ZEPHYR VODORI | A short animatic film
Project Overview
After a man gets killed at an awards show, his hard-working daughter investigates and tracks down the culprit’s location years later. Her co-worker ventures with her to a safe-house where they decide to investigate, unaware of the dangers that await them.

Hello! My name is Mari (also widely known as Mars) and I'm an animation college student, eager to create stories at any given chance. I've been lucky enough to create a 3 minute short film for my final project! And what's better than enhancing my project through beautiful voice acting?
Zephyr Vodori is a very short film, if you're a VA that wants something small to work on I definitely recommend giving this tiny project an interest! The final product will be in animatic/storyboard format (so not fully animated) so your voice will bring the extra frosting to this cake :]

important info
Due to the small amount of lines and noises need to be made, recording should take under if not a little over an hour. You will be paid half the price pre-recording, and the rest when you've sent everything. All directions will be written on the script, but IF necessary, we MAY do a live-direct recording session via Discord voice call. I'm willing to pay extra if things need to be live-directed, but that's something we can discuss together if that situation ever comes. ALL PAYMENTS WILL BE DONE VIA PAYPAL.
You must be 18+ to audition.
Please put either your discord or email info when auditioning, as that will be our main form of communication! Discord is highly preferred but email works too!
PLEASE send in your audio files as .mp3 format. It is also preferred if you have 2-3 takes per line.
The script is all on Google Docs with provided voice directions, but if you prefer a PDF file please let me know! I'll provide two separate PDF files with specific voice directions and without. Speaking of script, I've been going back and forth with my professor as far as revising/editing it goes. I intend on not casting/closing roles until the deadline comes since the script will be finalized by then, so PLEASE make sure you're available early May.
Little to no background noise + clear mic is a must.
This is a one-time and quick project. Unless the final product blows up (I will post this on YouTube) and I decide I want to do something with it, but the odds of that are very low. With that being said, if I really enjoyed working with you, I may reach out to you in the later future for other projects :]
Line counts are subject to change but it should be NO MORE than 9 lines.
[EDIT/UPDATE] Apparently emails can be redacted on the website? (i had no idea, sorry about that) if you're casted and prefer communicating via email, I'll just DM you here and hopefully we can exchange emails in DMs.
[EDIT/UPDATE 2] Hey all! I've moved the deadline to a week back just so those that are casted can have extra time getting their lines done! Sorry for the short notice! I've been listening to some auditions here and there and you guys really blow me away with your talent! Thank you for much for the support!
[EDIT/UPDATE 3] Final update, I promise! There is a little under a week left until the due date. I'm now going to listen to all auditions and take some considerations in, so if you're interested I recommend auditioning sooner than later! character desc: The main protagonist. Sam is an overworked detective, willing to do whatever it takes to serve justice; even if it means going above and beyond. Despite her ambitions and strong emotions, Sam tends to hide it majority of the time. Surface level, Sam has a cold and arguably intimidating vibe. 27, she/her.
voice desc: Sam sounds tired and soft-spoken. However, when she has intense emotions she’s sharp + expressive. In the script she is rather “angry”, so it is very important to know Sam’s stoic exterior yet emotional interior (contrast is key!). Medium-low pitch.
IMPORTANT: This character gets into a small fight at the end of the script. You must be okay with making grunting/groaning/etc noises.

character desc: The antagonist. Thanks to Rafa's charm and flirty personality, it's hard to tell he's actually a hitman. Most of his missions involve in him going undercover, so his appeal is definitely a plus. With that being said, he's still a bit messy attacking his targets, but he gets the job done at the end of the day. 25, he/him.
voice desc: Charm is a big factor. Rafa sounds and looks approachable surface-level, so it's important he doesn't sound too menacing. Preferably medium-pitched but a low-pitched voice works too. Arabic accent is OPTIONAL but appreciated! (P.S he does say one Arabic word, which is حبيبتي (habibti), so please be able to pronounce that correctly ^^')

voice desc: Amelia has a British/English accent (it's not city specific, so go crazy! As long as it's a British accent :] ). Medium-high pitched.
