The Gias Project is a large story series set in an alternate human timeline involving a sci-fi war between humanity and cyborg invaders. Humanity has advanced at a more rapid pace than in our timeline, and are experiencing a world wide crisis in their modern era. Large EMP blasts are happening across the globe with no seeming explanation, followed by sightings of strange cyborg beings stalking surrounding areas. Among already present tensions between global super powers from a previous world war, international leaders decide to fund a global militia with experimental genetically modified super powers to combat the threat before a full invasion can begin. Volunteers are pulled in from all over the world with different backgrounds.
The series follows a group of characters from different backgrounds that have joined the militia for personal reasons. It details their relationships, their goals, motivations, and the harsh realities of war and super powers. The end goal for all of them is ensuring human survival along with their own.
This is a large expansive story series I have been putting together for years now and want to make into a reality by creating a webtoon based around the main series events. I want to warn ahead any participants ahead of time that the series will contain a level of swearing and blood as this is aimed at young adults. VAs will be required to have good quality mics and recordings, anything along the lines of a blue yeti.
The current plan is to get a pilot out for the first two episodes and make an official YouTube channel for the project where we can post voice overs of the chapters to show off the project while the rest goes to webtoon. The project is currently not funded and there is no current payment for any of the roles. However, I do want to aim to make a profit off the series and a payment plan will be set up once the project is running with a stable income.
[Note on VA Roles]: Some storyboards may take a while to make. Expect to see characters cast at different times based on when they are needed/introduced. Just a reminder to everyone that the casting for this project will be ending on the 1st of February. I want to note that not all roles will be given lines immediately but will be kept up to date as to when their lines will be ready.
Currently prioritized roles are Sakurazaki, Caden, and Rose along with male and female extras.

A large role I hope to fill is a co-writer or editor that can help look over the writing and planning of the project and make sure that it is running smoothly. I would like someone with experience writing similar sci-fi action and drama stories that would be interested with working with me on this project. Damon is a 21 year old run away from home. Having no where else to go, he joined the militia for the thrill of going into heroic battles with super powers, hoping to make something of his life. Unfortunately, harsh reality hits him hard and he is soon scarred by the traumas of war.
Damon has a strong temper yet a kind attitude towards his friends and loved ones. He can switch between being cold serious to warm, cheery, and compassionate. During battle, he gets absolutely wasted on his own adrenaline and will yell and shout battle cries at the top of his lungs.
Anyone going for Damon must have a strong voice and be capable of a range of emotions to fit his character. He has a very strong character and requires just as strong of an actor to portray his voice. [With a cheery disposition] Hey! I'm Damon! It's nice to meet a fellow militia member on the field! I hope we can live to see each other again!
(This is all one line) [Cold and serious tone] They did what they could... It wasn't enough... [Now with some anger and tears] Why? I could've saved them!
[On adrenaline and yelling with vigor] ALL RIGHT! WHO WANTS TO GO NEXT?! I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!
One of the younger members of the militia at age 19, Alexis comes from a poor family background and has learned street smarts to get around her neighborhood. She joined the militia to be able to help pay off her family's debts and move them out of poverty. She ends up bonding with many of the other members of the militia.
Alexis has a very rugged tomboyish demeanor while also being notably quiet. However, she isn't anti social and is approachable (for the most part). Her lines can go from very calm and considerate to being spontaneous and stuck up. As the story continues, she begins softening up and becomes a much more kind hearted character towards everyone.
Currently looking for a new lead!
[Calm and bored] *sigh* Just another day in the neighborhood. Those kids from before must've littered around the back alley again.
[With compassion and confidence] Hey! Don't give up now! We're not done yet! As long as we're alive, we'll make it through this together!

Rose is 20 years old and comes from a military family background. She is a very showy character that joins the militia from pressure from her father but stays because she has more freedom to express herself and her interests. Rose will always support her friends and allies and is the heart of the group.
Rose is very upbeat and soft with her voice, a character who is also showy and flirty. She is always trying to keep an optimistic atmosphere going and her lines involve words of encouragement to her friends. She is also a tease towards others around her and will poke fun at different characters while showing off her looks. Her character is much more complex and has depth to her story revolving her feelings about exploring the world, often holding the awe of a child at new experiences and objects.

[Teasing and flirty tone] Oh? So you noticed my charm? Like what you see?
[Headstrong and focused] “We don’t back down. Whatever is asked of us, we’ll make sure to finish the job. I refuse to see us fail.”
Wulf is a 25 year old man from a war torn background. Having suffered the loss of his family due to poverty and famine after his country lost a previous world war, he is struggling to find a better life for himself. While ideally a pacifist who distastes violence, Wulf was drafted into his country's army and later given an option to join the militia which he does in a bid for a better life. He is a deeply flawed person with heavy trauma and naïve ideals that he takes desperate measures to reach.
Wulf is usually very nervous and meek when speaking. He rarely tries to show himself above others and is not too sociable. He tends to be quiet when in combat but can easily snap into a more emotional state when faced with any sort of crisis. As he develops through the story, he becomes more vocal about his dislike of violence and tries to convince other people of his ideals for the world. He has a bit of a German accent.
Actors going for Wulf should be able to have a decent range from a lower pitched voice when calm and serious to a higher pitched voice when panicked or in an emotional state. The character himself is quite a bit unstable and takes a good amount of emotion to portray.
[Nervous and innocent tone] “Um.. pardon me? I don’t mean to butt in but is there a chance you could help me?”
[Apologetic and anxious] “I’m terribly sorry, I almost ran into you. I wasn’t looking where I was going. Guess I lost my head for a second there.” *nervous chuckling*
[Distraught yelling] “This isn’t the time! Stay out there any longer and you’re gonna get killed!”
Professor Tanner is the scientist in charge of the global militia project and the creator behind the supers powers used by its members. His age, goals, and motivations are unknown and he rarely shares anything about himself. The character is a complete loner with only a few other characters interacting with him on a regular basis. Tanner functions as a mastermind behind the militia side of the conflict and his actions can tend to be morally questionable. He will ultimately serve as one of the biggest cogs driving the conflict.
Tanner is very blunt, calm, and often times cold in his mannerisms. He will on occasion express concern for other characters and can emit some slight moments of compassion. He fulfills the role of an antagonistic character while still being able to show a softer side to himself.
Actor's going for Tanner should be able to have a calm and tactful performance for Tanner. Tone of voice matters more than the range but it shouldn't be too young or high pitched.
[Curious and nonchalant] “Curious, the results weren’t what I predicted but they should suffice. The test subjects will prove effective once fully trained.”
[Bored and slightly irritated] “Please, Director. You have no need for concern for our operations. I thought I’ve proven that by now.”
[Amused sarcasm] “Who ever said I was sane, Commander? I’m only following the ravings of the madmen controlling this big ball of life.”
Luz is Tanner's personal assistant that is often running around at his side. She is very young compared to the other cast members, around age 17. Tanner treats her like his student and adoptive daughter and often entrusts her with some of his work. Luz is also responsible for taking care of the young twins, Miyu and Para, spending time entertaining them or taking care of their day to day needs. Luz's character plays a minor supporting role in the story and is reactionary to the events around her.
Luz is clumsy and nervous. Her speech patterns tend to stutter a bit now and then and she has a really soft voice. Those auditioning for Luz should be able to do the typical socially awkward and anxious nerdy teenager.
[Calm and soft-spoken] "Greetings, Professor Tanner. I prepared the lab for you, just as you asked."
[Awkward and panicked] "Wait! S-stop you two! You can't be running around out here! T-there are people walking around doing important things!"
[Talking to self] "I'll do my best! Yeah! You got this, Luz!"
Miyu is one of two young girls that Tanner takes care of. They are assumed to be his daughters, though not known if by blood or by adoption. They serve as minor mascot characters for the militia side of the story and can be seen having fun interactions with some of the other lead and supporting cast. They tend to show up with Luz when appearing and are very energetic.
Miyu is the energetic red head of duo. She is constantly running around, asking questions, and getting excited over new experiences. She is often laughing, boasting, and teasing with Luz and has a vigorous personality with a bit of sass.
The voice range for Miyu is for that of an 8-11 year old. Anyone going for the role should be able to do a hyper childish voice.
[Excited and bright eyed] “You’re that new big man papa’s working with! Wow! You’re so old!”
[Pouting] “Hey! That’s no fair! We wanted to see the new researches too!”
[Giggling devilishly] “This big machine is gonna go boom! Then all the baddies will go running like scaredy cats!"
Para is one of two young girls that Tanner takes care of. They are assumed to be his daughters, though not known if by blood or by adoption. They serve as minor mascot characters for the militia side of the story and can be seen having fun interactions with some of the other lead and supporting cast. They tend to show up with Luz when appearing and are very energetic.
Para is the quieter and calmer of the two girls. She speaks with a soft tone while maintaining a similar level of wide-eyed curiosity to her sister. Despite being softer, Para can be more serious and bolder than Miyu.
Anyone going for Para should be able to get a range for a 8-11 year old but a soft and slightly deeper voice is also fine.
[Inconsiderately inquisitive] “Are you new around here? You look all banged up. What’s with that nasty line going down your face?”
[Annoyed and pouting] “Miyu, stop dragging me around! You said this was going to be an adventure for both of us!”
[Being blunt and bossy] “I see your problem. You worry too much. You should go take a nap too cool off. That’s what big sis always tells Miyu to do.”
Caden is the commanding officer in charge of the militia and serves as the main training instructor for most of the members. He is an older character around his late 40's to mid 50's. Caden shares close ties with Tanner as seemingly old friends and has a bond with fellow lead officers Mirit and Loui. He will usually appear leading the militia forces against the invading threat and maintains a strong robust presence on the battlefield.
Caden has the rugged critical personality of a military officer. While he is strict, he isn't harsh and tends to try to level with most of the militia members under him. His voice is a bit gruff from wear and tear along with years of past military service and has a bit of an exhausted tone.
Actors going for Caden should be able to do a deeper voice for the character and make sure to keep a less exaggerated tone for the character.
[Drill training] “I got another set of laps for you rookies! Up and at ‘em!”
[Needs his morning coffee] *sigh* “If this is another one of your crazy plans, I hope you don’t get me involved this time around.”
[Concerned teacher] “You’re pushing yourself too hard and becoming reckless. You need to get a grip before you lose yourself, son.”
Loui the lead officer of the tech and communications divisions in the militia. He is in his early 40's and shares a long past with Caden and Mirit from military service in different parts of the world. He acts as a companion to a lot of the other characters and is a good listener for those in need of it. However, he is not the best in giving good advice and is a pessimist at heart. Loui still functions as a mentor character for some of the younger characters.
Loui's personality is very passive and pessimistic. He sometimes makes snarky comments with a smug look and rarely ever raises his voice. He also smokes and has a bit of a smoker's cough from it.
Anyone going for Loui should be able to do a French accent for the character and be able to do a bit of a rasp to his voice.
[Annoyed and cold tone] “You took my spot. That’s the wall I go to lean on when I smoke and I’m not going anywhere else.”
[Saddened and lost in thought] “Sometimes there are things we can’t control, but I won’t bullshit you into accepting that. We humans are too stubborn to accept it.”
[Direct and commanding] “Broadcast that channel to everyone! We got a lead on the enemy and this will help us find them! I don’t want us to lose that signal!”
The leading officer of the recon division of the militia, Mirit is a tough and bold woman in her early 40's who doesn't shy away from confrontation. She is a mentor figure for Alexis during her first weeks in the militia and leads her division with pride. Mirit comes from the middle-eastern parts of the world and has lived through a lot of tough survival experiences over the years, crediting her to her extreme survival and combat skills. This has also shaped her personality into a much rowdier person who tries her best to have fun outside of battle to cope with her past.
Mirit is bold, loud, and confident when she speaks. She will always encourage others on in the toughest of situations and isn't afraid of charging into combat. She teases her friends and allies but maintains an almost heroic presence amongst her underlings.
Anyone going for Mirit should be able to give her a bit of a middle eastern accent and voice her character with full confidence when she speaks.

[Friendly Mocking] “What’s the matter? Can’t hold a drink in? Amateurs!”
[Calm and direct] “Stay calm. Slow your breathing. Look for any openings or weaknesses in their armor.”
[Drunk and loud] “Wuzzat? You think you’re better than me?! F’wall you kids and your fmancy powers are too damn spoiled!”
Chazz is one of Damon's friends and new squad mates within the militia and is about the same age as him. He is arrogant and rather dense with a very nonchalant personality while still being deadly and very serious when need be. Chazz joined the militia for one main reason and that's to kick in any invading scum that tries to take his home. He fulfills the role of a delinquent friend in the story but is much more competent in most given situations.
Chazz is very cocky and energetic. He speaks with an edge filled tone, emphasizing a lot of his words and sentences to have a larger presence in every scene he is in.
Any accent or take is welcome for this character as long as the performance can match his level of energy.
[Boasting voice] “Everybody stay calm. Yours truly has arrived on the scene!”
[Rude remark] “You think they know what talent is when they refused someone like me?”
[Battle taunts] “Woooohoo! Come get some you dirty mutants! I’m gonna tear you assholes apart!"
Storm is another member of Damon's squad and appears early on. He is a 24 year old black man who joined the militia to protect his family. Storm is tactful, bold, and a keen strategist. He is a character with humility that fills a leader's role when called for and supports his allies physically and emotionally. Storm is a shoulder to lean and rely on, he is a character with tons of heart.
When speaking to other characters, Storm is very direct and smart with his speech. He has a bold yet soft tone matched by little quips and supportive dialogue. On the field, he is a character of few words and speaks rarely during missions. When he does, his voice becomes cold.
I'd highly prefer an actor who can do a black young male voice for this character if possible.
(Will note that storm isn't his actual name but I haven't come up with what else to call him yet. Will update when I do)
[Stern and calm] “I think the best option is for you two to settle your differences in a less confrontational way.”
[Strategizing] “They’re coming from the underground tunnels. Collapsing any of the buildings isn’t an option so perhaps flooding them may work instead.”
[Dumbfounded] “What? What did I say? I thought this was going to be training. Does no one like training?”
Another member of Damon's squad, Ruth fills in as a scout during missions. She is an observant 22 year old student that joined the militia to be a test subject for the new super powers in helping restore her eyesight. She is not blind but is slowly losing her eyesight to natural causes and hopes to use the provided super powers to prevent complete loss of sight. Ruth maintains a close friendship with Storm and Rose and acts as the inquisitive member of the group. She questions the goals and motivations behind the militia while trying to soak up as much information as possible to figure out the ends and mysteries within the story.
Ruth is quick witted and sharp with her tongue. She speaks fast and goes straight to the point during conversations, being the one to lead them. She has a higher pitched voice next to some of the other female characters.
Any actresses wanting to go for her role should be able to speak fast and react quickly when voicing her character.
[Anxious yet excited] “Oh! You’re that adrenaline junkie from before! You’re not as menacing up close.”
[Apologetic but sarcastically firm] “You mustn’t have noticed me walking behind you. I’m sorry but I’m invisible to most people.”
[Cold] “They wanted me in because of my eyesight. I’m just a tool to them, but that doesn’t mean I’m not mooching off of them.”
Director Sakurazaki is the leader of the King's Agency, a secret service organization formed to deal with any threats to human civilization. The militia operates under their jurisdiction and oversight, Sakurazaki being the cold brutal overseer of the entire operation. She does what she can to keep Tanner and the militia on a tight leash and is rarely lenient. She appears on occasion to deliver new info to the main cast or issue hard orders for future missions.
Sakurazaki has a strong and stone cold voice. She emits a threatening presence whenever appearing, the definition of an uptight dictating overseer. She is in her late 40's to early 50's.
Actresses going for her role should be able to have a strong voice and brutal tone when voicing her lines.
[Hard strict tone] “My decision is final. There will be no further objections from anyone!”
[Giving a report + orders] “We’ve sighted more reaver activity in that area. The Agency needs you to investigate and eliminate any threats that you find.”
[Cold and dismissive] “I’ve no use for them if they can’t fight, Tanner. The Board wants to see results, not a science project.”
Agent Anthem is a side character that is a member of the King's Agency and a right hand man to Director Sakurazaki. He appears only a few times to give a bit of exposition or provide the main cast tools to use in their conflict. Anthem himself is a bit of a grizzled middle aged man in his early 40's but does not share the same cold nature that his director has. He usually seeks to aid the militia and its members as much as he can.
Anthem speaks very formally towards everyone, rarely stepping out of line or expressing himself differently. He has a rather calm but stern voice. There isn't much of any other requirements to voice this character.

[Strict and concerned] “Hey kid! Get out of here if you don’t want to get caught with bullets in your stomach!”
[Mid-combat] “This has gone on for long enough! Stay down, beasts!”
[As an informant] “I’d recommend staying away from that area. Can’t give all the details but the Agency has classified it as a red zone for reaver activity.]
Agent Kat is a fellow King's Agent that is close friends with Anthem. She shows up on occasion and shares a similar role as Anthem in being a side character that helps the militia. While Agent Anthem is much more lenient with how he handles his job, Kat is much more by the books in her field of work. She maintains a friendly façade that hides a more grim persona.
Kat is quite friendly and upfront when casually speaking with other people but will revert to a serious cold tone when on the job. She is very formal when delivering on her work
There is no particular requirement for this character. Any strong voice female voice should do.
[Direct and concerned] “Hey! You kids alright? Haven’t encountered one of them alphas yet, have you?”
[Friendly tone] “What a gang we got here! All capable and determined fighters!”
[Cold and formal] “Here’s the data, as you requested. A large amount of casualties were needed to gather it.”
Alexis' mother who appears only at the start of the story from Alexis' perspective. She is a woman in her late 30's/early 40's and appears young but stressed out most of the time. She treats Alexis with care and concern, a truly kind and considerate mother struggling to keep her family going in hard times. There are no major requirements for this character.
[Scolding tone] “Don’t go doing anything reckless! We still need you here!”
[Warm and compassionate tone] “You make us proud by being yourself. Just keep growing and living and you’ll be okay.”
[Exhausted and tired from work] “Oh… don’t worry about me. It’s just work is all…”
Alexis' father who appears only at the start of the story from Alexis' perspective. He is about the same middle age as his wife and acts as a tired yet caring parent. He has less lines than Alexis' mother and appears very briefly. When he does, he shows a similar amount of care for his family as does his wife. There are no major requirements to play this character.
.[Groaning and tired] “Yes dear, I’ll be right there…”
[Softly concerned] “Hey, you be careful out there, hun. Don’t go picking empty fights.”
[With comfort and love] “I think I’ve always appreciated you staying by my side, even with the hardships.”
This is an extra role for background or unnamed characters. The King's Agents themselves are very formal and uptight, serving with unwavering loyalty to Director Sakurazaki. They tend to appear briefly, usually in the background of scenes to make announcements or yell out lines during action sequences where they are involved.
This role may end with around 4-5 people involved and will be incredibly minor. Those who are chosen may end up getting to voice other background characters as well and I highly suggest doing 2-3 takes on these lines to show that you can express multiple different characters so none of the agents sound too similar. Preferably, I'd like 2 female and 2 male voices for this role.
[Formal and direct] "Reporting! Here's the data as you requested, Director!"
[Threatening and cold] "This is under the King's Agency's jurisdiction from here on. All militia members are to leave at once."
[In-combat] "Enemy is moving in! Spread out and flank them! Don't let them make it through!"
This is an extra role for background or unnamed characters. This role is for a multitude of background characters that include everyday civilians to other militia members. There is no required tone for these characters like with the King's agents so I honestly suggest just having fun with the voice lines. I honestly recommend doing as much improv as possible for this role.
This role may end with around 4-5 people involved and will be incredibly minor. Those who are chosen may end up getting to voice other background characters as well and I highly suggest doing 2-3 takes on these lines to show that you can express multiple different characters so none of the agents sound too similar. Preferably, I'd like 2 female and 2 male voices for this role.
