Vessels: A Short Pilot

Vessels: A Short Pilot

Project Overview

Vessel - Noun

veh·sl

In a literary context, the word "vessel" can refer to a person who has a specific quality or is used for a particular purpose. For example, "As a young and spirited politician, he seems a worthy vessel for the nation's hopes".

The word "vessel" can also mean a person who is infused with a quality, such as grace. For example, "a child of light, a true vessel of the Lord".

Why is this relevant?

The title of the series explains the concept of how one person can be the chosen few, the ones to be the great hope for their own sake. The main character of the story: Kiran, is born with the cure of an unknown plauge that spreads across Fall City. Where, she is the only few that are immune to this. Meanwhile, everyone else, either took shelter or left the city entirely. Or, became hosts/husks of their former selves.

She was already the odd one out of the group, and made herself completely void and deserted from her mind, reminding herself that she was born to be an outcast. Yet, a luckly one at best.

Vessels was written as an analogy of my own anxiety and dark thoughts. Although, the light still shows its cracks. It is also a pretense to show my art skills and make a story.

Character Info:

1. Kiran (The Cure / Protagonist)

Role: The protagonist, cursed with being both the cure and a weapon against the plague. She carries the responsibility of ending a centuries-old plague, but at great personal cost.

Backstory:

- Origin: Kiran comes from a forgotten village, one that fell victim to the plague long ago. She was a child when the plague first ravaged her people, and it was through a mysterious encounter with the god Lorne that she became the “vessel” for the cure.

- Transformation: Kiran didn’t choose this fate—she was marked by Lorne during a fateful encounter. After that, the plague didn’t just vanish; it merged with Kiran, manifesting as a constant, creeping infection that only she can hold in check. Over time, her blood became the antidote, and her life became a tether between the living world and the plague.

- Personality: She’s stubborn, reserved, and often burdened by the knowledge that her very existence holds the balance of life and death. She feels an intense sense of duty but also resentment toward the god that cursed her. She doesn’t view herself as a “hero”—more like a reluctant servant to fate. Her inner conflict comes from her desire for a normal life vs. the burden of carrying the plague within her.

- Abilities: Kiran’s main power lies within her blood. When she draws it, it can both heal and destroy—mimicking the cure she holds, but also capable of spreading the plague if used recklessly. Over time, Kiran learns to control her blood’s power, learning how to manifest it into physical weapons or tools of healing. The plague itself manifests in darker ways—visions, hallucinations, and sometimes even physical deformities (like black veins or scars) that remind her of the curse.

Visual Design:

- Appearance: Pale skin, dark eyes with an almost unnatural, haunting look. Her hair is dark brown with streaks of red (representing the plague’s infection). Her outfit is practical, made of leather and cloth that protects her, but also hints at her cursed nature (perhaps with a motif like blood droplets or small symbols that represent both healing and destruction).

- Symbolism: A mark on her body where Lorne first cursed her—a sigil or brand that glows when the plague's influence is stronger. The mark might also serve as a connection to the god Lorne.

---

2. Korbin (The Guide / Crow)

Role: A guide for Kiran, Korbin serves as her mentor, companion, and protector throughout her journey to face Lorne. Korbin isn’t just any crow; he has a deep connection to the spiritual world, possibly an ancient entity trapped in a crow’s form.

Backstory:

- Origin: Korbin wasn’t always a crow. Once, he was a scholar and priest who worked for a powerful faction that sought to control the ancient gods. During an ill-fated ritual, Korbin attempted to harness the power of Lorne to save his people from a different plague. The ritual backfired, trapping his soul in the body of a crow, with only fragments of his former self remaining.

- Connection to Lorne: Korbin believes Lorne’s curse upon Kiran is a result of a broken pact between the god and his former order. Korbin’s role is to guide Kiran in breaking the cycle and defeating Lorne, but his own knowledge is imperfect. He seeks redemption for his failure and is haunted by the knowledge that his actions helped bring about the plague.

- Personality: Korbin is wise, but also cynical. He has seen the destructive nature of power and the consequences of meddling with gods. He holds a deep respect for Kiran and is very protective of her, though he sometimes hides his concern behind sarcastic remarks or cryptic advice. While he’s a guide, Korbin struggles with his own demons, occasionally revealing hints of guilt or regret over his past actions.

- Abilities: As a crow, Korbin can travel between the realms of the living and the dead, offering Kiran glimpses into the spiritual world. He can communicate telepathically, and his crow form is highly agile and capable of scouting. In his human form (if he chooses to appear), Korbin is a formidable strategist and a minor practitioner of magic. He can manipulate illusions or foresight, helping Kiran in ways that aren’t always clear at first.

Visual Design:

- Appearance: In his crow form, he’s sleek and black with ominous eyes that seem to glow faintly in the dark. His human form (which may only appear at certain times) is lean and aged, with a long coat that gives him an air of mystery. His eyes are sharp, and his movements are often described as being eerily precise, almost like a predator.

- Symbolism: Crows represent death and guidance, and Korbin’s wings could symbolize his connection to the spiritual world. A unique feather or charm, possibly tied to the ritual that cursed him, is often seen hanging around his neck.

---

3. Lorne (The God)

Role: The antagonist, a god responsible for the plague. Lorne is enigmatic and powerful, a being that is as old as the plague itself.

Backstory:

- Origin: Lorne was once a god of balance, overseeing life and death. However, their perception of “balance” became twisted when they began to view creation as something temporary, and destruction as the true force of life. Lorne became obsessed with the concept of erasure and began to sow chaos across the land, bringing with them a plague that wiped out entire civilizations. As a god of destruction, they saw the plague as a “cleansing,” eradicating what they considered to be imperfect life.

- Connection to Kiran: When Kiran’s village resisted the plague, they became an unexpected “vessel” for a cure. Lorne saw this as a threat, and thus cursed her, knowing she was the only one who could end the plague they had set in motion. Now, Kiran and Lorne are locked in a deadly dance of life and death.

- Personality: Lorne is cold, detached, and sees everything as part of a larger cycle of decay and rebirth. They don’t see themselves as evil, but rather as an inevitable force of nature. To them, Kiran and the plague are merely the next stage in existence. Lorne doesn’t hate Kiran; they view her as a necessary obstacle—something to be removed when the time is right.

Abilities: Lorne’s power lies in destruction and entropy. They can decay anything with a mere touch or thought, and their influence spreads like a dark fog, turning the environment around them into a decaying, barren wasteland. Their form can shift depending on their mood or power level, sometimes appearing as a humanoid figure draped in shadow, or as a vast, unknowable entity.

Visual Design:

- Appearance: Lorne’s form is always cloaked in a swirling, dark mist that distorts their true appearance. Their eyes glow like fading stars, and their voice is often heard as a distant echo. In more direct confrontations, they take on a more humanoid, skeletal form, wrapped in tattered robes, with symbols of decay etched into their skin.

- Symbolism: The motif of decay and rot is central to their design. They could have symbols of crumbling, breaking objects like cracked skulls, rotting leaves, or sand slipping through an hourglass.

 4. Father Figure – Alexei

Role: A former mentor or father figure to Kiran, whose life has been irrevocably changed by the plague. His relationship with Kiran could be a source of emotional tension—he was once a protector, but now struggles with the plague's influence.

Backstory:

- Origin: Alexei was the village elder and a skilled healer before the plague came. He was like a second father to Kiran, offering guidance and wisdom as she grew up. When the plague spread, Alexei tried desperately to cure the sick, but the disease eventually took hold of him.

- Plague Affliction: Instead of dying, Alexei’s body became twisted, the plague warping his form. He still clings to his humanity but is a shell of who he once was. Parts of his body decay, and he experiences physical and mental breakdowns, making him a tragic figure. He is partially aware that he has become a vessel of the plague, but his desire to protect Kiran makes him fight against his own decay.

- Relationship with Kiran: Kiran is torn between love and guilt when it comes to Alexei. She wants to save him, but she fears the curse is too far gone. Alexei, on the other hand, wants to help Kiran defeat Lorne, but he knows that his condition might turn him into a liability. There could be moments where Alexei becomes a source of guidance, even in his decaying state, but also times when his physical transformation creates tension.

Personality:

- Alexei is strong-willed, wise, and selfless, with a deep love for Kiran like a father. However, the decay from the plague has made him bitter at times. He may try to hide the full extent of his condition to spare Kiran from the pain of seeing him suffer. He may occasionally fall into despair, doubting whether he can truly protect her.

Abilities:

- Even in his decayed state, Alexei still possesses some remnants of his healing abilities, though they have become corrupted. He can mend wounds but with a risk of transferring the plague, creating a moral dilemma.

Visual Design:

- Alexei is gaunt and disfigured, with his skin rotting in places but still retaining some of his former strength. He may wear a cloak or long robes that help conceal his condition, and his hands could be shaking or have black veins visible. His eyes are sharp and focused, but they occasionally flicker with a sense of confusion or sorrow.

---

 5. Friend/Sibling – Uri

Role: Uri could be Kiran’s best friend or sister, someone who was once Kiran’s closest confidante. Her relationship with Kiran will add an emotional layer to the story, especially with the plague pushing them apart.

Backstory:

- Origin: Uri was Kiran’s childhood friend, or possibly her sister, before the plague struck. They shared everything growing up, from secrets to hopes for the future. Uri is more hopeful and idealistic than Kiran, believing that there’s always a way to fight against fate.

- Connection to the Plague: Uri was once an innocent bystander who got caught up in the plague’s path. After becoming infected, she’s been fighting to keep her humanity, trying to find a cure even if it means putting herself at risk. She could be a secret ally to Kiran or even a rival in some sense, trying to find a way to defeat Lorne on her own terms.

- Relationship with Kiran: Uri’s presence can be a source of both strength and tension. She wants to help Kiran, but because she’s still struggling with the plague, her ability to assist is limited. Kiran might have to choose between saving Uri or focusing on her mission to end the plague. Their relationship could be tested by betrayal, guilt, or the unbearable pressure of the circumstances.

Personality:

- Uri is determined, optimistic, and a fighter—qualities that often put her at odds with Kiran’s more resigned, burdened nature. She’s headstrong and brave, sometimes to the point of recklessness. She doesn’t like relying on others and will often push Kiran to confront her own fears.

Abilities:

- Due to the plague’s curse, Uri has developed strange powers, like the ability to control and manipulate the decay around her. She can cause things to wither or break apart, but this power also carries a risk—it could consume her very soul if she’s not careful. She’s a tragic figure, always walking the fine line between saving others and succumbing to the plague.

Visual Design:

- Uri has a youthful and energetic appearance, with messy, dark hair and vibrant eyes. However, signs of the plague are beginning to take hold—perhaps her skin is starting to show signs of infection (like dark spots or veins), but she tries to hide it with makeup or clothing. Her attire could be a mix of practical and ragged, with armor or bandages over her body to protect herself.

---

 6. Ally – Colt (The Outsider)

Role: A former mercenary or wanderer who becomes an unlikely ally to Kiran and Korbin. Colt’s backstory and motivations could provide some interesting conflict, as he may have ties to the forces that originally brought about the plague.

Backstory:

- Origin: Colt was a mercenary who once fought in the wars between the various factions of gods and mortals. After the plague began, he became a wanderer, losing his purpose and searching for meaning. He could be drawn into the conflict either out of necessity or a desire to redeem his past.

- Connection to Kiran: Colt may have heard of Kiran’s power and sees her as a potential ticket to a cure, either for himself or for others who are suffering. He doesn’t trust her at first, viewing her as another tool to be used, but eventually, he becomes a true ally. His knowledge of the world outside Kiran’s village can be crucial for their journey.

Personality:

- Colt is tough, pragmatic, and doesn’t waste time on sentimentality. He’s seen too much in his life to believe in idealistic solutions, and this sometimes causes friction with the more hopeful characters like Uri. He’s loyal but emotionally distant, preferring to keep people at arm’s length.

Abilities:

- A skilled fighter, Colt is adept with various weapons—particularly swords or daggers. He also has a knack for survival and tracking, skills that come in handy when they need to navigate the wastelands or enemy territory.

Visual Design:

- Colt is rugged, with a stubbled jaw and a hardened look. He wears practical armor that has seen better days, and his eyes are sharp, always scanning the horizon for danger. His clothes are a mix of worn-out leather and cloth, and he carries a few trophies or trinkets from past battles as mementos.

---

 7. Nox (The Shamanic Ally or Guide)

Role: Nox could be an ally of Korbin, perhaps a shaman or spirit guide who helps Kiran along her journey. They could be the key to unlocking the spiritual aspects of the plague and the true nature of Lorne.

Backstory:

- Origin: Nox is an ancient spirit or shaman who has seen many plagues and gods come and go. They could be tied to a long-forgotten order or civilization that worshipped the balance between life and death. Nox seeks to prevent the complete destruction of life, but they are deeply connected to the land’s spiritual essence, which has also been tainted by the plague.

- Personality: Nox is calm, introspective, and speaks in cryptic riddles. They are always thinking several steps ahead and can see things others cannot. Their motives are difficult to understand, but they are not necessarily good or evil—just another force in the world that seeks equilibrium.

Abilities:

- Nox has the ability to communicate with spirits and otherworldly beings. They can also perform rituals that can cleanse or channel energy. Their powers, however, come at a cost, as interacting with the spirit world requires sacrifices and creates dangers for them and those around them.

Visual Design:

- Nox could have an ethereal, otherworldly appearance—perhaps their features shift depending on the angle, with glowing eyes and tattoos or markings that seem to move on their skin. Their clothing is elaborate, like a ceremonial robe adorned with feathers, bones, and symbols.

---

8. Additional Characters (Antagonists / Allies)

- The Heralds of Lorne: Lorne’s followers—cultists, twisted beings, or even former gods corrupted by Lorne’s influence. These characters could act as minibosses or antagonistic forces that Kiran and Korbin encounter on their journey.

- The Last Priest of the Old Order: A figure who once served in Korbin’s order, now a broken man who has fallen under the influence of Lorne. He could be a tragic figure who was once a protector of the people but is now an agent of decay.

- Husk/Hosts: These are people or creatures infected by the plague but not dead, transformed into horrific, mindless beings that are neither alive nor completely dead.

 Basic Synopsis:

Vessels tells the story of Fall City, a small, beautiful island nestled between North America and Europe, inhabited by 10,000 people. This city, with its lovely mountains and rivers, was in great bloom in the late 1990s, as if shielded from the conflicts of the outside world. Fall City was a place of tranquility, with its scenic landscapes and people living together in harmony. However, this tranquility is torn asunder when an ancient and vengeful force, known only as Lorne, unleashes the devastating "Daimonikós Plague."

The Daimonikós Plague is a supernatural affliction that takes gradual hold of the city, afflicting the minds and bodies of its citizens. Those who are stricken by the plague have been twisted by the dark influence of Lorne, taking twisted demonic versions of themselves, devoid of any aspect of themselves previously. With the relentless progression of the plague, the city of Fall has degraded into chaos as full families and communities are swept up within its horrible results. The city, once full of life and vigor, now starts to rot from within, and the population starts to dwindle rapidly.

Among the infected, there is one shining hope: Kiran, a young girl who has mysteriously remained immune to the plague. She is believed to be the cure, a vessel of power capable of halting the corruption that has consumed the city. But despite reluctance on her part to accept such a burden, Kiran's fate is closely entwined with Fall City's survival. Her conscience tormented by being left as the last hope for humanity, Kiran embarks upon the perilous journey to track down the source of the plague and confront the unknown god named Lorne.

Her story unfolds into a path with immense emotional and physical distress at every step. The city that once pulsed with life, the only ones remaining are the infected. Where the lush mountains and rivers once symbolized peace, they are now reminders of what's lost. With Kiran being the last hope of the city, he steps into the heart of darkness, not only against the plague but also the god behind it.

Despite the devastation, Kiran's journey shows more about the nature of Lorne and the true origin of the Daimonikós Plague. As she unravels the mystery behind the affliction, she learns the plague is not just a physical curse but a manifestation of the god's vengeful desires-a punishment for some forgotten transgression. Kiran is undeterred, however, knowing full well that to end the nightmare and restore Fall City, he will have to face even the god that had wished upon its destruction.

Ultimately, Vessels is a tale of sacrifice, redemption, and the eternal struggle between light and darkness. As Kiran tries to find her way through the ruins of Fall City, she must come to terms with her own fears, doubts, and desires, while also learning the true nature of the power within her. It is not just a question of survival but one of self-discovery, pursuing hope in a world eaten away by despair. In her hands rests the fate of Fall City, and with each step, she edges closer to a confrontation with the god Lorne, whose anger promises to destroy all Kiran holds dear. Inspirations

Artstyle:

Some of the Rough Visuals/Art are inspired by Derek Hess; as this incorporates gritty, raw, and intense art inspired by Derek Hess' style, which can be unsettling to some due to its unrefined, chaotic nature. I find this style fitting to the dark and raw theme to Vessels.

Hess’ work conveys deep emotional and psychological struggles (As he has bipolar disorder and dual diagnosis, which is having addiction and mental health issues), often showing characters on the verge of collapse or in extreme states of distress. Kiran’s emotional journey in Vessels is one of profound inner conflict as she faces not only the external horror of the plague but also the burden of being humanity's last hope. Hess' ability to portray emotional vulnerability and psychological anguish would resonate with Kiran's internal battles, visually reflecting her struggle to accept her destiny and the torment of being the only one left to fight.

Hess often uses jagged, aggressive lines in his artwork, which can evoke a sense of unease and anxiety. This line work is integral to the visual tone of Vessels. As Fall City falls into ruin, the sharp, violent strokes of the plague's spread could be depicted in similar fashion, emphasizing the uncontrollable nature of the plague and the overwhelming destruction it causes. The harshness of the line work also mirrors Kiran’s emotional journey, where each step feels like a battle against both the plague and her own sense of hopelessness.

While Hess is often known for a dark palette, he also uses bold colors to accentuate moments of emotional intensity. In Vessels, this can be used to highlight the juxtaposition between the beauty of Fall City in its prime and the rotting decay as the plague spreads.

Derek Hess’ art style brings to life the tortured, decaying world of Vessels in a way that matches its themes of destruction, decay, and internal struggle. The emotional intensity, the distorted human figures, and the chaotic, vivid use of color would effectively communicate how it overshadows the theme its going for.

Media:

Vessels is especially a child of its inspirations: the world-building, the themes, and character dynamics from games such as Dusk, Faith: The Unholy Trinity, Half-Life 2, and The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, not to mention media like Zombieland and Bone. Here's how these influences manifest within Vessels:

Dusk: Dusk is a retro-inspired first-person shooter with a focus on atmospheric tension, eerie visuals, and visceral combat. In Vessels, the haunting transformation of Fall City into a decaying ruin mirrors the way Dusk creates an environment of oppressive dread through its dark, decaying levels. The contrast between the serene beauty of Fall City in its prime and the chaotic, infected state of the city reflects the sudden shift in tone similar to the environments in Dusk, where unsettling settings punctuate moments of brief safety.

Half-Life 2: The idea of a once-thriving city now under the thumb of a malevolent force resonates with Half-Life 2, especially with the setting of City 17, where an alien race exerts control over a dilapidated society. In Vessels, the plague sweeping through Fall City and transforming its citizens into demonic versions of themselves mirrors the dystopian collapse seen in Half-Life 2, where resistance fighters must traverse a bleak urban landscape ruled by a controlling, all-encompassing entity (in Half-Life 2, the Combine). Both games depict a place where the environment tells the story of a once-glorious city now on the brink of collapse.

Oblivion: The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion's open world, combined with the themes of corruption and the Daedric influence, is reflected in Vessels’ story. The concept of a divine force (Lorne) manipulating reality and the environment of Fall City recalls the Daedric Princes in Oblivion, where realms are twisted by powerful entities. Both games feature a protagonist tasked with unraveling the mysteries behind apocalyptic events and confronting powerful beings responsible for these disasters. Additionally, the emotional and physical distress of the protagonist (Kiran) parallels the internal struggles of Oblivion’s hero, who must also balance moral choices while navigating a collapsing world.

Faith: The Unholy Trinity: This indie horror game is known for its minimalist pixel art, religious overtones, and creeping sense of unease. Vessels shares this tone of dread, using a supernatural plague (the Daimonikós Plague) that twists not only the bodies but also the minds of Fall City's inhabitants. Like Faith, Vessels plays with the theme of a malevolent force that manipulates or controls people, with Kiran navigating through infected, hostile environments, often trying to protect her sanity and moral compass in the face of overwhelming corruption.

Zombieland: While Zombieland is more of a comedic take on the zombie apocalypse, its portrayal of the societal collapse and the journey of survivors in a world taken over by a mindless, horrifying infection draws direct inspiration. The idea of survivors in a crumbling, dangerous world with nowhere to turn and nowhere safe is reflected in Kiran’s role as one of the last uninfected humans, desperately trying to survive amidst the ruins of Fall City. There’s a similar focus on how people react to their new reality and the psychological toll of being trapped in an apocalyptic scenario.

Bone: Jeff Smith’s Bone is a blend of whimsical fantasy and darker, epic themes. The Vessels storyline shares some thematic elements with Bone, such as the protagonist’s reluctant journey and the overarching narrative of confronting a dark, supernatural force. While Bone's approach is more lighthearted at times, it still focuses on personal sacrifice and the weight of responsibility, particularly through the journey of the main characters as they deal with powerful forces much larger than themselves. This is echoed in Kiran’s journey, where her role as the last hope for Fall City forces her to grow and face the ultimate moral and existential struggles in the battle against The Unknown God.

Music:

"Vessels" draws a lot of its inspiration from the atmospheric, emotional, and dynamic qualities found in the music of Sleep Token, Loathe, and Deadmau5, particularly albums like Where's the Drop? and Polar.

Sleep Token: Sleep Token's music is known for its blend of heavy, haunting soundscapes and ethereal, almost spiritual melodies. The band’s ability to transition between explosive, dark heaviness and soft, melodic moments mirrors the emotional and physical turmoil in Vessels. Just like Sleep Token's music takes listeners on a journey from tranquility to chaos, Vessels presents the story of a peaceful city falling victim to a dark and destructive force, with moments of quiet beauty juxtaposed with unsettling terror. Sleep Token’s thematic focus on the struggle between light and darkness, faith and doubt, aligns perfectly.

Loathe: Loathe's music, particularly their blend of metalcore with atmospheric, almost progressive elements, captures a similar sense of internal and external struggle found in Vessels. The band’s ability to shift between intensely heavy, crushing moments and more ambient, melodic passages mirrors the world of Fall City, where the physical and emotional landscapes shift from beauty to decay. Loathe's aggressive yet contemplative sound embodies the chaos and destruction it has from its lore. The tension between serenity and devastation found in Loathe's music mirrors the societal collapse Kiran must confront, both externally and within herself.

Deadmau5: Deadmau5’s albums like Where’s the Drop? and Polar present a unique blend of atmospheric, electronic music with a strong sense of mood and tension. These albums are known for their slow, methodical build-ups, which create an immersive, contemplative atmosphere—an aesthetic that fits the story of Vessels as it slowly unveils the tragic fate of Fall City. Where’s the Drop? focuses on long, evolving compositions, which parallel Kiran’s gradual realization of the true nature of the Daimonikós Plague and the city’s decay. The electronic textures and immersive sound design in Deadmau5's work can reflect the moments of tension and release mirror the psychological and emotional battles Kiran faces. Meanwhile, Polar, with its more cinematic, cinematic qualities, enhances the world-building in Vessels, allowing the setting of Fall City to feel both expansive and deeply intimate.

Vessels is still a work in progress, so things will change and shift a bit. It is also my first time creating a full series based off of nothing but inspiration

I also want to give a huge shoutout to all of my friends and family for supporting me during this time I make this, as this and my artwork is my passion.

    Hey everyone!
I want to give an update that the deadline has been pulled back from the 17th to the 10th.
There is a good reason why: I have found most of the VA's I needed, and it can give me time to get everyone in the same Discord server as it is the weekend. I am still keeping it open for the time being just in case if any other VA's I like fit the role, despite the listing expiring in the 7th.
I will assign the VA's as soon as the casting ends, and I will connect with the cast to record the lines.
If there is any concerns or any questions you have, please do let me know! (My Email is [email protected])

Role assigned to: AlexChungVO

Role assigned to: Sloth

- Personality: Nox is calm and introspective.

They are also a well known medic in the Fall City as they had studied in the medical field.

Lorne

Role assigned to: aBox

The Last Priest of the Old Order (Elyan)

Role assigned to: Zack

Role: A figure who once served in Korbin’s order, now a broken man who has fallen under the influence of Lorne. He could be a tragic figure who was once a protector of the people but is now an agent of decay. And is one of the few obstacles that Kiran faces during her unwilling mission.

- Origin: Elyan hailed from a once-flourishing city that was the beating heart of Korbin’s order. As a devoted priest, he was a protector of the people, upholding the tenets of hope, healing, and righteousness. However, when the plague hit, Elyan's faith was tested. He lost everything—his congregation, his sanctuary, and most importantly, his belief in the very principles he vowed to uphold. This caused him to fall into Lorne's grasp and claim himself as the reverend, as Korbin was nowhere to be found…

- Transformation: Elyan’s fall began when he encountered the enigmatic god Lorne during a moment of deep despair. Rather than a savior, Lorne offered Elyan a twisted form of salvation, granting him the dark power of decay and corruption. Marked by this influence, Elyan transformed into a vessel of despair. No longer a protector, he became a harbinger of decay, as he preached false hopes to everyone as the Daimonikós plague grew.

- Personality: Once noble and compassionate, Elyan is now a tragic figure, fanatical and self-loathing as he has a drive and dark motivation. He feels a deep conflict within himself; a part of him longs to reclaim his former self and restore hope, while another part is seduced by Lorne's power, reveling in the chaos it brings as he follow’s the orders and watches the world burn… or rather city. Elyan is cynical and withdrawn, often wrestling with the haunting memories of his past life. He struggles with feelings of worthlessness, viewing himself as a follower and a danger to society, rather than a true agent of change.

- Appearance: Elyan possesses a gaunt yet striking appearance, with weathered, pale skin and deep-set eyes that flicker with a haunting shade of violet, reflective of Lorne’s sinister influence. His once-lustrous hair is now a disheveled mane of ashen gray. He wears a tattered, dark robe lined with muted hues that evoke a sense of foreboding—a stark contrast to the priestly garments of his past. The robe is adorned with symbols of decay and erosion, hinting at his tragic transformation. Elyan bears a dark sigil on his chest, the mark left by Lorne. This sigil is both a curse and a symbol of his connection to Lorne, binding him to divine influence while simultaneously acting as a weight of guilt he can never escape.

  • Y-Yes! I understand that the plans of dominion are underway, but we need a bit more time. I-I heard from the angels above that someone is trying to prevent it.

  • You cannot tell me what to do, Brother Korbin! A transcendent reckoning is near! And you… you will be the sacrifice to cement my ascendance!
