Promotional Animated Shorts - Biofin Corp

Project Overview

To promote the release of my ongoing graphic novel coming to print in 2019, I am working out a handful of brief animated shorts for promotional material, and gaining traction for what may become a broader animated series down the road.

I'm looking for talented actors to take on the roles of the flamboyant lead character Flinn, his eccentric friend and roommate Riley, and their soft-spoken pal, Zachary. The setting takes place in a semi-dystopian underwater world with fish-people, and if that interests you, we'd love to have you in the Biofin family.

  • Auditions closed!

    Firstly, everyone who auditioned deserves a huge thanks; the immense interest taken in this project was unexpected, and even with just a handful of lines to work with, so many of you brought an impressive amount of creative individuality and range to each character. I'm still reeling over it. Given that we've received 250+ auditions in less than a month, it's going to take us a while to sort through each one and narrow down our casting choices. Confirmation messages to those who got the part they auditioned for should be sent out within the next week. If you do not receive one, we still cannot begin to express how much we appreciate your interest and the work you put in for Biofin Corp! Seriously, thank-you guys! As for those we're casting, we'll be in touch!

Flinn is the story's main lead, and can be described as flamboyant, egotistic, and theatrical. He is a supervisor in Biofin Corp's oral biology faction, as well as a tryhard chemist with a rooted interest in cosmetic science. "He's resolute and versatile in any craft he sets his mind to," -Flinn.

Note: a North American accent is preferable, but English is also acceptable given your performance suits the character. His voice should sound light, plummy, and almost sing-song.

  • It all dates back to a week and two days ago. I present... A beauty serum most utterly flawless!

  • (Solemn) I didn't mean for that--this--to happen. What can I do to make it up to you?

Riley is Flinn's roommate, and best friend. She's described as eccentric, enthusiastic about her passions, and often playfully sarcastic. A caring friend, she'd help you bandage a paper cut, but you'll have to fight to convince her not to eat week-old leftovers.

It's also important to note that Riley is a trans woman. If you can portray her personality in a way that's suiting, I'm content with both more masculine, and feminine voices. Keep in mind she's very energetic, and the best comparison in media I've found is Vanellope Von Schweetz, from Disney's Wreck-it-Ralph.

  • Wow! It's a natural marvel you haven't been fired yet!

  • I'm starting to notice this pattern, where you'll do anything to reach your goals... But it's at the expense of people around you.

  • Zachary...! What do YOU call these? (Riley is pointing to her boots)

Zachary is slightly soft-spoken, anxious, definitely leans on the nervous side, but is still friendly and outgoing nonetheless. Zachary is one of the corporation's pharmacists, and very adamant about the well-being of his friends and loved ones. He's probably vegan.

I currently need only one voiceline out of Zachary, but it's likely that there will be a demand more down the road.
