Hi there!Thank you for your audition.I thought it was quite good, with some nice nuance and real sensitivity. The issue, unfortunately, is that your mic seems to be either very sensitive or not ideally positioned, you seem to be hitting it quite often, and it also picks up a lot of breath sounds, movement, and even the sound of pages being turned while you read the script.I’d recommend avoiding page turns while recording, as it can interfere with the performance. That said, it’s a strong foundation, and with some adjustments to your setup, you could get a much cleaner result.Thank you all the same!
Also, be careful, your gain varies quite a bit throughout the recording. It’s better to keep it as consistent as possible unless the scene specifically calls for it to be lower or higher.
Hello, Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it!
So I did in fact record half of that audition without my pop guard on my mic so my plosives may have been coming in a little hot. In addition, I simply sent raw audio with no compression so the dynamic range probably wasn't Ideal for a speaking role. I am a musician/ audio engineer in my free time. I would be happy to take another crack at it and try to get you a more consistent and professional sounding recording if you would be at all interested in reconsidering.
If not, thanks for the time and consideration anyways!
