Ruins of Tomorrow (Main Opening) [1 DAY📤]
Project Overview
RUINS OF TOMORROW (ROT) is a story-driven open-world survival game that follows Jack Fuller through the collapse of civilization and the years that follow.
The story begins as a mysterious infection spreads across the world, leaving society in ruins and the dead becoming violent creatures known as Rotters. Jack is forced to survive in a world he no longer recognizes, navigating abandoned cities, dangerous environments, scarce resources, hostile survivors, and the constant threat of infection.
Throughout his journey, Jack meets other survivors, forms friendships, builds a community, loses people he cares about, and faces choices that gradually change who he is. His family remains an important part of his story, but they are only one piece of a much larger journey.
RUINS OF TOMORROW is ultimately the story of one man's experience living through the apocalypse—from the moment everything falls apart to the final moments of his life. It explores survival, loss, loyalty, humanity, and the question of how much a person can endure before the world changes them forever.
Rotters are the Primary Antagonistic Force (World-Level) infected enemies found throughout RUINS OF TOMORROW.
We're looking for multiple voice actors to provide different Rotter sounds and vocalizations. This is not a traditional speaking role. You'll mainly be recording eerie, unsettling zombie-like sounds such as groans, rasps, strained breathing, growls, screams, and other nonverbal vocalizations.
The goal is something inspired by the grounded zombie sounds of The Walking Dead, but more eerie, unnatural, and unsettling. We want each Rotter to sound different, so having a unique voice is a plus.
What You'll Deliver:
Groans and low vocalizations
Raspy / strained breathing
Growls and guttural sounds
Louder screams or aggressive vocalizations
Other improvised infected sounds
Software Needed: Any clear recording software. Audacity, OBS, or even a phone recorder is fine as long as the audio is clean.
Project Type: Unpaid / Volunteer Indie Game
Role: Supporting / Crowd Voice Role. We're accepting multiple actors for this role.
Full voice credit will be provided.

Nicole Fuller — Ensemble Main Character
Nicole Fuller is an important ensemble character in RUINS OF TOMORROW, as well as Jack Fuller's wife and Liam Fuller's mother.
Nicole is a 29-year-old survivor from Miami, Florida. She is warm, grounded, and emotionally intelligent. Nicole is naturally supportive and caring, but she isn't afraid to speak up when something feels wrong. Her family is everything to her, and she wants to keep them not only alive, but emotionally connected and human.
She is calm under pressure and usually keeps her emotions controlled. When things become overwhelming, Nicole tends to become quieter rather than louder. She can be gentle and reassuring, but she is also capable of making difficult decisions when she has to.
Voice Characteristics:
Female, approximately late 20s–early 30s
Warm, mature, and natural
Calm and steady
Emotionally intelligent
Soft but confident
Caring and reassuring
Can become firm and serious when needed
Able to portray fear, stress, frustration, and sadness without overacting
Natural conversational delivery
Southern American accent, preferably Georgia
Emotional scenes should feel genuine and restrained
Nicole should sound like a real person and a mother, not a stereotypical "survivor" character. Her strength comes from how she handles difficult situations and keeps the people around her grounded.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who can make Nicole feel natural, warm, and emotionally believable.
Nicole has a strong emotional connection with Jack and Liam, so the actor needs to be comfortable with quieter, more personal scenes. Her performance should communicate love, concern, reassurance, frustration, and fear without making every scene overly dramatic.
The actor should also be able to show Nicole's strength when she needs to stand her ground. She isn't helpless or passive. She can disagree with Jack, challenge decisions, and make difficult choices while still feeling like the same character.
Subtle emotion is especially important for this role. Small changes in tone, pauses, and delivery should be enough to show what Nicole is feeling.
Demo / Audition Lines:
Please record the following lines in character:
"Jack, look at me. We're going to be okay."
"You can't keep shutting everyone out."
"Liam doesn't need to see this."
"I know you're trying to protect us. But you're changing."
"Whatever happens, we stay together."
For the audition, please try different levels of emotion while keeping Nicole's overall warm, grounded, and natural personality.
Software Needed:
No specific software is required. You may record using whatever software you're comfortable with, such as Audacity, OBS, or your phone's voice recorder, as long as the recording is clear.
Project Type:
Unpaid / Volunteer Indie Game
This is an indie project, so this role is currently unpaid. In exchange, you'll receive full voice-acting credit in the game and experience working on an original indie game project. This is a great opportunity for newer voice actors looking to build experience and a portfolio.
Role Importance:
⭐ ENSEMBLE MAIN CHARACTER ROLE
Nicole is an important character with a meaningful presence throughout the story. The selected actor should be comfortable committing to the project and potentially recording additional lines as the story develops.
Nicole's relationship with Jack and Liam is an important part of her character, and her interactions with Jack become increasingly important as the world around them changes.
About RUINS OF TOMORROW:

Nicole represents the emotional side of Jack's life and the family he is fighting to protect. Her character helps explore the human side of survival and what happens to relationships when everything familiar begins to disappear.

“Jack, please. Just listen to me for a second.”
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a young actor who can make Liam feel like a real 10-year-old caught in a world he doesn't fully understand.
Liam is curious, quiet, and emotionally sensitive. He isn't constantly crying or scared. A lot of his fear comes through in quieter ways, like hesitation, uncertainty, going silent, or looking to his parents for reassurance.
The actor should be able to show different sides of Liam, from normal childlike moments to fear, confusion, sadness, and trying to be brave.
Liam should sound natural and age-appropriate, not overly dramatic or like an adult trying to sound young.
Audition InstructionsPlease read the audition lines naturally and try a few different emotions for each one.
Focus on:
Natural childlike delivery
Genuine emotion
Hesitation and uncertainty
Fear without overacting
Quiet sadness
Moments of curiosity and innocence
Sounding like a real 10-year-old talking to his parents
For some lines, try imagining you're talking directly to Jack or Nicole. Liam is most comfortable around his parents, so his voice can become softer and more open with them.
Southern Georgian English accent preferred.

Eric Veynar — Ensemble Main Character
Eric Veynar is an important ensemble character in RUINS OF TOMORROW and Jack Fuller’s right-hand man and best friend since their time in the military.
Eric is 38 years old and originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He is a former military veteran who has learned how to stay calm and level-headed even when everything around him is falling apart. Unlike Jack, Eric is more emotionally balanced and often acts as the voice of reason within the group.
He believes survival should still mean something. Even in a world where doing the right thing can put everyone at risk, Eric tries to protect the group without completely losing his humanity.
Voice Characteristics:
Male, approximately 30s–40s
Low, mature, grounded, and natural-sounding
Calm and controlled most of the time
Quietly confident without sounding arrogant
Steady, measured delivery
Can be conversational and approachable
More emotionally balanced than Jack
Can become firm and serious when pushed, but shouldn't sound constantly aggressive
Emotional scenes should feel restrained and genuine rather than overly dramatic
Dry, subtle sense of humor
Southern American accent, specifically Georgia
Eric should sound experienced without sounding old. His voice should carry the feeling of someone who has been through difficult situations and learned to stay composed.
When Eric is stressed, he doesn't get louder. He gets quieter. He thinks before speaking and chooses his words carefully.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who can make Eric feel like a real person rather than simply "the military guy."
Eric is a capable survivor and natural leader, but his biggest strength is his ability to keep people grounded. He can de-escalate situations, communicate with others, and make difficult decisions while still considering the human cost.
Subtle emotion is especially important. Eric carries hidden guilt and tends to internalize pressure rather than openly expressing it. His strongest emotional moments should feel controlled, personal, and genuine.
The actor should also be able to portray Eric's relationship with Jack. These two have known each other since the military and have years of history together. Eric genuinely trusts Jack, but as Jack becomes increasingly hardened and begins making more extreme decisions, Eric becomes increasingly afraid that he is losing his best friend.
Eric should feel like someone the group naturally listens to and trusts.
For the audition, please try different levels of emotion while keeping Eric's overall calm and controlled personality.

⭐ ENSEMBLE MAIN ROLE
Eric is one of the major characters in the story and will have a significant amount of dialogue throughout the game. The selected actor should be comfortable committing to the project and potentially recording additional lines as the story develops.
Eric plays an important role in both Jack's story and the survivor group as a whole.

*Say something you think would fit*
Nelson French — Main Antagonist
Nelson French is one of the main antagonists of RUINS OF TOMORROW and a former ally of Jack Fuller.
Nelson is a 40-year-old survivor from Miami, Florida. He is calm, calculated, and controlled on the surface, but deeply pragmatic and morally flexible underneath. Nelson believes that survival requires structure, order, and difficult decisions rather than emotion or sentiment.
He is a strong leader and strategic thinker who has built his own survivor society around efficiency and control. He genuinely believes that his methods are necessary to create something that can survive long-term.
Voice Characteristics:
Male, approximately 30s–40s
Low, mature, and commanding
Calm and controlled
Calculated and deliberate delivery
Confident and authoritative without constantly sounding aggressive
Persuasive and convincing
Emotionally detached
Can become threatening or intimidating when pushed
Anger should feel controlled rather than explosive
Able to show subtle moments of doubt, frustration, and regret
Natural American accent, preferably fitting someone from Miami, Florida
Nelson should sound like someone who is always thinking several steps ahead. He doesn't need to yell to intimidate someone. His confidence and control should make his words feel important.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who can make Nelson feel like a real person rather than simply "the villain."
Nelson genuinely believes in what he's doing. He doesn't see himself as evil, and the actor should be able to communicate that. His decisions come from his belief that order and survival are more important than emotional attachment.
Persuasion is especially important for this role. Nelson should be able to sound reasonable and almost reassuring in one scene, then cold and threatening in another without feeling like a completely different character.
The actor should also be able to portray the conflict underneath Nelson's personality. Despite everything he has become, he still remembers the unity he once shared with Jack. There should be moments where his confidence cracks slightly, revealing the guilt, resentment, and doubt underneath.
For the audition, please try different levels of emotion while keeping Nelson's overall calm, controlled, and calculated personality.
Software Needed:
No specific software is required. You may record using whatever software you're comfortable with, such as Audacity, OBS, or your phone's voice recorder, as long as the recording is clear.

Jack Fuller — Lead Protagonist
Jack Fuller is the main protagonist of RUINS OF TOMORROW and the character the player experiences the story through.
Jack is a 27-year-old former U.S. military veteran and family man trying to survive after society collapses. He is vigilant, practical, reserved, and emotionally restrained. He rarely wastes words and tends to respond to stressful situations with action rather than emotion.
Voice Characteristics:
Male, approximately 20s–30s
Low, grounded, and natural-sounding
Calm and controlled most of the time
Short, clipped, practical delivery
Can become angry or intense when pushed, but shouldn't sound constantly aggressive
Emotional scenes should feel restrained and genuine rather than overly dramatic
Occasional dry/dark humor
An American Southern accent is preferred
Jack is not a stereotypical action hero. He's a normal family man who has been forced to become a survivor. As the story progresses, the actor will need to portray Jack becoming increasingly exhausted, hardened, distant, and emotionally conflicted.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who can make Jack feel like a real person rather than simply "the tough guy." Subtle emotion is especially important. Jack often keeps his feelings buried, so pauses, changes in tone, frustration, exhaustion, and quiet moments can be just as important as shouting.

Please record the following lines in character:
"Stay close."
"It ain't worth it."
"Easy. We're alright."
"I got it. Move."
