Project Overview

Yandere Heaven is a project I began for Yandere Jam 2022. Back then, I released volume 01 (which is basically the first CD in the series.) Now I'm trying to finish volume 02 for this year's Yandere Jam :3

It’s a fandub VNification of a Japanese audio drama CD series of the same name!

Each CD features a self-contained story of 2 yandere characters fighting over the listener. In my fandub project, I have attempted to visualise the whacky and often OTT world of the series while making it more inclusive by giving players the option to not only choose their preferred pronouns, but also adding feminine versions of the characters from the CDs that were originally only male (as the CDs are designed for straight female listeners).

I’m attempting to be as faithful to the original content as possible and have used a friend’s rough Japanese-to-English text translation as the basis for my localisation. I have made small tweaks and additions here and there, but for the most part, I hope to retain the same story and sentiment throughout each volume I create.


Unfortunately, because I'm working on volume 02 as part of Yandere Jam 2024, it means there is a deadline involved for line submission. More info on that + line count is available in the characters section :3

    I just want to say one gigantic thank you to everyone who took the time to submit an audition for this project! Everything was so incredible and it was a lot of fun listening to everyone’s different takes on the characters :3 


    My mind was blown wide open by the number of submissions, and you guys definitely didn’t make it easy for me when it came to trying to decide who to cast, haha. I was sat there for hours at my PC listening to different auditions, and it was ridiculously difficult even attempting to come up with a top 5 for each role >.<


    Everyone here is so talented and I feel like it’s an honour to have had the opportunity to hear such awesome auditions. In the end, I tried my best to cast each character based on a mixture of things. The main one was getting the emotions nailed in the delivery of the sample lines, but I was also attempting to match people’s voices to the voices used in the original Japanese CDs so that the characters ultimately give off similar vibes (only possible on the male side of things since the CDs only featured male characters!) Aside from that, mic/recording quality also factored into it, and there were some fantastic submissions that hit those first 2 points but then were unfortunately let down by the audio quality being a little off.


    I’m sorry that I can’t thank everyone individually or give specific feedback because I’m sadly short on time when it comes to getting the project finished for the jam deadline, but I do really appreciate each and every person who took the time to put themselves forward for this. It was super close, and I hope I have the opportunity to work with you on something else in the future if I didn’t cast you this time! :3

Sakae is the super-rich son of a big medical company boss. He’s masquerading as a patient at the hospital the scenario is set in on the orders of his father, who believes it makes the company look better if one of their own is being treated with a new drug they’ve recently released.

He's also a terrible flirt >.<
