Project Overview

Alien: Solara tells the story of the crew of the USCSS Solara as they're
drawn into a war between rival companies, both of which intend to
capture and harness the abilities of the Xenomorph creatures. But now
they may be the only hope of stopping new, and even worse forms of the
creatures.

Part one Featured the voice talents of A.J. Carter as
John, midway traffic controller, man in diner and Weyland-Yutani
executive. Stephanie Carlson as Captain Anderson. Mya Schuwerk as
mother. And Graham Rowat as Mr. Deckard.

  • Auditions upped and I promise I'm not ignoring you.

    Auditions have been pushed up a bit to give some people more time. Also, rest assured I have heard your audition even if I haven't responded. The sad fact is I have a heart condition and I've been having bad chest pains recently. No, I wasn't face hugged. When the pain gets bad I just don't bother with projects. But I have been pushing forward with editing of part one. I will be making casting decisions for part 2 shortly.

    When I close a role, if I say you got it, rest assured you got it. No need to be concerned I secretly gave it away to someone else.

    The role of John has been cast, I know some have sent in auditions, and I will respond to them. Don't feel left out, there are plenty more roles coming up.

John is the SYNTH custodian of the USCSS Solara, a privately owned commercial ship. It is his duty to keep the ship and crew in stasis safe until they arrive at their destination. John is a very old synth, a spinoff of the David line, only a different appearance and slightly more advanced. He was a prototype that eclipsed David, but he was ultimately deemed far too "Human", much like his David series brothers. Though he may be old, his abilities are more advanced than even the somewhat new Bishop series. He sounds young, but has an old "soul".

  • Weekly report of USCSS Solara, private commercial vessel under contract to Weyland-Yutani corporation. October 1st, 2180. Deployment of alpha communication relay beacons is complete. Company employees in stasis for delivery to the gold mines on Plutus are in perfect health. No further information of relevance. John, ships custodian, signing off.

  • It is not necessary to inform me of minutia, I am aware of our scheduled deployments.

She's young, but older since she's spent so much time in Cryo. Technically she's 25, but thanks to being in stasis for so much of her life, she's only 18. But her appearance as a teenager doesn't make her less capable of being a Captain of a ship. Her father purchased an old M class star freighter before she was even born and was intent upon taking his family and crew "to the money" wherever it could be found. After he died, he left all of his savings and ship to his daughter who took on the task of taking her crew to the money. She's always done well for them, even though her roughneck crew don't much care for the contracts she takes from Weyland-Yutani, but the pay is always good and the jobs relatively easy. John was her caretaker her entire life, so she has a deep fondness for him and never treats him like a synth. She considers him family, and her second in command only because she owns the ship. The two are inseparable, and little does the Captain know, but John has killed to protect her before and he would do it again.

  • I couldn't care less what Wey-Yu wants. We're under contract to do a specific job, not clean up their messes for pennies on the dollar.

  • Plutus, what a shit hole. If it weren't for the gold, they'd use it to dump garbage on. Acheron was a better place to live. You know, before the atmosphere processors exploded and nuked the whole colony.

  • We have shit weapons, no military training and some asshole forgot to stock the galley with coffee. I don't think we're up for this.

Mr. Deckard is a company representative. Really, he's a synth but even John can't tell. His job is to take the crew of Solara to Plutus to find out why contact was lost. When he discovers the truth, special order 937 is activated within his programming. But he must either join the crew in their survival against the aliens, and a corporate rival to Weyland-Yutani, or carry out his programming to secure a specimen at all costs.

  • I represent the companies interests in Plutus, and it is my job to ensure the miners aren't setting a little something aside for themselves. It may sound greedy, but the company has sunk nearly a trillion dollars into the mine and it has only recently turned a profit.

  • As an old synth, you should know Humans are flawed creatures and not particularly worthy of the praise you seem to heap on them for creating you. They destroy as much, if not more than they create. They are not gods, they are more like locusts.

Mother is the Solara's AI. She and John have a somewhat contentious relationship even though they're both artificial. John often snaps at mother, especially when she's being obnoxious and bothering him with minutia. I was going to use a text to speech program, and if no one wants the part I still will. I just wanted to give a Human a chance.

  • The Captain ordered me to keep you informed of all ships operations, however a .1% decrease in our 99.8% of light speed velocity did not seem important enough to tell you. Deployment of the communication beacons is of higher priority.

  • John, I am receiving a priority one transmission relayed through the communication beacon network from Weyland-Yutani. Captain, or custodians eyes only.

  • Will you bring me back a souvenir, John?

Chief engineer of the Solara, known only as "chief", is an odd person. The chief's personal hygiene is always a topic of discussion. He can fix anything, except his own personal "aroma". The Captain keeps him on board because he can fix anything, so she tries not to complain about his habits too much. The chief feels that since he spends so much time in cryo, there's not much point in showering often. It's believed he hasn't had an actual shower in almost a year due to the time he's spent in cryo. He has a vile habit of "scratching his butt crack" with his favorite screw driver, especially when he's sweating a lot.

  • All I need is a bottle of booze, a porn mag, my screwdriver to scratch my ass crack and my balls and a place to lay down. I'm not picky, I'm not greedy, I'm just kind of a scummy guy. I'm happy with my life, and that's all that matters.

  • Taking showers is a waste of ships resources, you're just gonna have to live with my swamp crotch smell or back the fuck off.

  • We can land the ship if you want, but if we lose the port drive engine like we did the last time we landed on Thedus, don't expect me to come up with a last second miracle to save our asses. Even though I probably will.

The chiefs assistant, much like Brett, is laid back kind of "yeah, It'll get done" kind of person. He doesn't feel obligated to bust his ass to fix anything, but when he does it always stays fixed until something breaks it. He and the chief usually spend their time out of cryo together getting drunk and watching porn, and exhausting the ships food stores. Though he may be a lazy guy, he always does come through even when it seems like he won't.

  • You know my motto, never do today what you can put off till tomorrow. And my second motto is there's always someone better for the job.

  • I went into cryo half drunk, and I'm getting out of it half drunk. I've been drunk for three months and I can't remember anything.

  • I guess I could rig up some weapons, but don't expect them to work right.

Carla Ramirez, ships medic. She's a bit older than the Captain, and the two of them have a closer relationship than the Captain does with anyone else except for John. She practically grew up on Solara with the Captain, her parents worked on the ship for many years. She has a tendency to lose her temper easily and despises the Chief's horrific hygiene.

  • Possible mining accident? Radiation shield failed. Unexpected fire storm. On that planet there could be any explanation for problems.

  • That's it, I'm begging the Captain to dock your pay if you don't properly clean yourself. I've smelled corpses dead for weeks locked up in confined spaces that smell better than you.
