Vessels: A Short Pilot
Zack for The Last Priest of the Old Order (Elyan)
Role: A figure who once served in Korbin’s order, now a broken man who has fallen under the influence of Lorne. He could be a tragic figure who was once a protector of the people but is now an agent of decay. And is one of the few obstacles that Kiran faces during her unwilling mission.
- Origin: Elyan hailed from a once-flourishing city that was the beating heart of Korbin’s order. As a devoted priest, he was a protector of the people, upholding the tenets of hope, healing, and righteousness. However, when the plague hit, Elyan's faith was tested. He lost everything—his congregation, his sanctuary, and most importantly, his belief in the very principles he vowed to uphold. This caused him to fall into Lorne's grasp and claim himself as the reverend, as Korbin was nowhere to be found…
- Transformation: Elyan’s fall began when he encountered the enigmatic god Lorne during a moment of deep despair. Rather than a savior, Lorne offered Elyan a twisted form of salvation, granting him the dark power of decay and corruption. Marked by this influence, Elyan transformed into a vessel of despair. No longer a protector, he became a harbinger of decay, as he preached false hopes to everyone as the Daimonikós plague grew.
- Personality: Once noble and compassionate, Elyan is now a tragic figure, fanatical and self-loathing as he has a drive and dark motivation. He feels a deep conflict within himself; a part of him longs to reclaim his former self and restore hope, while another part is seduced by Lorne's power, reveling in the chaos it brings as he follow’s the orders and watches the world burn… or rather city. Elyan is cynical and withdrawn, often wrestling with the haunting memories of his past life. He struggles with feelings of worthlessness, viewing himself as a follower and a danger to society, rather than a true agent of change.
- Appearance: Elyan possesses a gaunt yet striking appearance, with weathered, pale skin and deep-set eyes that flicker with a haunting shade of violet, reflective of Lorne’s sinister influence. His once-lustrous hair is now a disheveled mane of ashen gray. He wears a tattered, dark robe lined with muted hues that evoke a sense of foreboding—a stark contrast to the priestly garments of his past. The robe is adorned with symbols of decay and erosion, hinting at his tragic transformation. Elyan bears a dark sigil on his chest, the mark left by Lorne. This sigil is both a curse and a symbol of his connection to Lorne, binding him to divine influence while simultaneously acting as a weight of guilt he can never escape.

[he sighs] It's been awhile, hasn’t it? Time seems to have lots of meaning. But, maybe. Just maybe the gods can help us during this time.
Y-Yes! I understand that the plans of dominion are underway, but we need a bit more time. I-I heard from the angels above that someone is trying to prevent it.
You cannot tell me what to do, Brother Korbin! A transcendent reckoning is near! And you… you will be the sacrifice to cement my ascendance!
