Project Overview

INTRODUCTION

Hello, everyone! This casting call is for a new startup called Learnatric. We are building a product that teaches math to Pre-K to 3rd graders. We want two actors: a male and a female teacher to instruct basic math to kids. We are happy to pay per lesson produced and want to determine the price via conversation with you.


WHAT TO EXPECT UPON BEING HIRED

Our education team will upload batches of lesson scripts to our Google Drive. I'll then send you a notifying email, letting you know that a batch of lessons has been uploaded. You record and upload the audio files in a separate folder in our Google Drive.

We will send each voice actor ~210 lessons total. A lesson consisted of multiple audio files. The first included direct instruction, and the average is about 2:30 minutes. The next 2-3 audio files are about 15-30 seconds each. And then most lessons will have another set of 1-3 audio files that are about 10 seconds each. The lessons we have recorded so far are ~5:35 each (which includes the various audio files).

~5.55 minutes per lesson * 286 lessons = ~1,587.3 minutes of audio files

~1,587.3 minutes / 60 minutes = ~26.5 hours of audio files

Because this is for teaching Pre-K to 3rd graders, we are looking for it to be read slowly, clearly and as a teacher would speak.

First and foremost, have fun--we take pride in what we're doing and hope to make a big impact in the lives of kids.

  • Submit a recording of the below. You do not need to record the entire script.
  • Please submit a clean recording on a good mic. We do not want to use post-production techniques.
  • Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes.

SCRIPT FOR AUDITION

Today, we are going to compare numbers. We're going to need to use the skills we've been learning. Remember when we looked at these signs: greater than, less than and equal to? [Pause]

Sometimes, we call numbers numerals. Numeral is a math word for the symbol we use to write down numbers. I bet you recognize these numerals: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
