Rifted was a series of novels I wrote a few years ago, but have since "retired".
I still like the story and I'd like to do something with it, so I'm taking a shot in the dark and going to try this avenue for it.
This will be for the PROLOGUE ONLY.
If it goes okay, I will post another call with additional roles/tasks.
So what is Rifted?
The story takes place in a land protected by the Dravara, a military organization that defends against what haunts over the Rift.
Running from the required two years of service in the Dravara isn’t unusual, and oftentimes facing a bounty hunter is better than what lies east. Sixteen-year-old Evander makes the decision to flee, but in a tragic turn of events Evander is separated from his family, and Evander is left to fend for himself. However, running can’t go on forever, and Evander is forced to face a reality even more terrifying than being on his own. What prowls over the Rift quickly becomes more than just fairy-tale and he discovers that not everything is exactly as it seems.
What follows is nothing short of a revolution.

The story deals with many issues that people face themselves, some small while others are quite large and seem impossible to tackle head on. It explores ways of overcoming them, the hardships they cause and just what it means to be truly human, while also including a cast of predominantly LGBT+ characters, including the main character, as well as others from various minority groups.
For roles featuring a character of a certain background/sexuality, I encourage those sharing that with the character to apply! However, it's not a requirement, of course. (Ex. a gay man may audition for the role of a gay character, but sharing that sexuality is not a requirement to audition)

The prologue is not very long, so I'm using this as a test run of sorts.
All accents welcome! I don't have specifics in mind for any of them!
Looking for narration like the descriptive text featured in Marvel's Daredevil Netflix show. You won't be reading like an audio book, instead just giving basic visual descriptions of things and the rest of the scene will play out through the other's work.

Aurora looked up ahead, seeing where the trees thinned to reveal an abandoned fire pit, sticking out from beneath the snow that had fallen the night before. He pulled his hat down, spurring his horse forward as they reached it and dismounting once he was close enough to see the embers still burning.
The other prisoner was quiet, sliding back down the wall again with a groan. Aurora frowned, folding the cloth back over the bundle again and turning to the boy quaking against the stone.
Rowena watched the girl as she squared herself to the target, close enough to where anyone, even the boys snickering behind her, wouldn’t have too much trouble hitting it. Her arm raised but the shot was delayed while she steadied herself, eyeing the target until finally the gun went off and a satisfying crack rang out from where it struck the post the target was propped up on.

Aurora has a very loud personality even if he's rather soft spoken himself. He likes to crack jokes when he can, but struggles connecting to people on emotional levels and tends to cling very tightly to one person because of this. He's sarcastic, a bit of an ass, even to those he cares about, and tends to turn situations into "joking" out of panic or not knowing what to do. That being said, he's loyal to a fault and loves deeply.
He's the main character, and if you get this role and decide to continue, you will also potentially have to voice a younger version of the character as well
Similar character mannerisms: Doc Holiday (Tombstone 1993), Deadpool (2016)
You MUST be okay with playing an openly gay character for this role. I'd love to be able to cast a gay actor, but again, not a requirement to play him.
You MUST be okay with swearing and some pg-13 sexual language from this character, just things he says.

“You’re just too clever for me to understand it seems. Who are you doing this for? Surely, not yourself.”
(said mockingly to the other character speaking to him)
“Vex it all, you can keep that, I’m not hungry.” (forlorn, very quiet and sounding like he's almost mumbling or given up on speaking loudly)
(laugh) “Says the one leaving a man too weak to stand chained to a wall. Doesn’t that seem dramatic to you?” (tone falls drastically and he goes from laughing to hollow) “Vex it all, never mind. I understand. Are you afraid of me, Daniel?”
EXTRA (OPT):
"Fire away!" (a challenge, obnoxious and smug)
Daniel is something of a foil to Aurora.
He's cautious, probably too much for his own good, and he aims to please. He doesn't do well without direction, likes being able to follow, and doesn't ask questions. Daniel is perfectly comfortable watching from the sidelines, but he doesn't often get the chance due to his choice in friends. He's a bit of a nervous wreck, and has habits like rubbing the back of his neck while he talks and some mild verbal ticks when he gets stressed. (sucking air through his teeth, making small noises, etc)
You MUST be okay with playing a bisexual character for this role. Again, you don't have to be bi to audition, but I'd like to cast a bi actor if possible.
You MUST be okay with swearing and some pg-13 language (less than Aurora, mostly defusing things)
I'm open to any and all accents for BOTH of them. Feel free to audition even if it doesn't match the "accent" marker.
“I’m not doing this for you actually.” (a bit haughty, like he thinks he's being clever)
“You have to understand what kind of a position this puts me in. If she finds out where you are...she’ll kill me.” (very nervous, a bit angry)
“Just…everything, I don’t know! It would keep you out of trouble.” (exasperated, think hands in his hair distressed)
What it says on the tin! Looking for somebody up for assistance in editing lines together.
