Paid: Flat Rate 175 USD
Role assigned to: AlexMox

Male character, 20s to early 30s.
Voice should feel natural, warm, and emotionally grounded, with the ability to shift between introspective narration and heartfelt dialogue.

Sean is a college student at a small-town college in Pennsylvania, where he’s also the captain of the Black Falcons, the school’s football team. The story is told through his voice, intimate, reflective, and often directly addressed to the listener, who is part of the Deaf community and someone Sean once deeply loved.

This is a cinematic audio drama with a strong emotional arc. The actor must be comfortable performing both narration and emotionally intense scenes, including tender, romantic, and vulnerable moments.

Keep in mind: This is a cinematic, character-driven story — not an animated or theatrical piece.
Please aim for a grounded, natural performance, similar to what you’d hear in films like Normal People, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Call Me by Your Name or The Social Network.
Avoid cartoonish or overly exaggerated deliveries.
Think subtle, real, and genuine — like you're speaking to someone right in front of you.

Of course!First, on the technical side, there’s a lot of background noise in your recording, which is probably why you had to cut the lines in your audio. The issue is that the more background noise there is, the more work is needed in post-production, and the higher the risk of altering your voice during cleanup, which can make it sound robotic or less natural.

As for the acting, you didn’t record all the scenes, so I couldn’t get a full sense of your range. From what I could hear, the interpretation leaned a bit too much toward a documentary style; very upbeat and high-pitched, almost like giving a campus tour, rather than seeing the world through Sean’s eyes and capturing his personality. This might be because you didn’t read the full scenes and therefore missed some of the nuances about his temperament, which is actually more sarcastic.

What’s needed is more of an inner monologue feel, as if Sean were talking to himself in the mirror, or like the listener is hidden in his backpack, catching his thoughts on the fly. Here, there was mostly one emotion, very upbeat, and for example, the "Right, baby" line in Scene 1 felt too sensual and whispered, when it should feel more like a glance in the mirror before quickly jumping back into the flow. The sudden shift back to the very high-pitched, cheerful tone creates a contrast that doesn’t feel natural in the performance.

If audio drama is something you’re interested in pursuing, my advice would be to watch how some great actors build their characters, observe how they show emotions and move physically.Even without visuals, voice acting remains very "visual" in a sense: if you can’t visualize the scene in your head, it’s harder to fully project yourself into it and to bring your character to life.

I hope this feedback helps you!
