NEW ROLES ADDED (PROFESSOR X CASTED)
Hello, we are now casting roles for William Stryker and Lady Deathstrike. Other roles are still open as well, and a few more will be added.
Hello! My name is Gee, and I'm currently working on a video essay/review of the original X-Men trilogy! It will be a retrospective that looks at the history and will be an analysis of all three films and any tie-in media. Seeing as copyright is a real buzzkill, and I'm a brand new YouTuber, I'll be reinterpreting and/or redubbing scenes from all three movies to help ease my commentary, with added photos as well.
Keep in mind that this is only WAVE ONE of casting choices; I'll do one or two more rounds for other characters as well as side characters. For now, this is the first movie's main mutant cast. I'm not looking for direct impressions of the main actors; I'm open to any types of voices. You don't have to be familiar with X-Men or anything Marvel-related to participate in this project.
All I ask is that you have a solid Microphone or decent recording quality and that the voice provided matches the criteria of the character. Feel free to do multiple takes of all the lines in an AABBCC format. You are free to do your on improvised line as well.
Once your audition is submitted, please feel free to comment your Discord Tag or any other type of social media tag below.
Hello, we are now casting roles for William Stryker and Lady Deathstrike. Other roles are still open as well, and a few more will be added.
I've updated the lines to have emotional connotations to help you all better gauge what tone the read is supposed to convey.
Keep in mind that these are not the only roles that will be offered and that there are other roles Ill offer once I get aat least four landed roles with the main cast.
Including but not limited to William Stryker, Lady Deathstrike, Kitty Pryde, Sentinels, Iceman, Beast and others etc.
Wolverine. The best there is at what he does. The X-Man. This role is sort of the most important one here, besides Xavier and Magneto. I think most people are aware of how his voice typically sounds, so there are plenty of examples to go off of, but I'll provide them anyway. He's a gruff and gritty mutant who's been around for almost every war. He's a little tired, but somehow he's also extremely persistent. That healing factor probably has a bunch to do with it.
You don't need to do an impression of Hugh Jackman's voice or even Steve Blum; it's fine if you don't. I'm open to different interpretations of Logan's voice.
As with all these auditions, I don't mind if someone does their own interpretation of this character rather than trying to sound EXACTLY LIKE the movie version.

I’m The Best There Is At What I Do, But What I Do Best Isn’t Very Nice.
You Know, Sometimes When You Cage The Beast, The Beast Gets Angry.
[Angered] Fight with you? Join the team? Be an 'X-Man'? Who the hell do you think you are? You're a mutant. The whole world out there is full of people that hate and fear you, and you're wasting your time trying to protect them? I got better things to do. [starts to leave, then turns back] You know, Magneto's right: there's a war coming. Are you sure you're on the right side?
Cyclops is a strong-willed leader and has been under the tutelage of Professor Xavier since his early teens. This gives them a sort of father-son relationship. It also affects how he speaks and leads other members of the X-Men. Putting constant pressure on the team and often using insane tactics to push them through the final stretch. Because of his methods, he can come off as well, how Wolverine puts it, a dick- but when you're facing threats that are extremely lethal and could end all of humankind, you'd act kind of like a dick too.
For this voice, I'm looking for someone with a baritone. Someone who can let others know that the stakes are high and could change the way of life for mutants everywhere.
As with all these auditions, I don't mind if someone does their own interpretation of this character rather than trying to sound EXACTLY LIKE the movie version.

[Explanative] All right, we can insert here at the George Washington Bridge, come around the bank just off of Manhattan, land on the far side of Liberty Island, here.. If they have anything that can pick up our jet, they deserve to catch us.
[Command] Storm, fry him!
[Witty, directed at Logan after he insults him] It must burn you up that a boy like me saved your life, huh Logan? Gotta be careful. I might not be there next time. Oh, and Logan - stay away from my girl.
Jean Grey is the team empath and is easily the most emotionally intelligent member of the team. While some would see this as a weakness, it is actually quite a strength (espciallyconsideringsheturnsintoafiregodinthethirdmovie-) AHEM. She can easily understand the pain and hurt that her team members are going through and tries her best to understand them. Even if it causes her a great deal of pain searching through her head.
For this role, I need someone who can convey the stress that Jean goes through with her powerset as well as someone who can sell romantic tension between others. (ala, love triangle with Wolveine and Cyclops)
As with all these auditions, I don't mind if someone does their own interpretation of this character rather than trying to sound EXACTLY LIKE the movie version.

Girls flirt with the dangerous guy, they don't bring him home; they marry the good guy.
Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It is how we have evolved from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.
(A couple of efforts. moans, and groans, as if Jean is using her powers and they are straining her)
Rouge in the movies, compared to her counterpart in the comics, is almost day and night. She's a lot less confident and more unsure of her abilities, which causes her to come off as more meager and meek than the Rouge you see in the comics or the animated series. So, in my reinterpretated scenes, I think we should aim for something with that tone, but more of the anger and energy as seen in X-Men Evolution's adaptation of Anna Marie. (While of course, still maintaining some of that southern twang and charm)
Rouge will still be a young adult/teen in these reinterpreted scenes. So a youthful, pubescent energy is needed.
As with all these auditions, I don't mind if someone does their own interpretation of this character rather than trying to sound EXACTLY LIKE the movie version.

[Sad but Reflective] The first boy I ever kissed ended up in a coma for three weeks. I can still feel him inside my head. It's the same with you.
[Snappy] I don't want to live my whole life without knowing what it's like to touch another human being.
[Witty] Sugah, you have no Idea what mess you've stepped into.
Storm is the confident and courageous co-leader of the X-Men. Whether the movies portrayed that correctly or not is up to the viewer. However, in my reinterpretations of her scenes, she'll get a stronger role and have more interactions and drive in the narrative.
For this role, I'm looking for someone who can convey that strong sense of leadership while also being calm and controlled. Storm demands respect and will earn it regardless if you give it to her or not. She is technically royalty after all.
FOR THIS ROLE, IT IS MUCH PREFERRED THAT THE AUDITIONEE IS OF AFRICAN/AFRICAN AMERICAN DESCENT AS TO BEST REPRESENT THE ETHNCITY OF THE CHARACTER; THOSE WHO DO NOT MEET THAT CRITERION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
As with all these auditions, I don't mind if someone does their own interpretation of this character rather than trying to sound EXACTLY LIKE the movie version.
(This is also a pseudo double role as you'll also have a small part in the video as Storm impersonating Mystique.)

[Snarky, but proud] Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lightning?... The same thing that happens to everything else.
[Sorrowful, mourning Charles Xavier] We live in an age of darkness: a world full of fear, hate and intolerance. But in every age, there are those who fight against it. Charles Xavier was born into a world divided, a world he tried to heal... a mission he never saw accomplished. It seems it's the destiny of great men to see their goals unfulfilled. Charles was more than a leader, more than a teacher. He was a friend. When we were afraid, he gave us strength. When we were alone, he gave us a family. He may be gone, but his teachings live on through us, his students. Wherever we may go, we must carry on his vision. And that is a vision of a world united.
Charles Xavier has known he was a mutant since he was a prepubescent boy. He was given a gift that allowed him to see into the thoughts of others, no matter how good or bad those thoughts were; he could see the bigotry and hatred for mutants with a simple look into their head. Through this, he understands the tumultuous nature of his role as the headmaster of his academy and understands that the missions he sends his students on are dangerous, possibly even more than they can handle. He operates at a level of secrecy that can foster distrust amongst his apprentices, especially Cyclops.
For this voice, I need someone who can convey intelligence and understanding, a teacher. Also needs to be able to handle doing dramatic scenes.
As with all these auditions, I don't mind if someone does their own interpretation of this character rather than trying to sound EXACTLY LIKE the movie version.

Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.
Logan, it's been almost fifteen years, hasn't it? Living from day to day, moving from place to place, with no memory of who or what you are. Give me a chance. I might be able to help you find some answers.
To me my X-Men!
Magneto is a mutant who has experienced so much pain and trauma in his life, from experiencing oppression and subjugation from homo-saipens and has witnessed that same terror pressed onto others. It manifests as anger and hatred of all humankind. He's also clever, conniving, suave, and can manipulate others to his side by using their shared struggle against them
For this role, I need someone who can convey all of that pain and suffering into words while also sounding charming enough to be a convincing villain. Sort of like a wise but clearly sinister grandfather in a sense.
As with all these auditions, I don't mind if someone does their own interpretation of this character rather than trying to sound EXACTLY LIKE the movie version.

[To Senator Kelly] Are you a God-fearing man, Senator? It's such a strange phrase. I've always thought of God as a teacher. As a bringer of light, wisdom and understanding. You see, l think what you really are afraid of is me. Me and my kind. The brotherhood of mutants. It's not so surprising, really. Mankind has always feared what it doesn't understand. Well, don't fear God, Senator, and certainly don't fear me. Not any more.
[Monolouge to Rouge after telling her why he's going to kill her] first saw her in 1949. America was going to be the land of tolerance. Peace...there is no land of tolerance. There is no peace. Not here, or anywhere else. Whole families destroyed, simply because they were born different from those in power. Well, after tonight, the world's powerful will be just like us. They will return home as brothers, as mutants. Our cause will be theirs. Your sacrifice will mean our survival. l'll understand if that comes as small consolation.
[Dejected but inquisitive, to Charles Xaiver] Doesn't it ever wake you in the middle of the night? The feeling that someday they will pass that foolish law, or one just like it, and come for you and your children?
Mystique, as a character, does not get too many lines in the original trilogy. To remedy this, we're going to adapt some of the dialogue in the Junior Novelization as well as the Graphic Novel Adaptations of all the movies.
What I'm looking for in Mystique is something very quiet, cold, and oddly sultry in tone but still very sinister in a way. Sort of like a wicked ASMRist in a way. (Thumbs up if you are actually an ASMRist auditioning for the role!) She rarely talks, so when she does, it immediately grabs one's attention.
It's undecided if I'll filter her voice as they do for Rebecca Romjin's voice; however, if your audition does include a voice filter or some type of voice mod, that is fine.
As with all these auditions, I don't mind if someone does their own interpretation of this character rather than trying to sound EXACTLY LIKE the movie version.

(Disgusted) You know, people like you were the reason I was afraid to go school as a child.
(Seductively) [Based off of this scene https://youtu.be/PDkThOxhgOY?is=corqI8RrKpz4m5IC] No one has ever left a scar quite like you...you know what I want, but what do you want?
[After Wolverine has stabbed her in the Abdomen] (A couple of efforts. moans, and groans) How...did...you know? (L:ast words before collapsing to the ground)
Stryker is a bigot, all the way through. A rather intelligent bigot, but a bigot. He leans so far into his hatred and anti-mutant beliefs that he doesn't care to rationalize them to anybody. If he does, he'll start quoting scripture, of course, being a man of faith.
Stryker has a strong Georgian accent and often uses militaristic lingo. After all, he is literally and metaphorically a soldier, being a Vietnam Veteran, and a warrior for God.

(Monolauge to Xavier) You didn't even have to read my mind. You know, I've been working with mutants as long as you have, Xavier... but the most frustrating thing I've learned is that nobody really knows how many even exist or how to find them - except you. Unfortunately this little potion won't work on you, will it? You're much too powerful for that. Instead we'll go right to the source. Allow me to introduce mutant 143. The fluid secreted by his brain acts as a mind-controlling agent. (Xaiver: Jason. Oh, my God, William. This is your son. What have you done to him?) No, Charles! My son is dead... just like the rest of you.
[Boastful] People don't change Wolverine, you were a animal then, you're a animal now. I just gave you claws.
[Angered] Human!? You dare call...THING--HUMAN?!?
Lady Deathstrike is the mind-controlled second-in-command of William Stryker, another Weapon X experiment, and an intended impostor of Wolverine. Whenever she threatens anybody, she means it as a promise.
Her voice can go from being soft and barritoned to snake-like and sinister, with an emphasis on 'S' or hissing. She still speaks with a proper tone however, she is descended from a long line of honorable men and women after all.
A NATIVE JAPANESE SPEAKER OR SOMEONE WHO CAN UNDERSTAND THE LANGUAGE WOULD BE PREFERRED FOR THIS PROJECT. HOWEVER IF YOU CHOOSE TO READ HER IN LINES IN ENGLISH, THAT WILL BE FINE AS WELL.

(To Wolverine) The Yuriko you knew no longer exists, I am LADY DEATHSTRIKE! A living weapon!
[Sinister] Gaijin dog, for the dishonor you cause my family...you will SUFFER...then you will die!
[Angered] 私はあなたの皮を毛皮として身にまとう (I will carve your skin and wear it as a PELT.)
Bobby Drake is the embodiment of youthful confidence. He is unabashedly mutant and proud and isn't afraid to show it. Despite some of the backlash he might face from his rather anti-mutanr family.
Someone who can sound a little too (literally) cool for school would be perfect for this role.

You should've stayed in school, Pryo!
Logan, this is a school. So that's a no on the beer.
Have you ever wanted to be with someone so badly, but you can't? ...I've seen the way you look at Professor Grey.
Similar to Mystique, we're going to give Psylocke more lines than she ever gets in the actual movie. (The Last Stand)
For this role I'm looking for someone who can pull off a sort of Anarchy in the U.K, punky attitude that comes with this adaptation of the character.

We Morlocks are outcasts, mutants too deformed and unsightly to pass for human on the surface world. Unlike you, we have no choice but to dwell here, away from those who fear us.
I just sensed a mutant, off the charts. Whoever it is, they're more powerful than even you are...I just sensed a mutant, off the charts. Whoever it is, they're more powerful than even you are...
(Fighting Storm) I've never fought someone who's ass fought so hard not to be kicked!
