So what is Rifted?
The story takes place in a land protected by the Dravara, a military organization that defends against what haunts over the Rift.
Running from the required two years of service in the Dravara isn’t unusual, and oftentimes facing a bounty hunter is better than what lies east. Sixteen-year-old Evander makes the decision to flee, but in a tragic turn of events Evander is separated from his family, and Evander is left to fend for himself. However, running can’t go on forever, and Evander is forced to face a reality even more terrifying than being on his own. What prowls over the Rift quickly becomes more than just fairy-tale and he discovers that not everything is exactly as it seems.
What follows is nothing short of a revolution.

The story deals with many issues that people face themselves, some small while others are quite large and seem impossible to tackle head on. It explores ways of overcoming them, the hardships they cause and just what it means to be truly human, while also including a cast of predominantly LGBT+ characters, including the main character, as well as others from various minority groups.
For roles featuring a character of a certain background/sexuality, I encourage those sharing that with the character to apply! However, it's not a requirement, of course. (Ex. a gay man may audition for the role of a gay character, but sharing that sexuality is not a requirement to audition)

All accents welcome! I don't have specifics in mind for any of them!
Extra Requirements:
1. Clear mic quality (doesn't have to be perfect, but minimal or no background noise, no clipping, no echo)
2. Willingness to commit to longer term project. If you take a role, make sure you can keep working on this! In the event of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, obviously this is something that can be talked about/worked around!
3. Absolutely no hate/racism/homophobia will be tolerated. There will not be warnings. You will be removed. I want this to be a comfortable place for people, and I can't make this a good environment with bigotry present. For ALL ROLES and to be a part of this project, you must be LGBTQ+ friendly. Not willing to budge on this one.
4. Sounds cheesy, but I want everyone to have fun and feel like they're a part of this, not just reading lines without interacting with the others in the project. For this reason, have the ability to use discord so I can communicate with you and the rest of the cast.
5. I prefer working with people who are 18+. Please keep this in mind.

(angry) “You are lying to us. You are friends with the man who is her secondary, yes?”
(stern but not cruel) “The others will believe you were taken. Speak to her. No one else, understand?”
(embarrassed) “Yes, remove it. Hurry, it is not safe after dark.

- Rash, quick to make decisions
- Easily angered or scared
(unsure) “Back with your kind. He was left where he fell...unharmed.”
(commanding) “Stand, Aurora. I only wish to speak. No harm will come if you hear what I have to say.”
(annoyed) “For creatures who think so highly of themselves, you are…simple minded. I repeat and repeat and still you do not understand me. Do you?”
Lucius is a quiet soul. He's a young Dravara recruit that befriends Aurora while they're both stuck in an unfortunate predicament. He's very kind, soft-spoken, but witty and friendly once he gets comfortable. In the story, he doesn't serve a huge role in terms of lines, but does in term of story "weight".
Lucius is the one character I have a bit of an idea for what sort of voice I've seen him having.
Check out music by Cavetown (especially earlier stuff) for a bit of what I mean.
(nervous) “What did you say your name was?”
(on the verge of tears, terrified) “I-I’m scared. No, not just scared…I’m terrified. I can’t just sit here and wait for…” (trails off, takes a breath to steady himself) “I don’t want to die. There has to be some way out of here, right?”
(Strong) "Hope, sometimes hope is the best thing you can give."
Appears mostly in flashbacks.
Chief Officer before Daniel took over. Stern, not very good at expressing emotions to others, means well but doesn't always get that across. He's an older gentleman, but not a senior.
(falsely friendly) “I’ve met men with strange names before but not as strange as yours. The obnoxious one is Richard and the quiet one is Bradley. I’m Benjamin Hooke. We were told that there have been instances of runaways being harbored in this town. Do you, and of course you don’t, but do you know anything about that?”
(actually friendly)"You seem like a respectable boy. How old are you exactly? Must be getting close to sixteen now, aren’t you?
(commanding) “You stay out of this. I know these boys aren’t your sons, and I still can’t see why you’d defend them like this. Turn them over, you know the reward for doing that, don’t you?”
