Atelier Rorona (FanDub)

Project Overview

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to check this project out.

Atelier is a big project that I plan to do as the series has 17 different games to be dub. For that reason it is important you go into this project knowing the rules and guidelines to auditioning below. 

GUIDELINES: 

1.) This project will require you coming back to voice act. What do I mean by coming back? This series has a nack for bringing characters back from previous games a bit older then what there age was in the beginning. So you'll be required to come back for this project with a slightly or same voice that you had before. Don't audition if you know you won't be able to return to this project after our work here is done!!!! 

2.) When we get to the final series of Nelke being a Atelier all voice actors as I've said will have to come back as it is a All Star game. I will be paying voice actors at that time for all of there hard work.

3.) This project itself is to dub all Atelier games and with that being said it is very LONG TERM. So please understand you will have to give your time and dedication to this project along with coming back to do your roles again.

Now here are the rules to this project:

1.) Have a decent mic with little or no background noise.

2.) You must be able to display different emotions with your character.

3.) Meet all deadlines. There will be three strikes and then your out unless given a justified reason.

4.) Must have discord and be frequently active. Inactivity could also cost you your role. 

More details on the rules and no spoilers for the series will be given in the discord chat. 

NOTES: (READ PLEASE)

> Please note the characters will grow up a bit in future Atelier series so be prepared to give your voice a bit of a uptune based on what age your character will be by then.

P.S: I left some notes on how I want the characters to sound. You don't have to follow them of course. And yes I do think the dubs for the Atelier games were awful minus a few characters being okay.

  • Auditioning all out now.

    As you may have noticed some roles have now been closed as they have been cast to people who really blew me away with there auditions. If you haven't been cast yet no sweat it just means there's competition on who you auditioned for and I'm confused on who to pick for just one role or your just new to being on this page. With that being said if you weren't chosen for a role you auditioned for but it is now close to someone else then don't lose hope! You still have a chance to be cast as a character as there are characters who have no auditions at all once so ever here on this project page. Which brings me to my final announcement before the deadline on July the 12th. You can now audition for more then 3 characters now! You never know where your voice may or may not fit so I encourage everyone to audition now for as many characters as they want to see who they will fit with or even be cast to. I'm going to go through the auditions and offer each person who auditioned on this page a recommendation of where I see your voice fits or what character you can be.     A small kingdom built upon ancient ruins 700 years ago.

    (A pleasant happy voice) 

  • It was a peaceful kingdom isolated from an advanced world.

    One day, ancient relics, known as the machines, were discovered among the ruins.

    (Still pleasant but curious and happy to continue the narrating.)

  • At first no one knew what to do with the machines! Until a traveler named Rorolina Frixell came.

    (Surprised but still happy)

Rorolina Frixell is the main protagonist of the story. She's clumsy but is still very nice and kind to others. She has a variety of emotions and it is thanks to this that many people like to be around her. She is disappointed that if she doesn't complete the tasks assigned to her and Astrid through the kingdom the shop will close down. She does everything in her power to keep the shop from closing. 

*I can see a very cute voice being Rorona. Of course despite having a cute voice she can show different emotions very clearly as she does so in the game. However don't try to force yourself to have a cute voice or else you'll sound awful like the dub voice for Rorona in the game*

Sterkenburg is a knight and a royal messenger of the King. He comes off as strict and boring at times but deep down he is very kind and considerate. He's in charge of delivering Rorona's evaluations about the status of her workshop. 

*Ah of course Sterkenburg. Throughout most of the game he is calm but his voice still carries that of a responsible young man. He is very relaxed but when he emotes it tends to scare Rorona. Especially when he's mad. A voice that is mature can work for him* 

  • Now first of all I'm not a customer. I'm a royal messenger of Arland. My name is Sterkenburg. 

  • If I'm not mistaken earlier you said Astrid, the owner of this shop isn't here correct? Well when she comes back deliver this message to her. Under the orders of the Prime Minister and King this workshop is to be close down.

  • When she gets back please send her up to the castle.

    *So far his lines are calm and delivered cooly but here he is serious* Silence!!!

Astrid is the Alchemy Master of Rorona. She is very flirtatious and loves teasing others. Its been showed quite a bit that she likes woman romantically as well. However do to her being lazy she passes her workshop off to Rorona to avoid doing assignments for the King. Her alchemy magic is quite top rank as seen when she made a cure to save Rorona's parents of a sickness that could have ended there life. If she sits down and actually thinks and stops being lazy for once she is someone that you should definitely watch out for.

*Astrid is my favorite character from  Atelier Rorona. When she talks in Japanese I often imagine her having a very refined voice. Much more mature then whatever voice actor she had in the dub. She should come off as a very mature lady with more of a Mistress (Princess) like voice if that makes sense*

  • Your wrong Cordelia. If the shop closes down then Rorona will also have to leave the kingdom with me. She is mine as long as she owes that debt to me. Right Rorona?~

  • You want to go to your parents house? Why? Have you grown tired of sharing a bed with me or perhaps this is about what I did with you last night?

    *Teasing Rorona and it comes off as a bit of flirting*

Esty is the receptionist at the Palace front desk. She hears and sees all of the townsfolks problems or complaints and then pays Alchemist to deal with said problems. She's also a lady knight. She knows Sterkenburg quite well and just calls him Sterk while lecturing him on how he is always unapproachable with people.

*Esty to me was always pretty normal in my book. So a normal voice for her is fine. However she still needs to have authority in her voice just from her talking normal*

Cordelia is Rorona's childhood friend who is apart of a wealthy family. She has more of a tsundere personality and is a bit short. She isn't afraid to speak her mind or to even bite her tongue. If you do something stupid while she is around she will call you out for it. She scolds many people including Rorona.

*Cordelia is a tsundere through and through. However she EMOTES HEAVILY! Most of the time she is yelling at people or lecturing them for being morons. She does not bite her tongue and will talk to you in any type of way. Since Cordelia is from a wealthy family I always imagined her having a very princess like voice. Prim and proper through and through unlike the dub. Her voice should reflect that she was born and raise from a noble household. Not to the point that she's snobbish though*

  • I honestly don't care if this shop closes down. If it does it'll teach that perverted Master in there a lesson that she just can't sit down on her butt and think her shop is going to be kept open like this.

    *Lecturing Rorona on why she doesn't care if the shop does close down. Has a dislike against Astrid*

  • Huh?! Are you kidding me?! How are you going to fight monsters with a frying pan?! Gahh!! 

    *Annoyed and yelling at Iksel for fighting with a pan*

Iksel is a boy who works at a Cafe. He's suppose to be in training but he does everything around the shop that you can easily see him as being the owner of the place. He often cooks food for Rorona and the others and goes outside of town with them to fight monsters with his trusty partner the frying pan. 

*Iksels dub voice was actually fine in the game. So aim for that. He can have a normal voice really but the key to being Iksel is always being overly energetic, happy and bringing emotions to your lines a lot. I even encourage some improvising since Iksel does that a lot in the game*

Aranya is one of Lionela's cat puppets. She's polite and strong, like a big sister. She's nice but loves to give lectures, which sometimes makes Lionela cry.

Tantris is a Wandering Bard who goes from town to town to meet different people. He is a natural play boy when it comes to woman and he has a very mischievous and sneaky side to him as well. He is the son of Arlands Prime Minister Meredith and was summoned back to Arland to meet his father. There he was tasked with closing the workshop down which he accepted. He has some history with Astrid.

*Unlike the dub voice and Japanese voice I can imagine Tantris with a deep voice. Not to deep but enough for him to be mistaken as a teen. He should naturally sound flirty yet give a vibe that he is up to something*

 Hom is the Female Homuculus that Astrid has created. She is a newborn which is why she is currently learning a lot about the world. She can do Alchemy as well like Rorona and assists her with her shop. She calls Rorona master and Astrid Grand Master. She is technically Rorona's little sister. 

*For Hom she doesn't talk normally. She should have a cute voice but still lack emotions in her lines as she hasn't learned about her own personalities yet. She should sorta sound like a robot but at the same time not to robot like. The dub didn't bother in giving her a voice so yeahh*

Tiffani is the owner of the Sundries Shop. She runs her shop by herself but unbeknownst to her she actually attracts a lot of young men towards her. Rorona has made compliments saying she attracts a lot of guys to her shop. But Tiffani just brushes it off as customers coming to her store to buy items instead of seeing her. Her husband has passed away so she goes to visit his grave every now and again.

*When I see Tiffani I often think of her as the loving and caring mom type. She should have a prim and proper voice that demonstrates she is a young woman who is independent*

Meredith is the Prime Minister of Arland. He wants to see Astrids and Rorona's store closed and demolished. Once there store is closed he plans to build factories in the location that the store was at to get more money for Arland. He is very intelligent but do to him being simple minded he barely uses his intelligence for the greater good of it all. Shockingly he has a son named Tris. He orders Tris to go and close down Rorona's shop. 

*Meredith can have a normal middle age voice. Only thing to keep in mind about him is he likes to emote being angry a lot* 

  • Hey! You! Knight near the window! I know you hear me calling you! 

    *annoyed* 

  • What?! Your telling me that girl and her masters shop has not been close down yet?! 

    *surprised*

  • Hmph. Lets see how long she lasts. She will fail a assignment eventually and when that happens her shop will close down! *laughs*

*Ryan has a light hearted voice actor in Japanese so for him I would like to see a voice that has a softer tone with him. Of course despite the softer tone he still has masculinity about him. He might be a sleaze ball however*

Laura is Rorona's mom. She alongside her husband Ryan almost died together by a sickness that could not be treated. Pamela is a ghost who has possessed a teddy bear. She died at a young age but doesn't remember any of it. She has a laid back altitude and stays at Astrid and Rorona's shop until she gets back on her feet.

*Pamela has a cute lazyish voice to her in the Japanese version. Unlike the English dub which did not carry over the way she talks I can see Pamela having a cute sheepish voice if that makes sense. If not sheepish then aim for something cute and proper*

    *Waking up from her sleep. She sounds lazyish cute as she questions Rorona on where they are*

    *Any melody can work here as long as I hear you hum to it. You shouldn't sing*

A young merchant boy. He acts olfer than Rorona. He has a very quick altitude and a quick mouth which is why he doesn't get along with Astrid at all. 

*Okay Cole. A bad example of his voice is the dub. The guy didn't even try to change his voice to match a kid. Cole should have a lot of energy in his lines while being happy, skeptical or yelling most of the time. He should have a laid back voice unless provoked*
