Sea Hears Project
Project Overview
Hi everyone! Thanks for taking a look at this project!
Sea Hears Project is the code name for a visual novel where players can choose which character to play as. Each character has their own unique story arch that plays alongside the main plot. Sea Hears Project is not a romance novel, but a complex and evolving project that develops as the player creates meaningful decisions.
The roles of these voice actors are not for the game itself, but for advertising videos to push these characters into the limelight and help drive up interest. This project itself is supported by a very small community, so most payments are made through a personal account from someone with a big dream. Sea Hears Project is simply a work of love, but with solid support perhaps it can achieve more.
Thank you for taking a look, I hope to listen to your audition soon!

Deadline pushed back another week
Thank you everyone for the wonderful auditions. The role for Meili has been cast, and I would like to thank everyone for auditioning for this role. If I did not give you feedback regarding this role and you would like some feedback on your audition please let me know and I would be glad to provide it. While I aim to cast Tilde tomorrow I may be a little late. There's been a wide range of auditions and it has been tough to narrow it down to a shortlist! For the moment, I'll focus on casting Tilde, so I hope to cast Lo Chen by the 22nd. Thank you everyone for your support! -
Delighted with the support from Casting Call Club!
It has been a true delight to listen to the auditions for the three roles cast in Sea Hears Project. My aim is to confirm at least two of the roles by the current project deadline of the 18th of February. There have been some auditions that could be a great fit for other roles too. Please feel free to follow SoStudios to keep up to date with the future listings. These listings could include two more young female students, two young male students, another teacher with a masculine voice and a female teacher. I am very grateful for your support and efforts with these roles. I wish everyone a pleasant lunar year and a wonderful weekend.
Meili is an 11 year old girl who doesn't want to be enrolled in an academy for magi. She is reluctant to make connections with others, hoping somehow her father would notice and she'll be taken out of school. Other students aren't ready to give up on Meili however, and when there's a curse in the school its all hands on deck!
While it is preferable that Meili's accent is Chinese, it is not necessarily required and all accents are welcome to audition. This project is aiming at making an advertisement video introducing Meili as a character in a visual novel game code named 'Sea Hears Project'. Meili's voice should sound genuine and not too high pitched. We may be looking to secure a close relation with a successful voice actor if the video draws enough attention.

[Meili is reluctantly being recorded for a school project.]
So… My name is Meili. And I didn’t want to be here but… [three second pause] Francis made me so… [big sigh] I’ve been told to introduce myself. [pressing] Can I go now?
[Meili is alone, thinking to herself. She is sad.]
The ocean is my home. Far away from the world of land and feet, where we can sing in peace.
[Meili is feeling smug, bemused]
You want me to skip this lesson and go on an expedition that will most likely get us expelled? (Delighted!) Of course I'll come!
Tilde is an 11 year old student who is attending an academy for magi. She has left her country in order to study. Her voice should sound gentle, a little mystical, but not too high pitched and squeaky. She is often thinking about other things and can sometimes be easily distracted.
This project will be for an advertisement video for this character. If it becomes popular, we may wish to work closely with the voice actor for further projects.
(Tilde's brother is insisting that they play a different VR game on Tilde's last day in the country. She says the line gently, slightly defensively.)
I thought it’d be nice to see the sky, and experience it with me for the first time.
(Very upset)
What if I can never pass the exams to go back home?
[Tilde is sitting by the recording cameras after being gestured to come by and sit down but the other students in the group are gesturing at Meiili.]
Oh? You want to interview me? Okay then. Wait, your eyes are looking at… Oh, you want Meili? Well, what do I do in this project? It is a group project after all.
Lo Chen is a teacher at an academy for magi. Once a veteran of an Armanda, and hero to his home country, Lo Chen has seen quite a few things he'd rather forget. Lo Chen's voice should sound appealing and a little husky. While it is preferred his accent is genuine Chinese, all accents are welcome to audition.
**Please note: It would be best to avoid auditioning with a fake Chinese accent. If you don't have a genuine Chinese accent, your natural accent will still be considered. The most important aspect of Lo Chen's voice is that he sounds appealing.**
We may be looking to secure a close relation with a successful voice actor if the video draws enough attention.

(Reflecting, monologue)
It’d be a couple years after grandfather passed away, that the war would start and mark us all.
(Reflecting, monologue)
But he was right, that old man. The sea is in my blood. [Darkly but reflecting, not intense] And those monsters…
[Bemused, sighing]
Did you wanna say anything else, kid?
