Rainer, more commonly referred to as Rain, is a thresher shark who “lost his parents” out in the open oceans around Alcrest. His main goal is to appear dim-whitted and naive. As such, he’s often seen playing with toys or simply being a jokester. His true origin, however, is from one of the first research facilities in Alcrest. Deemed “Subject 001”, Rain was experimented on and turned into a powerful fighter. After killing the researchers who made him and breaking out, he made sure that no one would find out about his troubled past. It seems as though his act also functions as a personal comfort to reclaim a childhood that was lost.
Voice notes: High pitched, squeaky, jovial. Has a lisp. Mannerisms and tone similar to a show for pre-schoolers. When in serious situations, his voice lowers significantly. Open to two voice actors if this drastic difference cannot be met. Aged late 20s
Audition Lines:
“Hi Half!” (He sounds as obnoxious as possible here.)
“I went and I ate 10 rocks today. Yup! A whole pack of 10!” (He laughs for a while here before cutting himself off with a sigh) “They tasted like shit.” (Emphasis on the word “shit”.)
“Sooo, this one’s Fred… and that one’s Bellma! Oh! And this is her twin sister, Bellamy!” (Laughing.) “They’re all dating.”
“... No, I don’t really think so. I’m more of a train kind of guy."
“. . . I will remember that.” (Here, he does his deeper, more intimidating voice. The lisp completely disappears, though he maintains a sense of raspyness in the tone.)
