Hello, there! My name is Zak Not Kyle, or Zak for short. I am currently seeking to find a team of voice actors for my indie roguelike RPG game, Neon NightZ. This game will feature both a full story mode and individual character stories. I’m looking for the next group of parts to be filled by diverse talents and voices. Please read further if you are interested!
IMPORTANT NOTES
PAYMENT
This is a paid project with a rate of 15 cents per word. Each character averages around 500 words that will need full voice acting. They also will need sound effects like battle cries, grunts, etc. Minor characters average around 250 words and may be added as major characters later down the line in future casting calls. All payment is handled through PayPal unless otherwise arranged.
WHAT I ASK OF YOU
I am looking for voice actors with high quality microphone and booth setups to seamlessly incorporate their voices into the game. No specific microphone or setup is required, as long as it is high quality.
Voice actors will be chosen within a one week timeframe of the deadline ending.
Feel free to record multiple takes of your audition lines! It helps me see what your range looks like and if you could also be suitable for other roles.
With scenes that use multiple characters, further discussion on group sessions will be had after role selection.
FUTURE CASTING CALLS
This is labeled as Casting Call B. There will be further castings in the future as more characters for the game are added and worked on. If you don't make it for the roles listed this time around, feel free to audition again for the next casting call! This will be the last casting call for a little while since this group of character will fill out the final roster.
GAME OVERVIEW
Neon NightZ is an upcoming roguelike RPG project by new indie developer, Zak Not Kyle. Using elements of traditional RPG design, pixel art and animation and a race-against-the-clock approach to the roguelike format, this new title allows you to control celebrities, brawlers and criminals to answer the question of what people would do to gain money, power and fame.
PLOT OVERVIEW
In a near distant future, there resides a city that doesn’t sleep despite never seeing daylight. This city is illuminated under an infrastructure of renewable neon energy coursing through the streets. Home to a melting pot of people from all sorts of backgrounds, this metropolitan cybernetic haven is known as NeoCity. Their renewable energy fueled by hydro powered dams creates enough energy to keep the city permanently illuminated in darkness.
The renewable energy’s excess materializes into a consumable source of power for people to harness. Every year, to get rid of the excess, a tournament known as the Neon Fights Tournament is held. Everyone wants this source of energy or the million dollar cash prize offered to each of the winners. What the winner does with the money is their choice, as is the power.
Your goal is to come out of this tournament with the money, the power and the fame. Assemble a team of celebrities, moguls, criminals and more in a race against the clock to win it all for whatever goals (or misdeeds) you want!
The pressure is on, and the fight is, too. Who will you lead to victory?
Additional side note: since the assets for these characters are still in development, I added the concept art for the character profile pictures instead of their final portraits.

Wanted to give you guys some quick updates for the auditions and casting process. I have casted 12/19 of the positions so far. Due to some real life complications, it is taking me a little longer to get through the submissions for the final roles. Thank you all for getting us to over 4,000 submissions! We've got a few more days for you guys to get your submissions in, so get any auditions in ASAP! I've gone through over 1,000 of them so far with more reviewing to come. You guys should hear back about whether you make it into the project by October 7th.
The Kickstarter for the game is currently slated to be up before the end of the year, but there's been lots of internal changes with the art team and work being done to tidy up the prototype for you all! I'm excited for you guys to see the amazing work we've all put into the game.
