RWBY Abridged
Project Overview
RWBY Abridged is a little project I plan to kind of reboot the series into something I can practice my directing skills and Audio Engineering skills. But of course I can't impersonate everyone so yes I need voice actors. A few of them have been taken already. These characters will include episodes 1-3 but down the line I'll get more characters.
Mic quality is important as it will be held at professional level.
Impressions of the original series is not necessary I just need believable voices with perfect emotional investment.
As I want this to be professional I will pay my voice actors that partake in this project. I will pay in a per word basis.
Pay for all character here: .25¢ per word (100 words = $25) (However, a pay of $10 is minimum even if it doesn't meet the $10 dollar mark).
I will be creating a patreon to increase the pay so look forward to that as I plan to do at least 3 volumes. So those that wish to see the series continue can pay y'all and I don't have to carry all the weight since yes, I'm in college.
Scripts for episodes 1-3 are done and audio engineering for episode one is 60-70 percent is done. So as soon as this casting call ends we can hit the ground running since I want to run on a weekly schedule.
Preferably people with a track record for voice acting but not necessary either I'm not gate keeping. Just show me believable acting.
Live directing might occure if there is something I want specifically. Or if there is some guidance required or you feel more comfortable having someone telling ideas for what to do.
Last thing is that you must be able to match lip flaps. Since I'm not editing the actual episodes however I wrote the script to fit them but I'm not perfect so slight modification to the script might be necessary.

This is it guys
Well this is it. Been a wild week for me listening to all of y'all it took me legit 3 hours to decide who to pick. But again I would like to thank you all for the amount of support I have had for this project even though I don't have experience. I hope you continue to watch closely and watch us grow. However, this isn't over yet. :) I do plan opening more casting calls for upcoming characters that will show up. So follow me to get notified when I post it, if you like. It might take a week or two not sure but soon. Buckle up boys and girls because I'm just starting. -
Change of plans
Hey so I been trying to keep up with giving feedback for the past couple of days and well... Bad news is I don't think I'll be able to to give any of Ozpin or Jaune any feedback. When I said that I would be giving feedback it was only 100 something auditions and thought to myself shouldn't be too bad but now we are almost double in the past few days. I did not expect to receive so much support and so many auditions. But now I need to start deciding 7 voice out of 200+ auditions. I do feel bad for my guys in this one as I couldn't help y'all I regretfully have to push forward to meet the deadline. :'( Please don't give up if you aren't casted though. I believe in yall. -
Not an April fool's joke
Hey, LerminAura coming at you with some news. So I keep getting requests for feedback and stuff like that but... I'm almost reaching to 100 auditions and to give feedback to all of you will be kind of tough. Since we still haven't gotten to the weekend that's when the big surge of auditions will happen. However, I will try to give feedback to most of y'all. I'll start tomorrow afternoon until the end of this casting call. Our Main character of the series RWBY Abridged. For any one interested auditioning for this role you do not have to imitate the original. Just sound innocent and cute I suppose.
She is a huge weeb in this Abridged and can go 0-100 real quick in terms of emotions. Emotions are her main drive to go on about her day so I want to hear you best sad, crying, excited, and screams. I like to reboot her character a little so don't base too much off the original.
Ruby: (explosive anger) it's not paranoia! (More calm) Ok I been avoiding school because I know my mom came here and (sad) ultimately died.
Ruby: (hidden anger) What did you just say!?

Another main staple of the series. She will kind of retain her rich girl personality. However, I'mma make her a huge rap music fan. She still is same old Weiss just more prissy.
For the voice again doesn't have to match but she still needs to sound arrogant and miss im high maintenance. To sell your performance I want to hear explosive emotions as she gets mad easy and also annoyed. But don't forget the other emotions she isn't one dimensional.
Weiss: I earn more money a day than you will in your life. Say sorry peasant!!
Weiss: (sarcastic) OMG I'm Weiss, we can also talk about boyfriends like the one who I saw you with earlier, yellow crayon over there
Weiss: what the hell is going on over here, I need my beauty sleep

3rd character of the Squad. And for Blake I almost completely rebooted her character. So, dont go off the the original too much just use it as an idea. I want her to still sound mysterious and edgy like she always mad.
For Blake her change is that now she hates humans as she was raised with no humans around and has to now live with them for certain circumstances which are unknown no one knows her.
Blake: escaping from your problems and past I suppose
Blake: well depends if you have something I want… I'm not here to make friends… so no go.
Blake: wait you know Weiss now… (whisper/low voice as if planning something evil) maybe this can work after all if I friend them

Last girl to the party is Yang. She's kind of more distant to Ruby than the actual show but still loves her none the less. She is still easily excitable and mad at another time. She kinda of stayed the same but now she is more the dirty minded of the four.
For her voice, I do look for tomboyish like the original. But doesn't have to match exactly of course. She needs a lot of screaming and grunts in fights so be ready for those.
Yang: It's been years Ruby!! I can't believe that we are going to the same school…
Yang: We'll be together Ruby… (distant) as long as you don't have him as a friend.
Yang: well I'm Yang Xaio Long and I do love… the schlong

Alright so Glynda, a lot of people see her as the BDSM queen of the show so I'mma try to stay away from that to be different. But that doesn't mean there will be BDSM jokes from her. It's like she is actively trying to not be called that but everyone does anyways. She is also a secret weeb.
Voice wise, sound mature but with some points where she turns a bit childish so inflection is key for her role don't forget to include those emotions.
Glynda: Also fighting villains without a license or proper schooling at least. (Sarcasm) I'm impressed… I was kidding.
Glynda: If you wish to return to your mommy now, please find the nearest window and jump off with no aura activated.
Glynda: Tonight you will all sleep in the ballroom. Girls on one side and boys on the other. It may be the ballroom but please I don't want to see balls hanging.

Ozpin in this show will be more serious more calculated and more cold. However I need some fun with the guy too since this is an Abridged. He will stay the same usually.
For his voice sound mature, and reasonable should be good with those as basis and maybe the original might be a good inspiration.

Ozpin: To learn that specific weapon, you must either have a death wish or something special about you

Jaune is a special character so I need the most variation with the voice in terms of accents. Jaune will be the clown that speaks in terrible accents to impress people but since he's never seen the city or many other people he doesn't know how to do them properly but he still tries.
Jaune should sound like a normal person too so don't over play his part just some parts it will be obvious if not I'll point it out in the script. Voice, close to the original is fine but it kinda doesn't matter since he will be changing it a lot.
Jaune: Hey! Need a hand? (Terrible mix of Italian and German)
Jaune: uh… that's all I have, (more depressed as he speaks) it was given to me from my grandfather, boring... right.
Jaune: Hey wait! Ugh I don't know what Bleach is am I suppose to drink it?
