
(huff) Yeah, I know you can’t handle horror movies, Ken. You jumped in my lap last time we watched one. (embarrassed) Hey, what the hell? I did NOT like it. Shut up.
(upset but trying to act like he’s not) Where the hell have you been? I was…we were worried sick about you.
She’s authoritative, serious, and far too busy with work to deal with pointless nonsense. Middle aged woman, in her 40s. 10-20 lines per script. Appears in Parts 1-3 & part 5.
$5 per project/$20 total.
(professional) Oh it’s no trouble at all! In fact, I should apologize for not coming to pick you up myself. I’ve just been so busy today.
(frustrated) Are those two roughhousing on the water slide again? If I’ve told them once, I’ve told them a thousand times, that slide is for safe recreation. Not for fighting.
(stern) Instead of wasting my precious time, might I suggest that you stop scaring yourselves with childish ghost stories? There is absolutely nothing to be scared of here.
The local sheriff who's professional and courteous, but would rather do crossword puzzles than work. In his 40s. 21 lines total. Appears in Part 2 only.
$5 per project/$5 total.
(annoyed/distracted) Would you quit bothering me? I told you I’m busy! I’ve gotta figure out the clue on this crossword puzzle.
(pleasant) Now, what are you three youngsters doing here on such a nice, summer afternoon? You should be outside having fun.
(reassuring) I assure you Miss, the Blairstown police department takes threats of violence very seriously.
A friendly, kind-hearted newcomer to the police department. In his 30s. 20-40 lines per script. Appears in Parts 2 & 5.
$5 per project/$10 total.
(friendly) Well sure, I’d be glad to help you. Let me get out my notepad here. Now, what are your names?
(sincere/not joking) You know, she’s right, Sheriff. Words can really hurt. I mean, just the other day a book fell on my head and let me tell you, I’m still feeling it.
(positive) Oh, no need to thank me, ma’am. It’s my job to serve and protect. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve gotta get your statement written down in my report.
