Casting Call for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: IDW Season 5
Project Overview
Greetings, CCC. YamatoGuru here again with a brand new casting call for the upcoming fifth and FINAL season of the StarForce Media dub of IDW Publishing's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic series. Our channel now has over 7500 subscribers and more than 1 million combined views - we continue to reach an ever greater audience. Here’s your chance to be a part of this exciting venture - the last chance to have your name listed among the incredible multitude of voice talent that has made this ambitious project possible.
Most of the characters presented here are smaller roles so you don't have to worry about any long term commitments if you are cast, BUT I will expect your lines to be recorded and sent to me within 3-4 weeks of receiving your lines. With that in mind, if you are not able to keep up with specific recording deadlines at this time, this casting call is unfortunately not for you. I am working on a schedule so I will need your lines by the deadlines presented and will not be able to tolerate tardiness unless there are understandable circumstances that you can communicate in advance.
Mic quality will be very much a factor when I begin casting so please submit nice/noise-free auditions to increase your chances of being cast. If I don't get enough auditions initially, the deadline may be extended. I do not cast early.
I look forward to hearing from you all and am excited to have the chance to add more great talent to our already impressive cast (nearly 100 VAs have contributed already) and showcase your work to our fans. Good luck and happy recording!

Hello and thank you to everyone who has taken the time to audition for our project, it is most appreciated! We will be reviewing submissions and making final casting decisions in the coming days.
Arune is a husband, father and shop owner who operates in the same NYC neighborhood as April O'Neal's parents. His shop comes under attack by the Purple Dragons street gang and while he is initially afraid of the thugs, he comes to find the bravery necessary to stand up to his tormentors and aid Casey Jones in driving them away. He's understandably shaken by his situation but has an overall friendly demeanor. Slightly nervous but not cowardly. An Indian accent is preferred for this role but I am open to your interpretation.
"Thanks, I'm Arune."
cautious but friendly, grateful to receive help from a stranger
"Oh.. And be careful. There was another one with them - a really big scary looking guy."
still upbeat but with a tinge of concern
"I can't just stand by and watch, Priya... It wouldn't be right."
determined but with a slight hint of nervousness, he is explaining to his wife why he must fight
General Krang's remote headquarters of Burnow Island is manned by a vicious military organization consisting of multiple compounds that require constant protection. These particular guards are stationed at the Technodrome's control zone, the island's most heavily protected area. They should sound firm, aggressive and have no-nonsense personalities. Any accents considered.
"Who the hell is that?"
"But how'd he get in there?!"genuinely surprised to find an unfamiliar face in the cell he is guarding
"Hands up!"
commanding, attempting to intimidate
**Painful screams as if being electrocuted

"Looks like one of the scientists."
attempting to identify a man who just appeared in the cell he is guarding
"Get back!"
commanding and intimating

"INTRUDERS!"
Yelling loudly with urgency to alert other guards
**Painful yell as he is hit in the head with a blunt weapon
Before Shredder was the most evil villain in NYC he was once an adorable little kid with lofty dreams in feudal Japan. Young Saki should sound energetic and excited in this scene. Male or female voices may be appropriate to find the right sound for a character of this age, please give it a try!
"You're right, Yoshi! It's like a dream!"
running through a forest at night with his best friend, admiring the scenery with awe
"Then we'll be able to be together a lot! And we'll become great warriors!"
excitedly relaying his dreams for the future
"And maybe if we train hard enough... we can both become great masters someday!"
excitedly relaying his dreams for the future
The Foot Clan assassins are trained to be highly efficient killing machines. Although they are stealthy, their methods for elimination can be quite brutal and messy. This particular assassin is tasked with silencing Professor Miller, a former Foot Clan ally who is looking for a way to cut his ties with the dangerous organization. Looking for something quite sinister, almost creepy. These guys really strike terror into the enemies of the Foot Clan.
*No added voice filters, please.
"Hello, Professor Miller."
revealed to be behind his target, calm but dripping with sinister undertones
"And good-bye."
the target has been silenced, spoken low and remorseless
An older woman who finds herself in the midst of a crime scene while attempting to buy her groceries. Later she joins a mob of citizens who band together to fight off the Purple Dragon gang and drive them from the neighborhood. An appropriate accent is welcome but not necessary for consideration.
"But we left the groceries inside."
being rushed out of a store by her husband because it is being robbed
"You owe me some groceries, you bully!"
she's clearly still ticked about those groceries as she is clobbering a violent gang member over the head with a rolling pin, can be played comedically if desired but not too over the top
An older man who appears to care for his wife and her safety. An appropriate accent is welcome but not necessary for consideration.
"Faster!"
he is frightened and concerned as he encourages his wife to flee from a store that is being robbed by violent gang members
A man who appears to be a bit down on his luck attempting to get by with begging on the street. I'm not too particular on the accent, please feel free to use any that come natural to you. This is a comedy moment so the right delivery is key to get the humor across properly, I suggest trying multiple takes of each line with variation.
"Spare some change, fellas?"
he is sitting on a sidewalk with his few belongings and holds his donation cup up when he hears approaching footsteps from behind - it's a question he asks repeatedly throughout the day
"Uh.. Never mind."
a bit flatly but with a hint of fear as he realizes he is not speaking to people but instead a pair of bizarre and monstrous mutant creatures
Jimmy lives in the same neighborhood as April's parents and becomes concerned by the violence breaking out in the streets below his apartment. Jimmy appears to have no fear whatsoever about confronting the violent gang members to protect his neighbors so I'm looking for an aggressive, high energy delivery for him.
"Yo, T-boy, ain't that Arune from the corner store?"
"What WE should be doin' bro... Protectin' what's ours. C'mon!"Jimmy sees a street brawl between Casey Jones and the Purple Dragons street gang from his apartment window and is surprised to see Arune, a local business owner joining the fight. He grabs his friend and insists they also join the fray to rid the neighborhood of the gang members.
"We backin' up our boy Arune, that's what!"
Jimmy aggressively declares his intentions upon entering the street, intending to embolden the other citizens standing by to help
"That's right, punks - run away! This is our 'hood!"
Jimmy yells triumphantly after the fleeing gang members, he and his neighbors are elated at their victory
A member of the NYC police force assigned to assisting Detective Lewis in her capture of Purple Dragan gang leader, Hun. He's efficient at his job and has a straight forward personality. He is not familiar with mutants so anytime he sees one it is a startling experience.
"Hands off the kid, dirtball! And don't move a muscle!"
Officer Johnson arrives at the scene of a street fight and aims his weapon at Hun, leader of the gang responsible for the violence. Commanding and direct.
"Yo, Detective Lewis! I swear I just saw a giant white fox an-"
Shocked, he's not sure he should believe his eyes.
"Up there! I think... I think that's the same fox I told you about earlier, Detective Lewis."
While driving, Johnson notices unusual figures leaping from building top to building top. Still not sure he should believe his eyes.
Detective Kara Lewis is a member of the NYPD who has spent several years chipping away at the criminal elements of the city, even running across Michelangelo at one point. Here it has been a few years since that incident and her track record of excellent police work has only increased. Kara is a very straight-forward woman and is not afraid to leap into action should duty call.
"It's okay, ma'am, we know exactly who is responsible. Don't we Hun? Cuff this scumbag."
She has just arrived on the scene of a large street fight that is dying down to at last capture Hun, the leader of the Purple Dragons street gang which has been perpetrating crimes across the city. She's at first responding to a concerned citizen and then turn to Hun. She has great disdain for criminals so she should sound a bit condescending when she begins addressing him.
"I'm Detective Kara Lewis, folks. And on behalf of the city I wanna thank you. You just helped us bag one of New York's most wanted."
Addressing the crowd that helped to fight off the street gang, her gratitude should be apparent as she speaks here.
"Look, I spent two years deep undercover, Johnson. After everything I saw during that time, nothing surprises me anymore."
A bit flatly and matter-of-fact as she is not surprised when Johnson tries to describe the unusual creature he believes he's seen twice.
Lt. Sulfurch is an Utrom (a brain like alien from another Dimension) under the employ of the ruthless Utrom commander, General Krang. Utroms in our series have varying delivery styles (many great examples can be found in this episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rhRBGIZh0s) and while most take inspiration from Krang and various Utroms as presented in TMNT media over the years, I'm quite open to your interpretation. Because they're so odd, Utroms offer a chance to get creative so please feel free to experiment with your voice and submit several takes if you'd like. Just remember that no matter what sound you go with, keep the delivery grounded - this is not a comedic role.
"They are leaving. What are your order, sir?"
very straight forward, reporting events he is witnessing from afar
"As you wish... General Krang."
give me a slight dramatic pause between 'as you wish' and 'General Krang' as this will be a moment of revelation for the audience
Priya is the wife of shop owner Arune. She is immediately worried when her husband, who has no fighting experience, volunteers to join a fight in the streets to rid their neighborhood of a violent street gang. An Indian accent is preferred for this role but not required for consideration.
"But... What will you do, Arune?"
Surprised and concerned as her husband announces that he is going into the street to face a violent street gang that threatens their neighborhood
A frustrated gang member who has been beat up by shop owners and grandmas with rolling pins. Clearly frustrated.
"Forget this!"
After the citizens of the neighborhood begin attacking, this gang member thinks better of continuing the fight and runs away, delivered with frustration
Shredder's Elite Guards are a fearsome group of Foot Soldiers specially selected to act as Shredder's bodyguards. They are highly disciplined and deadly serious. Should sound intimidating in most situations.
"Halt. Approach the master no further."
firm, almost threatening
"Protect the master!"
loud and highly aggressive as he moves to put himself between Shredder and harm's way
"Master!"
Concerned, almost panicked as he realizes he may not make it in time to save Shredder from a grisly fate
A street thug with criminal intent that draws the attention of Angel who is patrolling the streets to test out a weapons packed battle suit. This guy has some wild expressions so please feel free to have fun with his voice, I am open to any accents for him.
"Stinkin' freak."
almost growl this line as he is getting up to attack his enemy who moments before knocked him to the ground with ease
**various sounds of being hit with blunt weapons and cries of pain
T-Boy and his friend Jimmy decide to enter the fray when the people of their neighborhood join together to fight off the Purple Dragon's street gang. He shows no fear in the face of danger.
"Yeah, that's him, Jimmy. What's he doin' in the middle of all that crazy, though?"
Slightly surprised, can't quite figure out what he's looking at in the streets below his apartment as a street fight erupts
"Yeah!"
Excited that he and the rest of the neighborhood fighters are pushing back the Purple Dragons Gang, high energy
A technician who announces the various phases of the Technodrome's operations over a loud speaker so everyone on Burnow Island is aware of what is happening and when to take cover. I imagine this guy with a deep, clear voice but I am open to interpretation. He should speak very clearly and deliberately as no confusion or error can be afforded during such a high level operation. May need to slow your natural speaking pace just a bit.
"Initiating activation sequence on three. Three.. Two.. One.. Activate."
very clear and plainly stated, all business
"Triggering sequence to commence in thirty."
very clear and plainly stated, all business
"Re-route complete. Triggering sequence initiated. Three.. Two.. One.. FIRE!"
very clear and plainly stated, all business - a punchier and louder delivery for "Fire!"
