Team Xaro: Yugioh Zexal Full English Dub

Team Xaro: Yugioh Zexal Full English Dub

Project Overview

So after much begging I have convinced my good friend over at Team Xaro to have us do a dub of the Japanese version of Yugioh Zexal as it's a show near and dear to my heart that I really want to make into a great and enjoyable show more than what we got in the 4Kids dub. The project probably won't happen for a while but I decided on getting the casting call started in order to recruit some new people to Team Xaro so if you are cast and not already a member of Team Xaro then you will be invited to the server. More roles will be added later on.

Rules:

Good Mic- Pretty much standard at this point, I prefer mics such as XLR's or a good USB mic, now it doesn't have to be studio quality but make sure I can clearly hear you.

Dedication- Long project guys and I will do my best to see this through and get this in full swing once the director of Team Xaro is fully ready to fully do the dub so be prepared to stay till the end and no backing out if cast!

Have fun- I want you guys to have fun getting to dub Yugioh Zexal and actually make it into an actual enjoyable uncut anime for english speaking audiences so please try to find the fun in doing this.

For Astral what I'm looking for is something similar to his non-official Viz voice actor Liam O'Brian but you can also go for sounding like his Japanese voice actor, Marc Thompson or do your own take. For pitch I’d say Med-deep.
Character Description:

Although Astral has amnesia, he has a very intelligent and calm attitude when it comes to Dueling. Even in disastrous situations, he does not seem to lose his cool and can think of a strategy to get out of it. Outside this, arguably because of his memory loss and sudden arrival to another world, he is curious to the point of naivety, for matters as simple as eating, going to the bathroom,[20] or believing that TV shows are real.[21] His naivety would go to such extent so as to ask Yuma why "he needs to be alone" when Yuma's in the bathroom, to which he replies by saying that anyone who sees him in there would "die" (in the dub, Yuma says that that someone would turn into a "guinea pig") otherwise, a thing that Astral took literally.[20]

When he "discovers" things, he has an habit of saying "observation number one, two, three" (which used to annoy Yuma) and then speak the result of his analysis; the fact that he can successfully continue the counting throughout the series implies he has great memory. Astral's observations stopped after their first Duel with Kite Tenjo, which left him quiet and depressed.[22] However, after their Duel with Fortuno, which restored his and Yuma's confidence, his observations returned. In the dub, this observation came with a "sub-observation" that he labelled #13-A.[23] As Astral continues to learn about the human world, he showed great interest of feelings and friendship from observing Yuma and becoming more human in the process. During a Duel with Vetrix, Yuma started to eat the rice balls that Tori gave him prior to the Duel which allowed Astral, who was fused with him to feel the sensation of eating for the first time. He felt incredibly energetic and lively by the taste of the rice balls, stating he wanted to eat "two, or three" more of them, while cheerfully saying that being Yuma has been fun in a rather comedic instance.[24]

Astral has a fear of cats, which he defended by claiming that he hadn't done any observations about them,[5] but seems to gotten over it later on.[25] After Dueling with Kite Tenjo for the first time, he developed a strong fear towards him, so he always tries to tell Yuma to run from Kite instead of fighting him, to the point of telling Yuma to forget his friends. He first denied that he was afraid of Kite, but later admitted.[26] Later during the Duel with Fortuno, Astral overcame his fear and decided to actually fight. After he and Yuma thought about their previous Duels, stating they came too far to lose now, Yuma called Astral his friend, restoring his fighting spirit.[23]

During their duels, Astral often says "The winning formula is complete" whenever he and Yuma are ready to make their comeback.

Usually stoic and cool, Astral does not smile much, but he smiled for the first time when Yuma recognized him as his comrade.[23] Afterwards, Astral begins to smile more often at Yuma since then and even cheered him on with his friends and family when he was trying to do his 20-stack challenge.[27] He still retain his withdrawn nature and tendency to keep his most of thoughts to himself. When observing and learning things unknown and important to him, Astral will only voice speculations once he gathers more evident proof or when a problem presents itself, such as telling Yuma about the world inside the Emperor's Key only after gaining a handful of "Numbers" cards and learning of its origins.[8]

Later, Yuma pointed out that Astral was starting to act like him, more daring and willing to take risks, much to Astral's denial.[28]

  • (Serious) "If you use Gagaga Magician with Gogogo Golem you'll be able to use them to summon a powerful monster known as XYZ, make sense?"

  • (Aware) "The pieces of my memories, the "Numbers", cause the darkness and desires in the hearts of those who touch them to be amplified."

  • (Determined) "When two distant souls become one, the power of Zexal is revealed!"

For Tori I’m looking for anything really, you can base it off Eileen Stevens, Cassandra Lee Morris, her Japanese VA, or do your own thing honestly. For pitch med high-med.

Character Description:

Tori is a very cheerful girl with the ability to manipulate computers, as demonstrated when Flip framed Yuma and she discovered the whole fiasco. She is protective and fiercely loyal to Yuma, as shown in episode 5 when she believed in him despite the fact that there was "undeniable evidence" against him and how she never laughed at Yuma when he challenged the impossible; she admires his unwavering will and determination of constantly challenging himself. Despite the fact that Tori sometimes gets annoyed by Yuma's naivety and childish outbursts, she appears to harbor a deep crush on Yuma, evidenced by how she blushes and becomes slightly angered when Yuma talks about Cathy (as well as arguing with her over him) or when she smiles at Yuma's antics. Tori is also shown to worry about Yuma's safety when hearing that the "Number" cards are dangerous.[3]

After Yuma starts to give up hope when the Emperor's Key is stolen, Tori is so worried about Yuma that she helps him get back to his senses by slapping him. This sense of worry increases greatly when she screams out Yuma's name in despair, thinking he didn't make it out of Kite's hideout when it exploded. When he appeared, she cycled through being happy and annoyed, tears in her eyes the whole time.[4]

She also blushes when Yuma grabs her hand as the two of them run away from Anna, or when Anna talks about her feelings for Yuma.[5] The latter is accompanied by the sound of a heavy heartbeat when Tori's shocked face is shown.

When Tombo Tillbitty said he wanted to make Tori the image girl of the tomato amusement park he wanted to create (an idea of which Tori clearly wasn't very fond of) Yuma stepped in and said he would not let that happen showing a hint of jealousy of Tombo's interest in her, making Tori blush and touched that he cares for her. When it turned out that he just had an extreme aversion to tomatoes, she was a bit disappointed. Also in the same episode, there are slight hints that Tori cooks meals for Yuma too, given from some of their conversations.[6] In episode 51, she appears to have low tolerance for roller coasters, or at least moving on very high speeds indicated by how she was screaming during acceleration, holding on to Yuma's arm and telling him to slow down.

Tori is also shown to have an extremely strong resolve and can be unrelenting at times. One example of this is during Yuma's Duel with Fender, as she is knocked down several times as she tries to return the Emperor's Key to Yuma, however she always got back up again in order to help Yuma.

  • (Confused) “XYZ summon? What is that?”

  • (Annoyed) Yuma! Don’t ever scare me like that again!”

  • (Cheerful) “That’s right! Go get em Yuma!”

For Tetsuo I think I’d prefer more of a unique take for him, I did like his English VA's but maybe lets try something new, but feel free to base it off any of his other VA’s if you want to. For pitch, Med-med deep.

Character Description:

Bronk is quite a competitive and adamant person who takes pleasure in other people's embarrassment, even if it is his own friends; much like the times when he makes Yuma get worked up and challenge events which he can't win, which ends up in Bronk and the other classmates laughing.

He is also a strong-willed person who doesn't like to show his emotions, like when he obtained the broken piece of Yuma's pendant and said he just "came across it", when Shark had clearly kicked it into a small forest near their school (in the English dub, he flatly states that he went looking for it). Despite this, he seems to have friendly rivalry with Yuma, as he tends to be on Yuma's side and though doesn't always believe that he'll be able to turn around his Duels, he supports Yuma most of the time.

Bronk seems to have an incredibly strong will. When Yuma was possessed by Number 96, he used Yuma's "Number 39: Utopia" to save him, and was quickly able to shake off the corrupting effect that strikes most Numbers users via the Emperor's Key).

He also developed a crush on Rio Kastle not long after meeting her, and this has continued to persist, unlike the initial attractions from the other students. He also shows more control of himself around her as the series progressed.

  • (Upset) “Kotori you don’t understand! Yuma promised he wouldn’t XYZ summon during his duel against Shark but he lied to us! I don’t need to be involved with him!”

  • (Confused) “Yuma are you really sure you want to trust me with Emperor Hope?”

  • (Infatuated) “Wow Rio’s such a beautiful angel!”

Shark / Ryoga Kamishiro

Role assigned to: nullify

For Shark he has a pretty aggressive sounding voice that’s kind of over the top, he at first sounds more kinda like a bully character but he becomes a bit more mellow after his first duel with Yuma so take that into consideration. You can base it off his bang zoom VA Vic Mignona, Gary Mack, his Japanese, or put your own spin on him. For pitch I’d say around Med- med deep.

Character Description:

Shark can be classified as a typical loner, being indifferent and cool about most things, usually sporting a stoic face or scowl. He prefers to be alone and doesn't follow a crowd, as his encounters with Yuma and others are often brief before he walks off. He also has displayed little interest in school, having had stopped going to Heartland Academy after his loss to Yuma.[13] He still skipped class regardless when he decided to come back and would idly spend his time on the school's roof, but is said to be good at studying.[14] Despite Shark's aloof and cold nature, many students at school respect his Dueling skills and he's secretly popular with female students,[15] however Rio mentions that he is still disliked and feared by other students.[16] Shark is shown to have a soft side, but has only shown it to two people - his sister and Yuma. Regardless of this, he can be insensitive and callous to both, causing fighting and arguing between them, especially when Rio brings up his strange fear of onions.

After being disqualified from the National Duel Circuit, Shark became bitter and uncaring, the way he held himself at the beginning of the series. Cold and malicious, Shark flaunts his power by taking the Decks of the people he defeats, making them squirm in the process, such as when he defeated Bronk Stone.[1] When he becomes possessed by the "Numbers", he becomes quite violent, destroying the scenery surrounding him throughout his first Duel against Yuma, and also defeating several Duelists brutally when he was briefly possessed by "Number 32: Shark Drake.[17][18]

However, he does have some honor, as he returned Bronk's Deck upon losing to Yuma as he promised and keeping all the Decks he'd stolen from people completely intact.[17] His first defeat to Yuma has humbled him in a way that he is no longer overly cruel to people, as shown when he returns Yuma's pendant after winning an Ante Duel with it at stake.[13] He also seems to put more faith in bonds and friendship, shown by his willingness to form a team with Yuma during the Tag Duel with Scorch and Chills. He further entrusts Yuma with a card that would allow them to win the Duel.[19] Shark also tries to rescue Emperor's Key from Kite Tenjo and Orbital 7 when it is stolen, clearly stating that he sees Yuma as his friend. In the Duel with Kite, Shark remembers Yuma, and that Yuma would never give up.[20]

Shark's friendship with Yuma also helped him in handling the "Numbers" cards. When "Number 17: Leviathan Dragon" came in contact with him, it easily took hold of him.[1] However, he was able to fight off the influence of "Shark Drake" because of his bond with Yuma, making him the first known person to be able to resist the influence of the "Numbers" without a special item or power. Despite being able to initially resist the influence, Vetrix said that it did infect him and it will amplify his darkness caused by his desire to take revenge against Quattro.[21] However, after a Duel with Yuma, and seeing his bumbling antics, the darkness had disappeared.[18]

However, after accepting his fate as a Barian, he adopted his cold personality again, saying that fate drew him and Yuma together to fight against one another. Unable to consider peace as an option despite his friendships with Astral and Yuma, he attacked Earth with the other Barian Emperors. He is shown to act ruthless when Dueling, as shown during his Duel with Quattro. Throwing himself fully into his Barian persona, he incited his opponent's anger, wanting to be hated and aiming to make both himself and Quattro forget about his time as "Reginald".[7] However, it was shown he was doing this to protect the people of the Barian World. Also when Girag appeared to be in danger, Nash immediately attempted to rescue him, showing he cares for many, if not all of the Barian Emperors (with the obvious exception of Vector).[22] He even burst into tears at witnessing Dumon's death.[23] He also expresses sadness at Mizar's death.[24]

In his final duel against Yuma and Astral, Nash was shown to be grief-stricken for having failed to protect the Barian Emperors and having failed to make their dream come true. He reaffirms his vow to save the Barian World with their spirits at his side and became increasingly more desperate to defeat Yuma and Astral as they continued to survive his every assault, culminating in him adopting a crazed expression in their final exchange. He was also visibly distraught when they finally managed to destroy "CXyz Barian Hope". Nonetheless, he returned back to his friendly self after losing to Yuma and being revived by the Numeron Code.

  • (With power) “With these two monsters I build the Overlay Network to XYZ summon the terror of the deep! Black Ray Lancer!”

  • (Angry) “Vector! The time is now for you to go to hell! I will never forgive you!”

  • (Grateful) “You know Yuma, your a pretty amazing duelist, you should be proud of that.”

Role assigned to: EvilAnnie

For Akari I’d say something in the med-med deep range with a kinda mature older kinda voice. I’d moreso say go for your own thing, though you can base it off her other voice actors if you wish.

Character Description:

Kari can be a tad self-centered at times, occasionally sending others out to find her scoops to make reports on, even if it is dangerous or hazardous. She can also be a tad aggressive, showing to be willing to physically attack Yuma when she caught him dueling (though it is possible she was just trying to intimidate him).

Despite this, Kari genuinely cares for her little brother, and seems to be rather protective of him. She made a promise to her parents that she would do what she can to take care of Yuma, being told that he would rely on her for a long time. As a teenager, she seemed jealous that Yuma got more attention from their parents but has seemingly gotten over any animosity she may have had then. Also, Kari's car was a memento from her father, and she drives it with great care.

  • (Angry) “Yuma! How many times have I told you not to duel?!”

  • (Annoyed) “Look If you need to find info on this dilemma then go to the library!”

  • (Happy) “That kid is really something isn’t he?”

For Kaito I'm looking for a soft sounding badass tyoe of voice, you can go for basing his voice off of the english or japanese dubs or do your own thing. For pitch med-med deep!

Character Description:

Kite initially carried a pious and self-righteous demeanor as he aims to crush any opponent with a religious fervor in his duels. He also shares a brotherly bond with Hart similar to that of Seto Kaiba when it comes to protecting his younger brother, who is his "everything", from any danger.[9] Kite clearly cares more about Hart's safety than his own, as he keeps using the Photon Transformation to hunt "Numbers" not caring that it damages his body and constantly ignores Orbital 7's warnings because he needs the "Numbers" to heal Hart.[10]

Because of Hart's condition supposedly being caused by the "Number" cards, Kite Duels and acts ruthlessly when it comes to facing those whose possess such cards. He announces his arrival by whistling which tends to frighten the person he is about to Duel.[1] Before Kite Duels, he would always say his usual phrase, "Allow me to collect your "Numbers" along with your souls", and when he takes the "Number", he says "Numbers hunting complete". Kite is opposed to inflicting fear on his opponent, calling it an excessive and despicable thing to do.[3] He is however not above using the fear his opponents already have to make them doubt themselves as seen with Astral when he could have Summoned "Number 39: Utopia" against Kite, but the fear of "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" prevented him from thinking clearly.[11] He considers his hunting to be a job he has to do, not one he wants to do.[3] During the World Duel Carnival Finals, Vetrix notes he began his hunt with the ambition to cure his brother, but began reveling in stealing souls as a Numbers Hunter, shown most clearly when he steals two souls at once with a smile on his face[12], and his intent to take Quattro's.[2]

Kite doesn't trust and shows hatred towards Dr. Faker and Mr. Heartland, and tends to hide secrets from them. Whenever he speaks with Heartland, he tends to glare at him. He also accuses Dr. Faker of hiding the truth from him about the "Numbers", and only hunts them in order to heal Hart.[13] He also didn't tell them about his plan to find the origin of the "Numbers"[14], or about Yuma and Astral, and lied to Mr. Heartland when he asked about that day.[12] Besides Hart, Kite shows little compassion towards others, such as Nistro and Dextra. Kite has little interest in Nistro's one-sided rivalry, and told him if he gets in his way, Kite will consider Nistro an enemy[15]. Kite shows little consideration to Dextra, once told Dextra not to concern herself with him when they were young[16] or when she sacrificed herself for him, he bluntly claimed he doesn't care about anyone besides Hart.[5]

In the beginning, Kite despises those wielding the "Numbers" due to Hart's condition and the lies told to him by Mr. Heartland and his father as well. However, during the Duel against his own father, Kite found that his reasons for hunting the Numbers were all a lie, his perception of those using such cards was wrong as he states that all those he hunted were innocent souls.[17] After Hart was cured and having reconciled with his father, Kite shows a much lighter disposition, but remains feeling guilty about the actions he committed when he collected the "Numbers".[18] Although Yuma convinced him to move on, Kite admitted to Fender's Barian-brainwashed gang that his soul is still "guilty".[19]

The difference between the anime and manga version of the character is how they view their ace card, "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon": In the anime, especially episode 106, Kite makes it clear that his dragon is an inseparable part of his identity as a dragon tamer, and that he himself is part of his "Galaxy-Eyes", therefore refusing to destroy it.[20] In the manga, Kaito makes it clear that if his "Galaxy-Eyes" won't be at his side, he will destroy it without a second thought (saying it will humiliate itself at the hand of someone else) after it was taken by Hishakaku, Summoning "Galaxy Dragun" to take it down mercilessly with the intention of ending the Duel.[21]

  • (Energetic) “I tribute these two monsters to summon the Galaxies worst nightmare! Galaxy, shining in the darkness! Become a ray of hope and live within my servant! Descend to me! Incarnation of Light!! Come forth, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!!"

  • (Determined) "Haruto I promise you! I will collect all the numbers and save you from your medical condition, this I swear!"

  • (Energetic) "Now go! PHOTON TRANSFORMATION!!!"

For Cathy I'm looking for a very shy but playful cat like voice in the high-med range. Like I said before own thing or original VAs.

Character Description:

Cathy is a loner and a stereotypical shy girl, especially towards her crush; Yuma Tsukumo. However, she has shown to have a strong distaste towards dogs (when Pip tried to ask the gang for forgiveness, she brushed it off and displayed much anger, calling them "thieving Dogs!").[4] As stated above, Cathy has a bizarre obsession with cats and has the ability to communicate with them. Her obsession goes to the point that she decorates almost the entire interior of her house with cat-themed paraphernalia. She has a habit of dressing up in cat-themed clothes in the Gothic Lolita style and sometimes exhibits cat-like behavior; i.e. curling her fingers to simulate cat paws, finishing her sentences with the word ニャー nyā and licking her lips. She also has a habit of saying the word "Cat" (かとkato) when talking. When angered, she has a tendency to lash out at Flip with her cat claws, scratching his face (this is cut from the dub).

  • (Annoyed) "It's always Kotori with you isn't it, why don't you and I have a playful time together Yuma?"

  • (Shy) "Y-Yuma the truth is I lo- (is interrupted by a direct attack)

  • (Sinister) "With my deck of stray cats Yuma will be putty in my claws!"

For Flip I'm looking for a higher pitched wise guy type of voice in the med-high range. Own takes are fine honestly.

Character Description:

When Astral looks at Flip, he appears to have a dark aura around him, similar to Reginald Kastle and Mr. Kay when they were possessed by "Numbers", even though he is not seen to have one. This is shown to represent his dark nature, being a very deceitful and spiteful person. Flip is a crafty person who has similar mannerisms to Weevil Underwood. They both appear quite similar and are viewed as creepy by the female characters. They both trick their opponents into taking their cards and take advantage of it. Flip is a skilled Duelist who uses any under-handed tactic in the book to make his opponents fall into his trap, even to the extent of giving Yuma the "Baby Tiragon" card in order for him to steal Yuma's "Number 39: Utopia". Wherever Flip goes, there is mischief, from causing a candy store owner to go out of business by saying his candies were overpriced (in the dub he said that the candies were past their expiration date even though they never had one), to confusing a litterbot by tipping it upside down. He has a habit of saying "Ura" in each sentence in the Japanese version. Flip seems to have a similar characteristic with his Flip Effect Monsters as his appearance is deceiving until his true intention is revealed, just like flipping a face. He has a Duel Gazer built for his glasses and a Standard Blue D-Pad.

Zexal6epi
Flip's hands are marked with numbers after taking control of Yuma's Numbers.

In the dub, Flip believes that there's a "flip-side" to everything, and that things can be defined by their opposites. Something that seems harmless can actually be quite lethal. This philosophy is embodied by his fondness for Flip Effect Monsters, along with the physically weak "Baby Tiragon".

As a small child, he often received the same treatment from older children who took advantage of his ignorance towards Dueling to cheat him out of his cards through Ante Duels, saying they would accelerate his improvement when the stakes were higher. He eventually found out, running home in tears and vowing revenge. Since then, he had learned to trick people for his own gain, even defeating his former bullies who quickly became his lackeys.

After his Duel with Yuma Tsukumo, the two eventually put aside their differences and become good friends. His personality completely changes afterwards, as shown when he helps Yuma, Tori and Bronk get into the studio to find Nelson Andrews at the expense of being prevented from going in himself. However, he later seems to return to his old ways when he tried to reach the finals by using fake heart pieces, using Yuma and his friends to take the identity of Count Crazy Fang, and saying that Yuma and his friends are only good as tools, although he seemed to have learned his lesson after that. During the Festival at Heartland Middle School, he was again up to his old tricks, trading fake tickets for a show for rare cards.

Flip is shown to be envious of Yuma and the gang owning "Number" cards so much, he was willing to foolishly take a "Barian Number" and as a result was absorbed into the Barian World. However, he committed this act because he wanted help Yuma.

  • (Annoyed) "Grr! Yuma's friends are beginning to be a real problem, time for plan B!"

  • (Evil) "*Laughs manically* Hahahaha you fell right into my hands Yuma, as now I can take control of your precious numbers card!"

  • (Sad) "Huh? No ones ever called me strong! *Begins crying* Your not like the others Yuma!"

For Caswell I'd say a more nerdy voice in the med-med high range. You can go for sounding like his VAs or do your own thing.

Character Description:

A very intelligent person, Caswell believes that everything can be planned out and executed as planned, only to be corrected by Mr. Kay saying that not everything goes according to plan. He has a habit (in the original) of saying "to summarize" whenever he makes a final statement on a subject. In the dub, he says "In the end".

Initially, Caswell had pride in being the class rep as he was greatly saddened and disappointed when Yuma was made the class rep instead of him. As a result, he was willing to accept Carlyle Chesterton's offer of becoming the chief disciplinarian just so he can referred to by position name like he did when he was class rep. After a conversation with Yuma while the latter was Dueling Carlyle, Caswell accepts that it doesn't matter what someone is called, but how good someone is at a position.

She does have a tough side though as in the first episode as she was able to easily catch Yuma with his stick and say "either you give grandma a kiss goodbye or you get....A Grand Slubbaring".

  • (Protective) "You aren't leaving without a proper breakfast!"

For Ukyo Sensei I'm looking for a very kind and wise teacher type of voice in the med deep-deep range but he gets possessed by a number and has a more sinister and sadistic tone to his voice. I honestly prefer people to do their own thing with Ukyo.

Character Description:

Mr. Kay is a professor at the Heartland Academy that Yuma Tsukumo attends, and was one of the characters possessed by one of the "Number" cards; "Number 34: Terror-Byte". While under the "Number" influence, he launched a Crashbug Virus throughout Heartland City, causing all electronics system to go haywire and caused mayhem.[1] After Yuma defeated him in a Duel, Mr. Kay revealed that he was planning a special spectacle where he used the city's matrix code of that image to materialized an image of "Crashbug" in the sky.[2] He seems to be the main teacher for Yuma's class, as seen during Parent's Day at Yuma's school.[3]

After Reginald Kastle returned to school after a long absence, Mr. Kay welcomed him and was relieved that he was back. When Sharkwas about to walk away, Mr. Kay mentioned how much Shark changed after meeting Yuma, stopping him in his tracks. Mr. Kay commented how special Yuma was, stating Yuma's "sun-like" power can changed people for the better, before watching Shark leave.[4]

Later that day, Caswell asked him to help Yuma find the Emperor's Key using the Crashbug Virus he created while he had a "Number". Mr. Kay was confused about this, but then accepted when Caswell blackmailed him with the threat of telling everyone that he was responsible for the Crashbug Virus incident. Using the virus, he located the Key and opened the door to the building where it was held for Yuma to go retrieve it.[5] He was able to override the building's computer network with his Crashbug virus, causing it to explode. At the Heartland Hospital, he was looking after Shark until the boy awakened from his catatonic state, explaining to him that Yuma saved him.[6]

  • (Sad) "Well class looks like due to unknown circumstances we don't have anything scheduled for class!"

  • (Sinister) "Hahahaha! When rhat device reaches zero it will create an explosion that will destroy the entire city!"

For Fuya I'm looking for a very shy and innocent young teenage voice in the med high-med range, while as Esper Robin I want him to sound more cool and confident like a super hero cause that's basically what he is acting out lol. As before you can base him off the english, japanese, or do your own thing.

Character Description:

Despite being a famous celebrity, Nelson is a rather timid boy, even to the point of being afraid of things such as spiders, as opposed to his brave and heroic TV show counterpart. In the dub, he describes himself as "...just a middle schooler from the suburbs". Nelson often feels very lonely because he always to keep his public image as the "Sparrow" and can never be himself with people. Although usually mild-mannered, Nelson display some degree of boldness as he quickly approached Yuma Tsukumo and whisk him away without the boy's consent, though his rather intimidated by his mother.[1]

Nelson speaks using the boyish pronoun "boku", but when acting as "Sparrow" he used the more masculine pronoun "ore" and speaks in a deeper voice.[1] Sometime after his Duel with Yuma, he solely refer to himself using "boku", showing he's being more himself.[2]

Fuya's Offer
Nelson offers his cards to Yuma.

Nelson is very fond of Yuma, since Yuma is the first person to tell him to be himself. When Nelson first met Yuma, he opened up to Yuma about his loneliness and even directly asked Yuma to be his friend. Even under the "Numbers" influence, Nelson tells Yuma to stay away from him when he was causing havoc around Heartland City for Yuma's own safety.[1] After their Duel, Nelson continues to admire Yuma for his never-give-up "kattobingu" spirit and was happy to see him when they met again. Nelson perceptively notices Yuma's talent to make people happy through Dueling, as Nelson was one of them, and he encourages Yuma continue to make people smile through Dueling.[2] When Yuma getting ready for his Duel Astral, Nelson was the first among Yuma's friends to try to lend Yuma his cards.[3]

According to Astral and Yuma, Nelson has changed since their last Duel, being bolder and more himself since breaking free from his mother's pressure, and said that his style of Dueling has change too. During the World Duel Carnival, Nelson shows to be quite flashy when acting as the "Star Sparrow" around his fans, but maintains his polite and modest nature.[2]

  • (As Esper Robin handing Yuma his deck and sounding a bit nervous) "Hahaha all in a days work for Esper Robin!"

  • (As Fuya said nervously) "No you don't understand my mom can't see me around hanging with people like you!"

  • (As Esper Robin while possessed by his Number) "Who is this Fuya? I am Esper Robin and I will punish you evildoer from whence you came!"

Role assigned to: Alejo Patten

For Mr.Heartland I'm looking for a very lively and slightly flamboyant adult male voice in the med low-deep range, you can base him off english, japanese, or do your own thing.

Character Description:

To the people of Heartland, he is a benevolent government official who cares about the people who lived there. However, his true personality is that of a manipulative and deceitful man. He is willing to blackmail Kite in order to make him do what Dr. Faker wants. He seems to enjoy seeing others in agony as he laughed when he tortured his child soldiers. He also gets annoyed if anybody calls him an "old man" ("dude" and "Mrs. Heartland" in the dub). He is also shown to be more malicious than Dr. Faker as when Hart was harmed by Vetrix, he did not show any concern. Mr. Heartland is also extremely shallow, taking huge pride in his appearance. This was also shown when he burst into tears when Erazor destroyed a statue of him.

He is also very loyal to Vector for rescuing him from the Barian Sea and later for returning to his human form. He's also fearful of his wrath due to his recurring failures.

  • (Cheerful) "Welcome all to Heartland, a wonderful place where children and adults can live out their wildest dreams!"

  • (Serious) "Now Kaito you know the reason your doing this is to save your little brother Hearto so no back talk!"

  • (Sadistic) "Hahahaha I'm going to enjoy crushing your very spirit Kaito!"

For Dr.Faker I'm looking for a mad scientist type of voice kinda like either a Skeletor or Papyrus in the upper range. You can base him off his English or Japanese voice actor, or do your own thing.

Character Description:

In the past, according to Astral, Dr. Faker used to be a kind person as he built Heartland for children. In the present, he seemed to be a cruel and malicious man, but during his Duel with Yuma, Shark and Kite, Faker revealed that it was all a facade and that everything he did, he did for the sake of his sons. Playing the part well, he was shown to be obsessed with destroying the Astral World and Astral himself. He seemingly saw Hart Tenjo as nothing more than a weapon, but he lets his facade slip when he showed great concern when Hart's powers were taken by the Vetrix Family. He also did not seem to care about friendship as he was willing to sacrifice Kazuma Tsukumo and Vetrix in order to achieve his ambition, though he was later shown to deeply regret this. It was also originally believed that he did not care about his sons Kite and Hart, only considering them as trivial sacrifices for his goal, to destroy the Astral World so that the Barian World can give him the power to rule the Earth.

Part of Faker's persona emphasized his arrogance and confidence in his own genius, a trait that is more pronounced in the dub.

  • (Arrogant) "Everything is going according to plan, as soon as Hearto uses up all his energy the Astral World will be destroyed!"

  • (Rude) "If Byron was truly my friend, he should've been proud to be sacrificed!"

  • (Remorseful) "I'm sorry Kaito and Haruto, I never wanted this to happen to you! Please forgive me!"

Role assigned to: mint monster va

For Haruto I'm looking for a young innocent young boy voice in the high range but you also need to be able to go more insane as Haruto kinda has a split personality sort of. You can go off the english, japanese, or do your won thing with him.

Character Description:

While under the influence of Vector's Barian powers, Hart suffers from a split personality: that of a sadistic nature with a desire to destroy the Astral World, as seen when he's laughing at its inhabitants' suffering, saying that he "needs more screams" (in the dub he says he needs more energy), as that is what comforts him.[4] When he's not using his powers, he tends to act quite vulnerable, usually staying in bed, or looking down at Heartland City from the Heartland Tower, wondering why he cannot enjoy laughter like the people who attend the Heartland Fairground.

Before Hart went to live in Heartland and after he got better he was a regular kid, who loved to play and have fun. He has a very kind personality and is always trying to look out for others, especially Kite.In the anime Kite states that Hart has not been his usual self as in the past, as he used to enjoy laughter and was playful and talkative and was very kind.[3]

During the Duel when Dr. Faker is possessed by Vector, he was shown to deeply care for Kite and Yuma, as he could not bear to see them in pain and shedding tears.[5] After the Duel with Vector, Hart was fully rid of the Barian's influence (with the blank stare and bags under his eyes gone) and his personality reverted to the way it was in the past.[6]

  • (Worried and Scared) "Kaito please *cries* I don't want to lose you again!"

  • (Sadistic) "Yes yes!!! I need more painful screams hahahahaha!!!"

  • (Grateful) "Yuma, thanks for looking out for Kaito all this time!"

Role assigned to: Feltheleb

For Orbital-7 I'm looking for a kinda over the top sidekick type in the med-med high range. You can go for sounding like his English VA, Japanese VA, or do your own thing.

Character Description:

Unlike other robots, such as the litterbots, Orbital 7 can express feelings such as anger and fear as it's seen in episode 13 when, seeing a litterbot that the "Number" holder threw down to the ground floor, it got angry and told Kite in an aggressive way to take him down, but quickly changed his tone to Kite when the latter looked at him angrily, implying he has a certain fear for his master.[1] This fear is present especially when Kite threatens to turn Orbital 7 into scrap metal, among other threats, when the latter would disobey the former's orders.

During Yuma and Kite's Tag Duel against Trey and Quattro, he also developed a fear for Tori Meadows. He also considers Tori scarier than Kite as seen when Tori scolded him and called him a "pile of junk", he responded silently "this girl may be even scarier than Kite".[2]

Orbital 7 has a habit of ending his sentences with "de-arimasu" and he refers to Kite as "Lord" Kite (or either "boss" or "Master Kite" in the dub). In the dub, he has a habit of stuttering his sentences.

Orbital 7 has a disdain for Yuma and has in more than one occasion insulted him, frequently calling him "Toma". However given Yuma's evident concern for both Kite and Hart, Orbital 7 has been notably less hostile towards Yuma and has even responded to his commands.

He later falls in love with Lillybot at first sight, and the two becomes friends after a misunderstanding between her and Yuma.

  • (Scared) "M-master Kaito it's another numbers monster!"

  • (Threatening) "If you want to get to master Kaito you'll have to go through me!"

  • (Nervous) "O-oh this Yuma character is more dangerous than we thought!"

Role assigned to: Trina

For Anna I'm looking for a tomboyish and sassy kinda female voice in around the mid-mid deep range, I kinda want to try a new take with her so feel free to put a new spin on her. You can base it off her english and japanese VA's if you wish though.

Character Description:

When speaking in the Japanese version, Anna uses "ore" (俺) when referring to herself (supporting her tough girl attitude), a pronoun that is predominantly used by males and very seldom used by females (who are most likely tomboys in nature). Anna is also shown to be quite hotheaded and reckless, often rushing into things without thinking the situation through.

Astral calls her Dueling style very reckless (using up her entire hand in the second turn) but also very calculated (being able to push her opponent in a corner in only the third turn), which coincides with her personality.

Anna has also displayed a degree of selfishness, seen when she had difficulty working together with Yuma during the Couples Duel tournament, using his monsters to bring out her own (using his "Gogogo Golem" to Xyz Summon her ace card, as well as Tributing his "Gauntlet Launcher" with "Upgrade" to revive the aforementioned card). She was able to put aside her pride at the end of the Duel and activate "Devoted Love", knowing it would cause her to lose but give Yuma an opportunity for victory.

  • (Excited) "Yuma Tsukumo! I have finally found you after all these years and soon you will be mine!"

  • (Nervous) "Wait uh h-how do you properly control this-AHHHH!!!!"

  • (Upset) Shit! No way... Why would Umini stop dueling?"

Role assigned to: Sonic12o3

For III I'm looking for a kind of innocent youthful young teen in the mid-mid high range, however you must be able to display some intensity as well with the lines, I'm mostly looking for a new take, but basing it off any of his other VA's is fine.

Character Description:

Trey has a sweet, friendly and gentle demeanor, unlike his brothers' cold and/or brutal nature. Trey loves his family a lot and doesn't want them to fight, attempting to mediate disputes between Quattro and Quinton. Dutiful and trusting, Vetrix stated that Trey always completed his missions, which are usually important.[6] Quinton also trusts Trey more than he does Quattro, due to Quattro's recklessness and hastiness.[7] Though concerned about his family's fate, he shows concern for Hart Tenjo during Vetrix's ritual.[8]

Although Trey is normally kind and slow-tempered, he can get serious if it is about Duels because he still wanted to Duel Shark, even after Vetrix told him to feel free to lose after he hands Shark "Number 32: Shark Drake".[6] His caring personality is also reflected through his Duels, within his Tag Duel with Quattro, he used his cards to not only protect himself, but Quattro as well.[9]

Trey also showed amazement towards Yuma Tsukumo for his protection to Kite Tenjo, and had developed an interest in him.[10][11] Trey has a strong interest in ancient history and in OOPArts, which seems to be rooted from the fact his father researched them. Trey was able to recognize all of Kazuma Tsukumo's ancient artifacts, in which he shows amazement.[5]

Armored III
Trey in armor.

When Trey eventually gains a portion of Vetrix's power, his personality hardens and bears a colder, more serious demeanor in his desire to meet his family's expectations, destroying many of his own beloved monsters, including his favorite card, just to reduce the ATK points of Yuma's monsters. Eventually, he broke Yuma's spirit and captured Astral using his crest and the powers that Vetrix gave him, as well as gaining an Roman-styled armor. He became cruel and sadistic just like his older brothers, even attacking a helpless Yuma and proceeded to laugh evilly when Yuma was hurt.[12] As the Duel continued, his powers continued to affect him and infuriate when he fails to succeed at something, even appearing to kill Astral and hurt Yuma's friends when both tried to interfere with the duel and prevent Yuma from losing. He would even go as far as to kill Yuma as he got angry when Yuma didn't fall to his death from the road and he even refused Yuma forfeiting and just skipped Yuma's turn so he could defeat Yuma immediately with his powers.[13]

At the end of his Duel with Yuma, Trey reverts back to his loyal and caring personality, having developed a true friendship with Yuma, and passes his hopes for his family to him.[14] Following Vetrix's reformation, Trey retains his peaceful demeanor, but has grown more confident and shown fierce protectiveness towards Yuma.[15][16] Trey has gained a penchant for mocking his enemies, when he replied to Mr. Heartland when he questioned the usefulness of his friendship with Yuma, claiming it could be used to "crush flies", referring to Mr. Heartland.[16] or after depriving Mizar of his "Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon" and being the subject of the Emperor's disgust and anger, he simply replied he was "honored by the compliment".[17]

  • (Powerful but kinda in pain) "I activate Rank Up Magic Argent Chaos Force, HAAAAAA ugh, GO CHAOS XYZ EVOLUTION, COME FORTH CHAOS NUMBER 6: CHRONOMOLY CHAOS ATLANDIS!!!!"

  • (Angry) "Yuma! It's all your fault, your the soul reason why my family will never find happiness, so I'll do more than just beat you in a duel, I'm going to crush your very spirit!"

  • (Happy) "Ha, it's thanks to you Yuma that my family is back to the way it was so now I will always be on your side when you need me!"

IV (Thomas Arclight)

Role assigned to: AnotherAsianVA

For IV what I'm looking for is a kind of egotistical cool guy voice in around the mid-mid deep range, he has two personas: 1 where he's very nice to his loyal fans and as such is very cheerful and friendly, but when the time calls for it he becomes very aggressive and ruthless, someone who enjoys the suffering of others so you need to be able to which between these two personalities for him. I'm kind of looking for an original take but going off his other voice actors is fine.

Character Description:

At first, Quattro acted as a sadistic and malevolent Duelist who wanted to make his opponents suffer, with what he calls his "fanservice", in order to win (in the dub, he refers to it as "spoiling" his fans"). When in the presence of his fans, his personality becomes a facade as he hides his true nature and becomes a "noble" and "well-mannered" person who acts friendly and benevolent as well as adopts a sweet and slow-tempered demeanor. He sees his fans as bad Duelists and challenges them as his "fanservice". When he Duels, he initially praises their skills and lets them think they have the upper hand. When his opponents fall into his trap he shows his real self and defeats them cruelly, going so as far as to keep attacking his opponents even if they have no Life Points and claiming his "fanservice" must continue. He even went so far as to show a child getting tortured on a television screen to the others for his pleasure.[8]

Beneath his malevolent behavior, Quattro shows clear signs of insecurity due to the fact that his family had suffered at the hands of Dr. Faker. He even goes far to justify this by making his opponents suffer by any means possible, and feels otherwise frustrated and angered when his "fanservice" is ruined.[9] He also regrets some of the transgressions he has done, describing them as "inhuman", all for his father's sake. Like his brothers, he only followed Vetrix's orders and wanted to defeat Dr. Faker with hopes that doing so returns Vetrix to his normal self, Byron Arclight.[10]

Quattro argues a lot with his brothers, showcasing that he is willing to let his anger get in the way of their true goal and doesn't always follow Vetrix's orders and as he puts it, "grovels" to him, unlike Trey and Quinton. He also seems to be intimidated of Quinton after getting mad at him for talking back to Vetrix.[5] Despite this, after Trey was brutally defeated by Kite Tenjo in their Tag-Team Duel, Quattro shows his concern for him, proving that he does care for his brothers.[9] He showed a more caring side when Trey was comatose by defending Trey when Vetrix said he was disappointed with him and Trey.[11]

As a child, Quattro was not the brutal Duelist he was before, but he had a tendency to tease Trey like normal brothers do and kept taking his cards. He also had respect for Quinton back then as he returned Trey's cards when Quinton told him to.[12]

When pretending to be kind, he also refers to himself using the pronoun "boku", but switches his pronoun to his usual "ore" after showing his true self.

After his father had reformed, Quattro still maintains his boastful attitude and his old habit of saying "fanservice", but had become more friendly. Still remorseful about his actions towards Rio, he developed an empathy for her, as he can't help but feel sorry for her suffering at Chironex's poison. Quattro also displayed a childish side, complaining about Chironex's "Number 4: Stealth Kragen" simply because of the "4" in its' name, which Quattro proclaimed the number was his "trademark".[13] He also expressed gratitude for what Yuma and Shark had done for his family.[14]

  • (Cheerful) "Hahahaha, well my fellow fans I'll give you a duel you won't soon forget!"

  • (Chaotic) "WITH THESE TWO MONSTERS I BUILD THE OVERLAY NETWORK TO XYZ SUMMON NUMBER 15: GIMMICK PUPPET GIANT GRINDER!!!!!! HAHAHAHA what's wrong you two scared? You know the reason why I love dueling fools like you? BECAUSE IT'S FUN TO WATCH YOU SCREAM IN AGONY WHEN I DESTROY YOU AND MAKE YOU WITNESS THE BEST DAMN FANSERVICE YOU'VE EVER SEEN!!!!"

  • (Sincere) "You don't understand Shark, I never wanted to hurt your sister, I only did it due to Tron! You see when I used that card to cause the place we dueled on fire I saved your sister from the burning building! I never wanted to kill her!"

Role assigned to: GohanOXG

For V I'm kinda looking for a J Micheal Tatum voice for him as that's who comes to mind when I look at him, now you don't have to sound like him but that's who I imagine voicing him, the voice I want is a mature and calculating adult male voice in the mid-mid deep range. You can do your own thing or go for his other voice actors.

Character Description:

As the eldest brother of the Vetrix Family, Quinton is the most rational and calmest of his brothers, even more so than Vetrix at times. When he was younger, Quinton was gentle and mature to others, looking out for his younger brothers and made sure they behaved.[6] When living with Kite, Quinton grew fond of him and taught him how to Duel to protect his own younger brother, Hart. After learning of his father's fate, Quinton became cold and stoic, blaming his father's condition on Dr. Faker.[2] Assisting with Vetrix's revenge, Quinton kept his brothers in line and was usually shown with his father conversing over important issues.

Quinton acts cold and ruthless when he Duels, as well as egotistical, shown by his incredibly angry reaction towards Yuma after taking only 400 damage from Yuma's card effect during the Duel Coaster event.[7] He has an intense hatred of Dr. Faker due to what he did to Vetrix and ruining his family, with which he also blames Kite for doing his father's dirty work.[8] After his father's return to his old persona, these traits vanished and Quinton became kinder and returned to being friends with Kite.[9]

  • (Determined) "I overlay these two monsters in order to build the overlay network and XYZ summon Number 9: Dyson Sphere! Be ready Kaito for this is the last monster you'll ever see!"

  • (Worried) "Tron, are you really sure this is the right way to with things, do we really need to cause all this pain?"

Tron (Byron Arclight)

Role assigned to: jazzpear94

For Tron what I'm looking for is a voice in the high range so therefore both males and females are able to audition due to his change into a child. He has a very sadistic and over the top nature as he's seeking revenge for what happened during the events of Zexal so he needs to sound like a demented child who's hungry for blood and will do anything to achieve his goals, but for the last line I need you to sound much more mellow and happy as he's come to realize the error of his ways. I mostly want and original take but I'm fine if you base him off his other VA's.

Character Description:

Byron Arclight was first shown to be a calm and gentle person who valued friends and family. He helped Dr. Faker with his research out of respect, despite not knowing what his goals are and allowed his eldest son to help. He quickly became friends with Kazuma Tsukumo as they bond over their sons, and wanted Kazuma to let him fall into the other dimension so that Kazuma could save himself when Dr. Faker betrayed them.[4] After falling into the other dimension, he became obsessed with taking revenge against Faker, going as far as hurting others to reach that goal. However, he continues to respect Kazuma and his ability to make friends, but he also notes that it was the reason for his disappearance.[3]

As Vetrix, he acts just like a child, enjoying cartoons and playing video games to the point where he bursts out in fits of laughter[8][9] and acts like a regular child in public events.[8] When not watching cartoons or when not in public, his personality is similar to his original, when he is talking to Trey, Quattro, and Quinton showcasing how he is the leader of the group. As he is their father, he is the most respected out of his family, as when Quattro talked back to him, Quinton stood up for him and scolded Quattro.[10]

Vetrix is close to Quinton, as they are seen talking to each other often, and care a great deal about Trey. While Trey was Dueling Yuma Tsukumo, he was very confident that he would win due to the powers and cards he gave him, and was not at all concerned about Trey's safety during the Duel, even after being talked to by a worried Quinton. After Trey was defeated and nearly killed, Vetrix stayed at his bedside, worried about him, and not seeming to care about him giving away the 2 "Number" cards he had to Yuma.[5] His relationship with Quattro is strained due to his recklessness, but Vetrix does praise his efforts in his plans.[9] As Vetrix becomes closer to getting his revenge, it appears he does not care about his family anymore from the moment he returned to Earth. He sees his family as worthless and only as pawns who had different roles to further aid his machinations.[11] Though an important reason for his revenge on Faker was not just for sending him through the rift between dimensions, but for having his body torn apart at by the galaxy which has replaced the left side of it, as well as having his memories of his beloved family being taken from him. In his reminisces, he is seen to care deeply for his family despite his change in personality.[6]

Vetrix also appears to be cruel and merciless like Quattro while Dueling, as shown during his Duel with Dextra when he defeated her using her own cards against her and even used his "Number" to copy her Ace monster's name. Knowing Kite is very important to Dextra, he erased all her memories about him after winning the Duel simply to make her suffer. He also mocks her feelings cruelly stating that her love for Kite had "a bad taste".[1] Vetrix claims that he has no true emotions, even using the rage and hate provided through his sons, Shark and his own opponents to bolster the summoning of "Number 69: Heraldry Crest", which requires rage and hate to control.[12]

Vetrix was at first interested in Yuma after knowing he was the son of Kazuma, and targeted him without much concern or worry, evidenced by how he was confident Trey would win over win due to the powerful cards he gave him.[13] When the opposite occurred, Vetrix became much more interested in Yuma and devised various methods to attack him mostly out of interest in his power. As Yuma manages to thwart his schemes from time to time, Vetrix develops noticeable rage and hatred towards Yuma, to the point that he shouts his name and calls him "an unsightly boy". This goes to the point that he has stated he will make him suffer.[12]

However, he seemed to have a change of heart when Yuma attempted to save him from the "Sphere Field Cannon". Before he was absorbed, he released the souls he captured and thanked Yuma for trying to rescue him despite his transgressions.[14] Vetrix later rescues Dr. Faker, Kite, and Yuma from falling into a chasm at the collapsing Sphere Field chamber, showing that he has forgiven Faker and given up his plans for revenge, returning to his original personality.[15]

  • (Sadistic) "Hahahaha I OVERLAY MY TWO HERALDIC BEASTS IN ORDER TO BUILD THE OVERLAY NETWORK AND XYZ SUMMON NUMBER 69: GOD MEDALLION- COAT OF ARMS!!!!"

  • (Sinister) "Aww Shark, it looks like Yuma's going to be possessed by Shark Drake Weiss (said like Veiss) if you want to save him I suggest activating that spell I gave you quickly otherwise who knows what'll happen to the poor boy *laughs*!"

  • (Much more mellow as he's come to his senses) "Yuma, I can't live the same as you and Kazuma. But I can't allow Faker to do what he wants. I'll release all the souls I've captured! Farewell Yuma and Astral. Forgive me, everyone. This time, I won't forget this."

For Droite the voice I want is a mature young women type of voice in the mid deep-deep range with an intellectual and warm motherly feel to it. I prefer an original take but you can go off her other VA's if you wish.

Character Description:

Contrary to Nistro's high-spirited personality, Dextra is a very level-headed and serious person. Her cold, calculating demeanor is demonstrated by her admonishing of Nistro for his more casual and impulsive attitude. She shows little tolerance for recklessness and handles things in a cool, professional manner. This personality is also reflected in her Dueling strategy, as she is precise and calm in her tactics. Additionally, she seems to only move in when her opponent is weakened, also representing how she considers carefully before she makes her move. This is also seen when she followed Tombo Tillbitty's actions throughout the World Duel Carnival, only approaching him once she had knowledge on what he had been doing.[1][7]

Although she criticizes Nistro often, she has shown concern for him, such as when Hart Tenjo unleashed his powers while Nistro was in range.[10]

Despite her initially icy and indifferent persona, Dextra has also shown deep concern for Kite when she found out that the repeated use of Photon Transformation was weakening him, up to the point of urging him to give up the World Duel Carnival Finals.[11] It was shown that she fell in love with him when he saved her once.[3] In Spartan City, Dextra is more friendly and carefree as she often smiled at others.

  • (Energetic) "I overlay my two butterfly monsters in order to build the overlay network! I XYZ summon Photon Butterfly Assassin!"

  • (Annoyed) "Gauche can you please stop always rushing into things like that, we need to think through this more logically."

For Gauche I'm looking for a rough and enthusiastic adult male voice in the mid deep-deep range, like before I'm moreso looking for an original take but going off his other VA's is fine, though I'd say if I were to base him off a voice actor I'd say something like Patrick Seitz's Ragna, something fitting to that of Gauche's personality.

Character Description:

Opposite to Dextra's cold-blooded personality, Nistro is a very high-spirited person, evident to how excited he got during the opening ceremonies of the World Duel Carnival.[9] In the Japanese version, he has a habit of saying "nori" in each of his sentences.

He also seems to take his job less seriously, as when investigating mysterious Duels within the tournament, he joked about how some of the Duelists were defeated, while Dextra maintained a calm manner whilst investigating.[6] This tends to cause frequent arguing with his partner, but they actually get along better than they initially appear and their Dueling styles complement each other well. It also seems Nistro values Dextra (or at least his colleagues in general) highly, as during their Duel with Yuma Tsukumo, he activated a card that served no other purpose than to take the hit for Dextra.[8]

Nistro loves Dueling, heavily punishing anyone that dishonors Dueling. As a member of the committee, he is very severe when punishing a cheater, to the point of physically injuring the participant or forbidding him/her from Dueling in Heartland City for the rest of his/her life.[7]

Nistro can be quite competitive with Kite Tenjo, having some form of rivalry with him in collecting "Numbers".[10] After his defeat, he formed a friendly rivalry with Yuma because he liked his spirit, but he also considered Yuma as his "prey" since he possess the "Original Number".[8] Recently, however, he has allied himself with Yuma, because he does not want Yuma to be defeated by anyone except himself.[11]. When Nistro Dueled Yuma, he showed a more child like nature, wanting to defeat Yuma with honor, and having Yuma "Duel with strong guts". When he lost, Nistro told Yuma that it would dishonor him if he didn't Duel with all his might.[3] During Yuma's Duel with Kite, Nistro cheered for Yuma more, in contrast to Dextra, who cheered for Kite only. He also supported Yuma when he Summoned "Heroic Champion - Excalibur".[12]

  • (Excited and energetic) "I overlay my two level 4 monsters in order to build the overlay network and XYZ summon! Heroic Champion Excalibur!"

  • (Happy) "Hahaha! I never had a more epic duel than with you Yuma, here's my thanks use my Heroic Champion Excalibur and win the World Duel Carnival Championship for me!"

The voice I have in mind for her is something similar to Cherami Leigh but you don't have to sound like her, you can base it off her english or Japanese if you want or try something new, for voice range I'd say around med-high to med-deep, she kinda has a tough but beautiful type of voice.

Character Description:
Despite her appearance and previously spending a large amount of time in hospital, she is a confident and adamant person, getting annoyed when things do not go her way. This is usually shown when conversing with her brother. Her confident personality assists in her interests which allows her to conquer sports such as soccer, baseball, basketball and boxing with ease. Despite all of this, Rio also shows somewhat of a childish side as well, shown by her fear of cats (this showing she has ailurophobia) and calling Shark a "meanie" when he teasingly refused to help remove one from her sight. Rio tends to be annoyed when people refer to her as "Shark's sister" instead of calling her by name as indicated by Yuma due to her snapping at him when he continually calls her as such, and especially does not like it when someone insults her brother. This is further seen many times during her Duel against Lotus as she got mad at her for making a rude remark about Shark.

Despite being occasionally irritated with Yuma for not addressing her properly as "Rio", his personality and playful antics makes her let it slide given that she is thankful to him for helping her brother and being his friend. It is also revealed that she goes very far on things and acts strong because she feels she has to or people may use her as a shield against her brother.[3] She later shows admiration towards Yuma and Alito as she commented they have amazing Dueling spirit.[11]

She takes great pride in her abilities and effort as she has no problem in showing them when people underestimate her as she believes women are not to be viewed as "pretty decorations".[3]

Rio also has a empathetic quality to her personality as well. This is demonstrated when she finds Bronk injured on the way to school, and shows genuine concern to him and helps treat his injuries.[12]

She has undying loyalty to her brother, going along with his decision to assault Earth after regaining their Barian identities, despite her own wishes.[13]

  • (Energetic) "With my two level 5 winged-beasts I build the overlay network and XYZ summon Ice Princess Zerhiort!"

  • (Annoyed) "If you call me Shark's sis one more time Yuma! I WILL END YOU!!!"

  • (Confident) "Ah so you think a girl like me can't handle a game of soccer with you boys? Well I guess I'll have to show you!"

While Mizar described Alito as a "simpleton", Alito was shown to be the most childish among them, complaining that he didn't want to go to the human world as he couldn't "Duel seriously" and didn't want to do a "boring job", but complied once Dumon intimidated him.[6] Alito also appeared to be the most friendly among the Barians, developing a close friendly rivalry with Yuma Tsukumo due to his Dueling passion and spirit, despite his goals to collect the "Numbers" and defeat him. Aside from being an energy being, Alito is shown to act very human and normal; he enjoyed Dueling and developed crushes on others as a regular human boy would. Yuma also commented that he likes Alito even though he is a Barian since they bonded over their Duels.[7]

Contrary to the other Barians, who take their mission as priority, sometimes regardless of the methods employed, Alito prefers to Duel and nothing excites him more than a Duel that he can play seriously. Alito has also demonstrated that he learns from his past Duels, as after his first defeat against Yuma, he came prepared with new cards that gave him an advantage on a similar situation in which he would have lost. Alito is shown to be the most honorable among the Barians, preferring to Duel fairly and head-on without resorting to any underhanded tactics to gain the advantage. He also has good sportsmanship, praising Yuma's Dueling skills and graciously telling Astral to take his "Number" and soul after losing the Duel, though it did not work.[1][2]

Referencing his Deck, Alito frequently makes puns on boxing, as evidenced during his attempts to woo Tori Meadows by using words like "punch" and "counter" many times.

After awakening from his slumber by Don Thousand's powers, Alito's personality changed, being more aggressive and rude to Dumon and Mizar. Along with his darker persona, Alito also showed no recollection of his friendship with Yuma and was obsessed with defeating him.[3] He was willing to use dirty tricks to defeat his opponents, such as forcing Nistro to use "Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force".[8] He reverts back to his normal self after losing to Yuma and Astral again in their fourth duel together.[9]

For Girag what I’m looking for is a burly tough guy kinda voice but not too goofy to the point of not being able to be taken seriously. For range I’d say mid-low to deep.

Character Description:

Girag is a fearless warrior who does not hesitate in his mission. He assaulted Fender's gang by himself with no fear, holding Fender and declaring he liked his eyes as they resembled those of a "scared prey", which also reveals he is sadistic and abusive.

However he also seems to be quite arrogant as he referred to himself as ore-sama in one instance, which is an extremely egotistical way for a person to refer to themselves in Japan. He also seems to have a liking to manga, which is the reason he brainwashed Art Stanley, and even attempted to draw manga sketches, although his designs were terrible.[4] He has an infatuation with the TV singer Scarlett Starling and goes to a bar called the "BARian" to eat and relax.[5]

Girag's downfall is his lack of foresight, and his plans always tend to go awry due to a single miscalculation. For example, when brainwashing Tori Meadows and Cathy Katherine, Girag neglects to take into account Shark's personality, and thus is forced to Duel alongside Yuma and help him win.[6] This can be attributed to Girag's rather arrogant personality, for he thinks his plans as flawless despite his failures. Also, according to Alito, he's known to slack off on a regular basis.

Though arrogant and somewhat abusive to humans, Girag has been shown to be friendly and respectful with several of his fellow Barians, but shares a close relationship with Alito, whom he gives romantic advice to as well as shows mourning over when gravely injured.[5][7]

After being revived by Don Thousand, Girag displayed much more malice, taking Ponta's spirit and devouring it right after explaining what he had done to save the tanuki's life.[1] He returns to normal after Alito awakens his real memories, and also trusts in Yuma just as Alito did.[8]

  • (Confused) “Wait uh? Can you explain what we do with these Brian Field cubes Mizar?”

  • (In pain) “Hehe Alito, even if we may die know this, I’ll always be by your side no matter what!”

  • (Determined) “Get ready Yuma cause I’m about to crush your soul! I XYZ summon Number 106: Giant Hand!

For Durbe I really imagine him with a Yuri Lowenthal type of voice (more in his lower range), now you don’t have to try and sound like Yuri Lowenthal it’s just what I think is a type of voice that would fit him. You can do your own thing as well. For the voice I’d say a more serious, calculating and stoic type of voice in the mid-mid-low range.

Character Description:

Among his allies, Dumon is shown to be the most level-headed among them and was at one time their leader. He is shown to care about his fellow Barians greatly, often voicing his high opinion of them and usually letting them know that he has faith in them before seeing them off on their mission.[5][6] Dumon is very loyal to the Barian World and prioritizes its safety above all else. Likewise, he is extremely loyal to the original leader of the Barian World, Nash, going to great lengths to find and restore him to his original position within the Seven Barian Emperors. This appears to have stemmed from their previous human lives.

Dumon is also shown to intimidate the other Barians, especially Alito, whom complained about the mission he received, but complied when Dumon used a strict tone.[6] He also seems to dislike confrontation as he often puts an end to arguments and fights between his comrades[5][7][2], though this did not stop him from threatening to put an end to Vector with his own hands if the latter did not stop acting alone.[7] He is not averse to praising his enemies, as he did during his Duel with Shark, where he complimented the young man's determination and Dueling skills.[8]

He was also willing to sacrifice his life in order to protect his comrades, as seen when he was trying to used his "Celestial Rage" to end his last Duel against Vector in a draw, as well as using "Sacred Shield" to protect Marin, even though it meant his death.[9]

  • (Serious) “I don’t have time for your tom foolery, we’re on a mission so focus!”

  • (Determined) “You aren’t going anywhere Shark, we have a score to settle so get ready!”

  • (Energetic) “I now overlay my two monsters in order to build the overlay network and XYZ summon Number 102: Star Seraph Sentry!”

Shingetsu Rei/Vector

For Shingetsu, I'm looking for that kinda happy go lucky protagonist voice in the mid-mid high range, for Vector I want a more crazy and over the top villain voice in the mid-mid low range, he does have a filter in his barian form, you don't have to apply it to the Vector line but if you want to be my guest, I understand that it can be a bit difficult to pull off both Vector and Shingetsu since their ranges are a bit different, but just try your best!

Character Description:

Though he was revealed to have been a kind and benevolent ruler before his corruption, in the present, Vector is manipulative, unpredictable and utterly insane, whose sole motive for gathering the "Numbers" is to destroy the Astral World and the Human World. Vector has also been shown to be extremely cunning, with a tendency to make convoluted, yet effective plans; he made use of various pawns like the Tenjo and the Vetrix families, manipulating both parties and escalating their conflict in order to make them gather "Numbers" more quickly and to destroy the Astral World. On his return, he gave Astral "Number 66: Master Key Beetle" in order to lure him and Yuma into attempting to travel to the Barian World. He then generated a portal to transfer them to "Sargasso the Different Dimension Battlefield" where he and his fellow Barians would have a Dueling advantage.[4] Another example was giving Yuma the "V" cards while posing as Ray Shadows, as both a way to gain his trust and later as part of a Dueling strategy to destroy his Deck and Life Points, as well as corrode Astral's trust in Yuma and make him embrace the darkness.[5]

Cruel and sadistic, he enjoys tormenting others for his amusement, even shown to have no compassion for his fellow Barians, even insulting them when they are hurt, much to Mizar's disgust.[6] Even in his past life, though he took his own life to atone for his actions, he was shown to be extremely psychotic and paranoid, unlike the other Barians, due to his altered personality. Vector also has a tendency to act alone, making plans on his own without any regards to his fellow Barians, even going as far as to ambush Alito[7] and siding against Girag[8][9] just to further his own twisted agenda. He has a great hatred for Yuma Tsukumo, Astral, Kite Tenjo, and Shark - due to the four constantly interfering with his plans - particularly Yuma, whom he takes pleasure in taunting him and causing him pain.[4][5] He also demonstrates a tendency to break out into fits of deranged laughter. After being defeated for a second time by Yuma, Vector's hatred for the boy grew to extremely dangerous levels, even going up to the extent of releasing the Barian deity, Don Thousand.[2] He also is shown to be distrustful as noted by Number 96, calling him a "second-rate villain" for using dirty tricks to manipulate Duels.[10] Vector also considers himself a god due to he and Don Thousand merged as one, and as such did not care if he and the Barians were all being used by Don Thousand.[11] It was then revealed that the majority of his persona was due to Don Thousand's manipulation of his memories, and that he was a truly benevolent potentate who detested the concept of war and cared for his people. He got very upset at Don Thousand for this and yelled in agony. However, despite knowing what Don Thousand did, Vector ultimately tossed it aside, continued to mock Nash, and expressed a false remorse.[12] When he saw how far Yuma went to rescue him even after he tried to take Yuma with him as he was about to be absorbed by Don Thousand, Vector had a change of heart, deciding to sacrifice himself while sincerely saying "Yuma-kun" one final time to Yuma.[13] Following his revival, he is shown to be on good terms with the other Emperors.[14]

As Ray Shadows, he has a very cheerful and loud exterior, which exasperates others at times. He is also very friendly and eager-to-please, but tends to rush recklessly into things and is quite clumsy. Although he usually has good intentions, Ray tends to cause problems or make things worse[15], something that Flip Turner and Caswell Francis have pointed out.[8] Ray has a strong admiration, and an albeit fan-boyish personality towards Yuma, since he knew that Yuma won the World Duel Carnival, and even refers to Yuma as the "crown jewel" of Heartland Academy and Heartland City. In order to get close to Yuma, Ray treats Yuma with the utmost respect and is eager to do things for Yuma that will please him, such as getting him to have a Duel with pro-Duelist Devon Knox[16] or voting for Yuma as new class representative of their class. He even wishes to join the Super Secret Number Card Investigation Club when he learned the club supports Yuma in his adventures.[15]

  • (Excited and as Shingetsu) "Oh? Are you the dueling champion Yuma Tsukumo?! I'm such a huge fan of your work! My name Shingetsu, nice to meet ya!"

  • (Serious as Shingetsu) "Yuma take these barian cards because your going to need all the help you can get!"

  • (Crazy as Vector) "WHAT A FOOL YOU ARE YUMA, THE ANSWER HAS BEEN LURKING BEHIND YOU THE WHOLE TIME, I'M THE REAL VECTOR AS WELL AS YOUR "BEST FRIEND" SHINGETSU, HAHAHAHA!!!"
