Role: A former mentor or father figure to Kiran, whose life has been irrevocably changed by the plague. His relationship with Kiran could be a source of emotional tension—he was once a protector, but now struggles with the plague's influence.  

Backstory:  

- Origin: Alexei was the village elder and a skilled healer before the plague came. He was like a second father to Kiran, offering guidance and wisdom as she grew up. When the plague spread, Alexei tried desperately to cure the sick, but the disease eventually took hold of him.  

- Plague Affliction: Instead of dying, Alexei’s body became twisted, the plague warping his form. He still clings to his humanity but is a shell of who he once was. Parts of his body decay, and he experiences physical and mental breakdowns, making him a tragic figure. He is partially aware that he has become a vessel of the plague, but his desire to protect Kiran makes him fight against his own decay.  

- Relationship with Kiran: Kiran is torn between love and guilt when it comes to Alexei. She wants to save him, but she fears the curse is too far gone. Alexei, on the other hand, wants to help Kiran defeat Lorne, but he knows that his condition might turn him into a liability. There could be moments where Alexei becomes a source of guidance, even in his decaying state, but also times when his physical transformation creates tension.

Personality:  

- Alexei is strong-willed, wise, and selfless, with a deep love for Kiran like a father. However, the decay from the plague has made him bitter at times. He may try to hide the full extent of his condition to spare Kiran from the pain of seeing him suffer. He may occasionally fall into despair, doubting whether he can truly protect her.  

Abilities:  

- Even in his decayed state, Alexei still possesses some remnants of his healing abilities, though they have become corrupted. He can mend wounds but with a risk of transferring the plague, creating a moral dilemma.  

Visual Design:  

- Alexei is gaunt and disfigured, with his skin rotting in places but still retaining some of his former strength. He may wear a cloak or long robes that help conceal his condition, and his hands could be shaking or have black veins visible. His eyes are sharp and focused, but they occasionally flicker with a sense of confusion or sorrow.
