On the Clock: An Animated Student SGA Film

Project Overview

This project is for an animated student film, an SGA Thesis Film. The project has an estimated final run time of around 3-5 minutes, and will be completed by early April 2025. Production on the film has already started, and I'm looking for talented voice actors to work with for this fun project!

In a world where superpower and superheroes are real, not everyone lives the super lives one would expect. The two main characters of this project are assigned to work a mission together: investigate a local club in search of a dangerous crime boss.

    Hello everybody! I cannot express how thankful I am for all of your continued support and the amazing talent all of you provide! The project submission deadline is coming soon, so I wanted to make this post as one last thank you for everyone’s time, support, and care towards the project!

  • Project Deadline Change

    Hey everybody! First off, WOW! Thanks for the insane amount of support for this project, it really means the world to me that so many people are interested and supporting my work.

    Because of the extremely positive submissions and the sheer amount I have recieved, it has been decided that the submissions for this project will be closed early. AUDITIONS/SUBMISSIONS WILL CLOSE ON SEPTEMBER 22ND.

Gazer is an alien prince and brother of one of the world’s greatest superheroes. While his brother was gifted with amazing powers and personality, Gazer on the other hand is far less special. Nowadays he does whatever he feels like with a very laid back personality, often thinking in the moment and not for the long term. Easily distracted, his focus often shifts from thing to thing mid conversation if he’s not invested enough. Although not having any stunning powers to note, his greatest power is perhaps how fast he can annoy someone and get on their nerves. Him and Bugsy have a coworker kind of relationship, with the potential for them to somehow become friends even underneath. Well, maybe someday at least.


No specific notes, looking for a performance that is comedic and a bit of a loser yet not over the top. Keep it grounded in the sense that it still feels like a real person speaking at the end of the day. A bit lower and gruff tone, although open to any performances.  Good starting places for performance inspiration: Grunkle Stan (Gravity Falls), Rick Sanchez (Rick & Morty), Star Lord (Guardians of the Galaxy), Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.

  • LONG STORY SHORT TELLING OF MISSION BRIEFING, ENDING WITH A CORNY MOB BOSS ACCENT: Crime boss, got it. So we’re looking for a short guy in a fancy suit with a big mustache and a hat saying stuff like “These guys’ll be sleeping with the fishes soon enough,”.

  • SCANNING THE CROWD FOR ANYONE OUT OF THE ORDINARY: Ok, let’s see. Lookin’ for a weirdo. Weirdo. Someone weird. Not weird. Not weird. [spots funny looking guy] Ugh! Now that’s a weirdo alright. Not what I need though.

  • COMFORTING/SINCERE: Hey. You good?

Bugsy is a human born with a mutation that gave her certain abilities. While not necessarily ‘super’ powers, this mutation gave her antennae on her head as well as retractable insect legs on her back. Often seen as a bit of an outcast, Bugsy mainly keeps to herself and can come off as very standoffish. Not often willing to put up with antics, she keeps herself focused straight forward, wanting to get the job done as soon as possible. In and out, just like that. Her and Star Gazer have a coworker kind of relationship, with him often getting on her nerves and her having to keep him focused on work. Despite their back and forths, there's a sense of a potential real friendship forming underneath her persona she puts up.


No specific notes, looking for a performance that is a little more grounded and real sounding, while still being able to act comedically at times. Keeping the comedic and fun tone underneath the performance, also make sure to keep it real; even though it can be over the top, I still want it to feel like a real person at times. Voice can be a bit short tempered with a bit of an edge to it. Good starting places for performance inspiration: Rosa Diaz (Brooklynn 99), Gamora (Guardians of the Galaxy), Jill Valentine (Resident Evil), Makoto Niijima (Persona).

  • REVIEWING MISSION BRIEF: Alright, so according to our intel, one of the city's top crime bosses has been seen recently hanging around this place. All we need to do is find out more about this guy and gather what we can.

  • TIRED/LAMENTING: Why couldn’t I have done this job alone?

  • EXHAUSTED/DOUBTING HERSELF: Yeah I’m fine, I just needed some air. Ugh, I’m so bad at this! We’re never going to find this guy.

Your typical run of the mill underground crime boss. What makes him unique from other mob bosses? He has a sentient clock for a head. A short and funny seeming individual in a fancy suit, despite his looks he is very dangerous. 


General stereotypical crime boss almost god father like accent. He is focused on himself and himself foremost. He HATES wasting time. Open to other types of performances as well.
