Gingersnap! An Animated Series About Cats! Pilot Episode Casting Call!
Project Overview
Gingersnap is a Animated Slice of Life Comedy set in a Modern Fantasy setting! The story itself is about Felix! A stray and the next King of the Cats, who is currently being chased by Catssassins, and the Weird college student named Ace, who takes him in.
This casting call is for the Pilot Episode of Gingersnap, and as such, it'll only have a few characters, if we end up doing the whole Series, we'll make a second one for the rest of the cast!.( Also! this project is for fun and we're broke, so this is not a paid project.)
Story Synopsis!
Felix is on the run from assassins. Next in line to be King of the Cats, he's just looking for a place to hide from whatever mysterious figure is trying to take him out of the running.
Ace is a slightly out of sync college student with a questionable past and distinct lack of social understanding. One day she finds a harassed looking cat and decides to pluck him off the street.
Determined to make his new situation work, Felix desperately tries to hide his various royalty shenanigans from Ace, who seems suspiciously unfazed. She doesn't bat an eye when cats with knives and darts start showing up at her apartment, but she's a little surprised when having a cat starts to equal having friends. As more and more cats attempt to get some poison in Felix, their oblivious people stick around to bond over how adorable their felines are.
Felix takes the opportunity to dig for information on whoever has a hit on him, but no one seems to know anything about this person who's trying so hard to get him killed. No one except Ace. The more she acts oblivious, the harder it is to ignore the possibly she's got some connection with the whole ordeal. But with Felix so focused on hiding his identity from her, he seems doomed to miss the signs. And whatever Ace is hiding, she can't help wondering how she'll keep it from interfering with this strange chance at friends.

Personality
Felix is a chronically annoyed cat who happens to be next in line to rule his fellow felines. While on the run from those who want the Kingship for themselves, he gets picked up (literally) by Ace, an average seeming college student who has her own tangled past with Felix's enemies. Felix doesn't know this, and desperately tries to hide his identity from her. So focused on his own paranoia, he fails to notice how ridiculously unfazed Ace is by the talking cat who's being chased by assassins.
Role
Felix is one of the two leads of the show.
Voice
Felix generally has a very deadpan, slightly annoyed tone with occasional moments of panicky. He usually sounds pretty done with just about everything.
“Right..” Deadpan, suspicious. An obvious fact was just pointed out.
“Wait! Don’t let go of that thing!-” Panicked, frazzled. He has narrowly escaped being stabbed and now is about to be under threat again.
“Maybe. Why did you make me come with you?” Confused, curious. He's deflecting a question, and asking one of his own.
Personality
Ace is Friendly, Happy-go-lucky gal, though she is a bit unnerving at times. She carries herself with whimsy and a quick wit. She may seem oblivious most of the time, especially around other people and Felix, the act can drop quick as a hat, and when that happens she'll carry the conversation with a threating air. Around Felix, she keeps up the friendly and oblivious face as to not alert him to the fact she knows far more then she lets on. She's always moving when she talks, twirling around talking with her hands. As a partly functioning workaholic, she pours most of her time into her studies, and doesn't really know how to talk to people like a normal person.
Role
Ace is one of the two leads of the show.
Voice
Ace tends to speak pretty succinctly, but almost always openly, like there's not a thought beyond her words. She always talks to people like she's making a light-hearted joke, unless she's talking about something important, like schoolwork, then she's right to the point, with her smile of course.
“Well hello there!” Cheery, she is greeting someone new.
“You’re pretty dramatic for such a suspicious cat” Friendly, She is smiling and generally has a air of mischief about her.
“I don’t know, might leave you on a random doorstep.” Airy, An underlined threat carried by a light-hearted tone.
Personality
Tater is a small cat with a smug personality and permanent angry cat face. He enjoys throwing darts, getting on everyone's nerves, and being aggressive whether he's in a position to be or not.
Role
A secondary character who enters the show as an assassin charged with taking out one of the lead characters (Felix). He fails his task and ends up sticking around because of Carter befriending Ace, but never gives up on antagonizing Felix as much as possible.
Voice
A mischievous version of garbage can. Tater's three main tones are smugness, gremlin, and self righteous anger.
“You wouldn’t dare.” Hushed rage.
“LET GO OF ME HUMAN!” Inconsolable Rage. He has been picked up by a unknown person.
"Maybe you weren't a giant fluffy monster of a cat, I wouldn't have found you so easily." Smug and bitter, poking at Felix.
Personality
Carter is a Friendly, Playful and chill dude, though he's the most easily spooked by all of the cat shenanigans happening around Ace, and is concerned of her dismissiveness towards it. He has a Special interest in Fungi and Caves. Acts as the mom of the friend group. He adores his cat, Tater, and keeps photos of him everywhere.
Role
Carter is a secondary character who ends up being one of Ace's new friends, and is the Person of Tater.
Voice
Carter tends to sound a bit quiet and a bit along for the ride. He tends to be a chill guy, his voice is either on the side of Playful or Confused, but almost always level.
“Oh, hey, Ace? What are you doing here?” Confused, concerned. Ace has appeared on his doorstep.
“Where did you find him?” Relived, curious. His missing cat has been given back to him.
"Yeah.." Unsure, quiet. "You guys know anything about that?" Smirking, making a playful question to the cats.
