Gundham Tanaka, the Ultimate Breeder and future ruler of the cosmos (or so he claims), awakens one morning to embark on a legendary quest. A quest for a treasure that man has lusted after for millenia. A quest that shall alter the course of history, and change Jabberwock Island forever.
So shall it be, then. Let the quest begin once more.
So, what's exactly going on here?
Gundham's Calamitous Quest for Coochie is a sequel to the 2018 fangame Korekiyo's Epic Quest for Pussy, and will be based around the characters, setting, and canon of Danganronpa 2. It's an RPG being made in RPG Maker MV, like its predecessor, and will be filled with combat, bosses, and lots of funny jokes.
This game will be fully voice acted, much like KEQFP. However, with that game, I did most of the voices myself - that's not going to be the case this time around. This is where you come in! I'm going to need voice actors to lend me a hand in voicing this game's characters. This is your chance to make history!
What do I need to know about the game before auditioning?
This is not a long term project. The game will be finished by the end of the summer, and the voice acting script will be finished by the casting date - so you won't be waiting around forever for work. There won't be any explicit/sexual content in this game, but plenty of profanity and dirty jokes - keep that in mind before auditioning. Also, you don't need to have any prior knowledge of Danganronpa or Korekiyo's Epic Quest for Pussy to audition, but familiarity with Danganronpa 2's characters will certainly help you out..
Also worth mentioning is that the lines in this casting call are taken directly from the script (but many are slightly altered), which should help you get a general idea of the game's feel/humor. I've also included the general amount of voice lines each character is expected to have, but this is just a rough estimation.
What do I need to know specifically to audition?
- Even though the characters listed already have established canon voices, you do not need to be a perfect voice match to be considered. If you think you can put a different spin on a character while keeping their personality intact, I encourage you to go for it. In lieu of lengthy character descriptions, I've added clips of voice refs and descriptors in order to help you out if you're unfamiliar with the characters.
- Clear microphone/recording quality is preferrable, and will increase your chances of being cast, but don't be dissuaded if your recording setup isn't perfect. If you've got a bit of echo or other minor recording issues, I encourage you to still give it a go.
- You do not need to record more than one take per line, but multiple line deliveries will likely increase your chances of getting cast if it gives you a chance to show off your acting skills.
- I recommend that you be at least 17 to audition, but this is just a suggestion. As I said, you won't be voicing any NSFW content, but plenty of profanity depending on who you're auditioning for.
- If you are cast, communication will happen through Discord, so be sure you've got one of those if you don't already.
- I encourage you to audition for as many roles as you feel comfortable with, but keep in mind that I will not be double casting unless under extreme circumstances. Additionally, I won't be casting before the deadline.
- This project will not be paid, as I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be legal due to its status as a fangame. Copyright law and whatnot.
