Spacious Episode 1 - Side Characters
Project Overview
Spacious is a personal project that combines sci-fi, adventure, and comedy as it follows a group of four low-income freelancers wandering the cosmos for work. You can view the original test short featuring the leads here: https://youtu.be/L34V0mq0Fm8 Character designs have changed since then, but voices and personalities haven't.
The first full episode, which is about the leads getting more than they bargained for when taking on a repair job as well as exterminating whatever pests tore up the machines, is fully written, has wrapped up voice recording for the leads, and is in the storyboarding process.
However, I'm still seeking voices for a side character who shows up throughout the cartoon and two bit players in the final scene. I initially tried to do the voice for the farmer myself, but I wasn't satisfied with my performance (In changing my pitch, accent, and demeanor, I didn't think the delivery sounded natural), so I'd like to find another actor who can properly pull off what I have in mind for him. One of the two bit players will also have an expanded/recurring role in future shorts, and if whoever is cast for her here is interested in returning for them, I'm open to discussing it.

An alien crop farmer who hires Leslie and Jed (The two primary leads) to fix his security terminal and figure out what type of animal is destroying it and eating his crops as well. His demeanor and tone of voice are indifferent, mostly deadpan, southern/redneck-accented, and sometimes awkward given how informal he tends to be. However, during the final scenes, he flips out on the group for ruining many of his crops during the process, which calls for louder, more energized delivery.
For Krump, I'm looking for a medium-low, middle-aged, gruff, and monotone voice (With the monotone element being dropped at the end as mentioned above). Another, neighboring livestock farmer who appears on the news briefly at the end as part of wrapping up the story. His voice should probably be higher-pitched to differentiate it from Krump's, and actors can try different farmer accents and levels of over-the-top since it's a brief role. (Note - 'Shrifters' is pronounced the same way you'd say 'Shifters', just with an extra r in the first syllable.)
"Shrifters just eat veggies and little bugs, see, so they ain't goin' after my animals due to their diet. But they're cuttin' down on the pesky flies and fungi that were makin' animals sick - like, it was a blessin' in disguise with how scary them landin' in the front yard was."

The leads watch this reporter narrate a news story relevant to their adventure in the closing scene. She has a peppier, less droll/strict demeanor than real-life newscasters, and the tendency to always sign off with a bad joke.
This character will make several more appearances in future shorts and eventually have a genuine role when the characters meet her in person later on, so I'll be up for talking to whoever gets chosen for the role about reprising it. I'm looking for a medium-high and enthusiastic voice, though not annoyingly so.
"Citizens who lived near the Arulium Woods were confused this evening, when a platform containing dozens of captive Shrifters landed near a local livestock farm."
"Though well-known as pests to vegetable farmers and dangerous to the public when provoked, this odd incident is actually being viewed by the farmer as fortunate."
"(Jokey signing off line) Looks like rain isn't the only thing farmers like to fall from the sky!"
