About the Series:

The Target is a deeply emotional and immersive audio drama with elements of audio roleplay, told from the perspective of Sean Prescott, a college student navigating identity, connection, and rejection.

Though the story is told in the present tense, it recounts events that have already happened — making it a hybrid format between real-time storytelling and voiceover-style narration, similar to what you’d hear in a cinematic voiceover. It’s not linear like an audiobook; rather, it flows with Sean’s emotions, memories, and direct conversations with the listener and other characters.

Sean is part of the LGBTQ+ community, and although he identifies as gay, this aspect of his identity is known to very few in his environment. Throughout the series, he will face inner conflicts and difficult moments of rejection — particularly from his father and parts of his college circle.

The listener character is part of the Deaf community, which plays a meaningful role in how the story unfolds.

Alongside the lead role, the series includes a cast of supporting voice actors who are already attached to the project. As the story develops, new characters will be introduced, and additional roles will be cast progressively throughout the production.

This is not an NSFW series. However, some scenes include mature themes and sensual content, such as explicit narrative descriptions and emotionally intimate moments. These are always handled within the context of the story and character development — similar to the style found in modern romance literature. Kissing sounds, moans, or breathy lines may be required. Candidates must be fully comfortable with this kind of content.

Role Description: Sean Prescott (Lead)

We are seeking a male voice actor (24–32 voice range) to portray Sean, a thoughtful, introspective, and vulnerable character whose emotional depth is at the heart of the series.

Sean is self-aware, and often caught between who he wants to be and what others expect from him. The role requires someone who can switch seamlessly between narration, internal monologue, and direct emotional dialogue, with subtle emotional shifts.

You’ll need to deliver everything from quiet longing to raw heartbreak — all with authenticity.

Recording Process:

  • The series will follow a rolling production schedule, with scripts being written progressively and episodes recorded one at a time throughout the production period.

  • After each episode is recorded and revised (if needed), it immediately moves to post-production.

  • Scripts are written progressively and delivered one week before each recording.

  • The entire project will span from May to August 2025.

To ensure consistency and the best possible audio quality, selected actors will be asked to:

  • Watch a short technical video explaining best recording practices

  • Attend a Q&A session with our sound engineer (mandatory)

Requirements:

  • Excellent emotional range

  • Previous experience in audio dramas or similar formats is a plus

  • Must possess or have access to quality recording equipment (home studio or equivalent), including:

    • Professional microphone

    • Audio interface

    • Treated or sound-dampened recording space

  • Auditions with noticeable background noise, interference, echo, or poor clarity unfortunately will not be considered, regardless of performance quality.
