This project is a collaboration between Kenz Studios (an upcoming indie game studio) and FanficRadio (voice acting and sound direction studio)
What can you tell me about the game?
Kenz Studios is an upcoming indie game studio working on the pilot of their Dungeons based RPG. The pilot will be released for free on PC (goal right now is through Steam and Windows Store) as well as on Xbox (through the Creators Program) to test the market's interest. If the release is successful, the goal will be to then release the full game through Xbox, Windows Store and Steam.
The game engine (both level and combat) is 80% done. The story and the script of the first episode are 99% complete and the team figured now would be a good time to start the casting process.
Would I get paid?
Yes and No.
Seeing that this is a free to play pilot that will be used to test the waters and request funding (somewhat like a demo but actually a full episode), the developer is working on this on the side for now, with no funding, paying out of pocket for any tools and tech needed to make the game happen. As a result, should you get cast, you won't be paid for this first episode.
When the game starts getting a full release, should you and the team agree that your recordings will carry over, the plan would be to have actual paid roles at that point.
Expectations once cast:
Once cast, we'll provide you with a link to the script with the scenes your character is in along with directions and background of what is going on and how the character is feeling at that point.
We need to make sure to be respectful of your time, as well as other actors' , the developers and the writer, so please make sure to follow the deadlines once cast. If you can't, you'll need to inform us as soon as possible to plan accordingly.
The expected turnaround time is currently 30 days.
Things to note before auditioning:
1. Please make sure to check the description and the reference for each character. As all characters are original, we don't expect you to match the references 100%, but they are a great guidance for what the developer team is looking for.
2. Please use a clean, clear recording with as little noise as possible as that's an example of the quality you're going to be using in the actual recordings.
In this game, the player can choose between a male and a female character. This role is specific to the male auditions.
The protagonist assumes the role of a psuedo-leader as he tries to uncover the secrets and untangle the web of lies haunting the town he's in. Despite his eventual leadership position, he is far from the solemn confident leader we're more accustomed to. He is mostly lost, easy to surprise and well ... he's very expressive. He tends to lose his cool despite his efforts resulting in his voice somewhat breaking in those situations.
He definitely doesn't have a deep, confident voice. His voice can actually sometimes make you think he's a teen.

Dustin in an AI companion that is always around to help the protagonist. The protagonist is unfortunately stuck with him but Dustin tries to make their partnership ... enjoyable.
Even though, he's technically a robot of sorts, he actually sounds human. An annoying, always positive human. He sounds calm, collected and pleasant at all times to everyone's annoyance.
All in all, a trollish professional AI assistant. Think a male Cortana or Alexa.
(Oblivious to the annoyance in his partner's voice) Looking up "my name" (pauses) No results found.

Jake is ... interesting. He is the protagonist's first loyal friend in this town of creeps. He is excitable, easily distracted and energetic. Very expressive and very funny when he's not trying too much. He's considered himself a failure so far even though he feels he's tried his best so there are times when you will detect a sad tone from him. Usually, however, he's upbeat.

Amanda is a strong, intelligent young lady. She knows how to stay calm in the face of imminent danger and can keep a cool head under pressure. If she has to knock some sense into someone, she will wholeheartedly. She and Jake seem to have some ... unresolved issues so she will take stabs at him whenever possible.
She has a higher pitched voice that would make her sound younger than she is but make no mistake, she is dead serious.

Kasser is a dangerous being who makes a minor appearance in the first episode but plays a very major role in the future episodes. He is intimidating and will drop fear into anyone's heart just be existing. His words are weighed and seem to be picked very carefully.
He has a deeper voice that can carry threatening tones.

Julia is a serious no nonsense young lady. She seems to know exactly what she's doing and her voice carries over a calm, somewhat emotionless at times. She makes minor appearances in the first episode but plays a major role in the later episodes.
Her voice tends to be smooth and almost ... mysterious? That being said, you can catch her offguard at times and completely break her cool either by making her very angry ... or making her laugh hard.

A creepy, smooth talking man. One word from him and you will know you're in danger even if you have no idea what he's up to. His presence sends chills down your spine. He seems to hate the protagonist for one reason or another. But who is he?
He tends to have a deeper voice though the important thing the team is looking for is the creepy factor.

May is a supporting character all through the series. She assists the protagonist and his friends throughout their journey.
She is a geek at heart and a caring, sweet person all the time. She likes to joke around softly when she can and you can sense her good nature from the very beginning.

Kayden is a hunter who always seems to be wherever the protagonist are for one reason or another. He doesn't seem dangerous but he also can be a bit aggravating. He seems to be very interested in the protagonist.
He tends to speak casually presenting a very laid back manner ... even when he is 100% trying to kill you.
In a way you get a ... stereotypical care salesman vibe from him. A very dangerous one that can kill you.
The team said they don't imagine him with a deep voice. The most important thing for them is how he delivers his lines. The casual laid back attitude is what defines him the most.
