Fantasy Family Problems
This is a voiced comic dub.
Description:
A wholesome, feel-good and comedic short story about an Elf family and their struggles around the upcoming birth of their newest family member. Shenanigans abound.
The final product will be posted to social media, and credit to all who contributed will be given. This project is part of a larger project, and is just for fun. However if you are interested in pursuing voice acting or are wanting to participate in upcoming (possibly large-scale) projects, please don't hesitate to send me a message! :)
Some of the characters have more lines and/or screen time but all are necessary and central to the story!

This character has a warm, medium-to-deep (female) motherly tone of voice. She talks in a very calm, slow and kind manner. She is currently pregnant and expecting any day. She already has one older (teenage) child.

"Darling, won't you take a seat? You look tired."
"Now, now, come sit by the fire. It's dreadful out there. No, it's alright, you're alright now. Don't worry about your clothes, I'll have them washed and dried by tomorrow morning. But let's get you dry first."
(Scolding) "Well now you've done it! My kitchen tiles are all scuffed. No... I'm not angry, just disappointed. But you're going to clean up this mess."
This character is middle aged, slightly shrill in tone of voice and very energetic. A busybody. She is kind of annoying and well known for it, but still very well loved by her friends and community. She is annoying in an endearing kind of way and pokes her nose into other people's business, and says out of pocket things that she has no business commenting on.

"Well now, don't you think you ought to be in bed? After all, you look like death itself! Pale as a ghost and your eyes... OOH! Yes you really should be in bed. Tut-tutt, come on, off to bed you go."
"You'll never guess what I heard yesterday. Well, Sharon told me that Jenna told her that Sally and James have been going out together in secret. Who knows where they go? Not me. But I have a feeling her husband won't be very happy when he hears about it."
"Dear could you grab me my glass? The one on the shelf. No the other shelf! On your right. Your other right! Thank you."
This character is a bit quiet and very intelligent. She mostly watches and listens to others' conversations, speaking up only when she feels it necessary to say something. She is not shy however and is very confident and calm but can have a standoffish vibe to those who don't know her well. Her voice is medium-to deep (female) and she speaks softly but confidently. This character has three lines and multiple sound effects.

"What do you mean by that? I know what I heard, I'm not stupid. Please reiterate so I can verify you're not the jerk I'm beginning to think you are."
"Listen. It's all you have to do. Just listen. To the winds, to the birds, the world speaks in so many languages that most simply can't hear, much less understand."
Where are you going? I thought we were going to have dinner tonight."
This character is middle aged but young at heart. She has a friendly vibe and has a deep-to medium tone of voice. She can get annoyed easily but remains calm and lighthearted about it, often resorting to playful scolding.

"(irked, scolding) Well! And this is the thanks I get for all the hard work I put in for you. But, fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.. *sigh*, well... No use drudging up the past I suppose. ... Come on, let's get you cleaned up, inside."
"Good morning. Did you see the daffodils outside? Absolutely lovely! Well, have yourself a wonderful morning, Father."
"Yesterday I went to the store. And do you know who I saw there? Jason's mother. Yes! The very woman. And you know what? She had the nerve to look at me and say nothing. Like she didn't even know who I am. Can you believe that? The absolute gall of that woman I just will never understand."
This character is a teenage boy. He has a medium (male) voice, not super high not super deep. He is compassionate and kind but can be a mess and terribly scattered when stressed. When he gets stressed he still keeps his composure and is under the impression that he's keeping his cool and no one can tell he's stressed. But it's glaringly obvious by his obsessive speech pattern and scattered dialogue. He doesn't raise his voice or tone but rather can't seem to "take a chill pill" and will just babble on until the perceived issue is remedied and sometimes will need to be physically stopped and reminded to take a moment to just breathe. And then he will insist that he is fine, and he is calm. And the cycle will continue.

"What? I'm sorry, I didn't hear you. Were you calling for me?"
"Wait! You left your bag. I didn't want you to lose all your hard work... Everything is all still in here, right? Good. Okay, I'll be cheering for you! Good luck."
"Where is it... where is it?? I know I had it here somewhere, it's just not... *laughs stressfully* where I thought it would be. Dennis... Dennis where is it? Where did I put it?"
This character has a deep, rounded fatherly voice. Part of his character is that he is very manly, but he frequently says very un-manly things, sometimes very unexpectedly, i.e.: Gets out of the bathroom, steaming, angry faced and clenched fists, boss music is playing in the background: "Come here. I smell like cherry blossoms".
He can also say mundane sentences amusingly intensely and go head-to-head with his son, even if it's just about brushing his teeth or picking up his laundry and putting it in the basket. He is passionate and protective of his family when it comes to their happiness and safety.

(Calmly, softly) "How was school today? That's wonderful. Your mother and I are so proud of you."
(Angrily, passionately) "What do you MEAN you can't let me in? I'm his father for godsakes! If you don't move, I'll have to go right through you and i WILL, so don't you make me!"
This is a very brief character and can be portrayed by almost any female voice. She is professional and calm.

"Doctor? She hasn't slept in weeks. What can we do? I've already tried max dose benadryl. Her allergies are preventing us from going any further."
"Alright, great job. One more time. Up, down, up, down, up, down. Very good. Your range of motion is improving."
"Last night I had a terrible dream. It was so terrible I don't even remember it. Huh."
This character is a teenage girl. She is genuine and kind, and innocent. But she has a natural and calm voice, not strained or cutesy.

"Once upon a time in a magical kingdom there was a prince. He turned into a troll. The end. ... What do you mean that was a bad story?"
"Will you hold this for me? Thanks. I just have to readjust my shirt real quick. No... There's nothing 'alive' and 'moving' in my shirt... Why are you looking there anyway? Pshh."
This character is a little boy but could be aged up to teenager. If you are a female who can do an impression of a young boy that will work too. Ideally he's around 8-12 but if need be, he can be aged up. This character has two lines.

"Can you tell me how to get to the Inn from here? I think I'm lost."
"Ugh, I just washed my shoes yesterday. Now they're all muddy again. Well, at least now nothing's stopping me from going."
This character is a female nurse who is by nature very chill and easygoing. She can be voiced by anyone with a female-presenting voice provided they can match her chill vibe. This character has only one and a half lines but is memorable.
