Project Overview
Before Phineas Tanner descended into The Caverns and faced its secrets, there was, Maya Lotaam. Fresh out of university as a young woman, she is abducted by a mysterious group called Sanctuary. Her father Jerome Lotaam is facing the fact of truly being alone, all the while being watched himself by an unknown foe. Sanctuary's' motives are not yet known, but what they unearth will change everyone forever.
This is the second and final prelude before "Vestige."
There is a discord server for the project. I would strongly advise you to join if you are cast, as that is the easiest place for me to communicate to everyone. No need to worry about constant notifications, as i'm usually the only one posting there.

Jerome Lotaam, is Maya's father. He loves his daughter, but his past and who he's lost have deeply impacted him. He works for the Galactic Intelligence Committee (GIC). He is secretive with his work, and knows more about Sanctuary than he would like too. His morals lie elsewhere as he leads covert ops for the GIC. He is a father, so his voice and how he comes across should reflect that. His age range is mid 30s. (Pronounced Low-tom)
Yes…yes I understand. Quota’s need to be met, but the seismic activity on Nessus and the outer rim is like nothing we’ve seen. Send a team out there, see if they——-(audible sigh) Shaye, I don’t care what they have to say, now please do it. Here she comes, I’ll talk later. (He rushes at the end, he is talking to someone, and trying to keep it a secret).
Maya, I love you so much and I’m so proud of you. You and your friends please stay safe. Phone me when you settle in? (tender, he won’t be seeing her for awhile.)
Kind of. Haven’t seen you in a while Mercer, you coming back to the GIC anytime soon. It’s been years. (He hasn’t seen his friend in a long while)

The enigmatic and mysterious head of the Wallace Corporation. Think Eldon Tyrell, Niander Wallace, Mercurio Arboria, Mr. Wallace is never seen in this project, though, his work and his constituency are paving the way for science and "hope" in the tulmotous galaxy around them. While he isn't seen in this film, his voice is heard, and his business venture the "Wallace Corporation" are beginning a new venture. A new age of enlightenment of sorts. A new vision. Sanctuary.
His voice should carry weight and gravitas. A proper, professional, well kept man. Vocal references can be found in: Colm Feore, Idris Elba's "Shere Khan", Clayton from Disney's "Tarzan". He is a secretive man, he needs no sound smooth and sophisticated. He is definitely hiding ulterior motives.
- Clear audio & good mic quality IS A MUST.
(speaking as if he is in front of a crowd)
Let it be known that on this day, we, together as one body...one mind...one Sanctuary. Will overcome these heinous accusations and establish ourselves as a beacon of hope to all those in need...Give a short monologue. Something villainous. Speak with power.

The scientist that will lead Maya to her long awaited experiment. She is one of the last living souls Maya will see. Her voice should be that of a warm tone. She is seasoned, but feels for Maya in some way, though they are much different.
A young psychologist at Sanctuary, she sees herself in Maya, we will learn later on why she cares for Maya, and why what happens to her affects Angela greatly.
Her age range is late 20s.
Voice should be soothing, yet stern and to the point. Dr. Augustine is young but she is seasoned. Don't be afraid to evoke some emotion.

Lotaam, Maya #6154. My name is Dr. Angela Augustine, we're ready for you. Please come with me. (Warm tone, speak like this is routine for you) (pronounced Low-Tom)
Yes sir, I have her. Yes, Dr. Sterling, they are aware. Security team 3 is on stand-by should things go awry. Nothing from Dr. Keenan yet. (Again speak from a position of routine).
Maya, I'm-I'm sorry. Sorry this happened to you. Sorry that you were lost for our gain. That we robbed you of your life. (She is feels stricken with grief here, angry that they lost her.)
Her vitals are flatlining, Doctor! Doctor We're losing her! (Frantic)
She--She's gone...(shocked)
Doctor wait. Something's coming through.

Mercer, is as equally shady as Sanctuary and its doctors. He is an on and off friend to Jerome, they were close at the Galactic Intelligence Committee (GIC). It's hard to tell if Mercer is finding success as a mole inside Sanctuary or if he's working off his own agenda. He finds Jerome a mere days before Maya's scheduled "experiment". Warning Jerome of the possible outcomes of his choices.
His voice should be one that you hear and you think of trouble. His age range is late 20s-mid 30s.
Apologies for the unorthodox entrance. Did I startle you? (snarky)
Saw your friend outside. Shaye is it? (snarky)
Likely not. I came to warn you. (snarky)
Your daughter! You sure you want to go through with this? (questioning tone)
Jerome, it's your kid. You're speaking as if she's gonna be the same, if she's gonna live? I've seen kids not come back at all. The lucky ones, are like zombies, fried to hell. (he changes to a shocked and confused approach.)

Tania is Maya's mother. Highly revered by her family and those around her. We only briefly see here in flashbacks, though, her voice helps in opening the project. A loving mother, but hard-working and determined person as a whole. Loved by Maya and Jerome, her disappearance is a mystery that has yet to be solved.
Her voice should be motherly (warm, soothing calming to listen to). Voice needs to be clear and authoritative when necessary. Tania, though she isn't around currently, carries a large presence when she speaks. Her age range is same as Jerome's, mid 30s.
(Fighting back tears, her child was just born) Let me see her. (sigh) She's beautiful. She has your eyes, Jerome, and that nose! (laugh)
Maya. Maya Lotaam. (Speak softly, like she is calming her child down.) (pronounced Low-tom)
(warm tone) Maya, my sweet child. You constantly grow. Like a butterfly, perched along the water's edge. Still, unwavered. It's beauty radiant, but fleeting . Soon Maya, you will transform, shed the weight of this world.

Desmond, is a mysterious character. He meets Jerome shortly after Maya's birth. We are lead to believe he is a new father as well, but, we quickly learn that Agent Arthur knows a lot more about Jerome than he would like. Desmond's mood and tone shifts periodically as he begins to warn Jerome of some serious cause and effects. Desmond is meant to be vague in his description and dialogue. He is not a good man by any means. When he speaks, you know that negativity and darkness radiate from him. He works in Internal Affairs with the Galactic Intelligence Committee (GIC).
**This character will return in a future project.**
His voice changes as he speaks with Jerome. Should start out as easy-going, smooth, shift to stern, end with some arrogance.
His age range is late 20s-early 30s.

This hospital, these doctors, aren't what they seem. But it's too late...she's ours now.

We never see the news anchor, thought they are the first and last voice we hear in the project. Voice should be something pleasant to hear. Clear mic quality is a must (no static, background noise.) Not so much a specific voice, something professional, but not cheesy. Multiple takes encouraged!
In other news the GIC is reporting Khorovo (pronounced Core-oh-foe) and the rest of the outer rim is logging a 2.5% increase in its magnetic radiation. The harvesting of Arc energy as a renewable resource is seeing resounding success. Meanwhile, the Sanctuary corporation is seeking Venus as a prominent hub for its new research facility. Discussions have begun.
Concerns over Khorovo’s (pronounced Core-oh-foe) hospitable environment since the rupture are present. Regardless, their orbital platforms have been open to all replenishment vessels from Earth and beyond. Operatives from the Earth Intelligence Bureau have been dispatched across the galaxy.
