Project Overview

  If you're an artist and would like to work on this project, you can DM the casting director, Allie (allie2307), or the director (binxdev) on disc! We can't say for sure that you'd be added to the team, but I'd love to try to find a compromise! (Pixel Art Counts!)


   Rosal has known Kotori for years it seems. Well, Kotori is the only one who would listen to her, would acknowledge her. They were best friends and nothing would change that! ..Right..?


  Volitive is a RPG style psychological horror video game that will be made in python. The story follows a 19-year-old named Rosal who gets hired at a local supermarket as a store clerk. With this new job, she must learn to adapt to the unfamiliar surroundings, people, expectations, and interactions.


This is a psychological horror and includes disturbing imagery and themes. Images and audio may be distorted, serious mental illnesses/conditions are depicted. (Anxiety, Psychosis, Depression, Schizophrenia) Violence will also be shown. If you have any questions about this aspect, feel free to message the director or the casting director.

Things to keep in mind:

  • We will communicate through discord. (If you are comfortable with putting your discord tag with your audition, please do!)
  • You must be 13 or older to audition. (I prefer if you are older than that. (Over 16) I do know some of you will lie about your age, and I can't stop that.)
  • Please audition for as many characters as you'd like! Although I will try to avoid multicasting. 
  • Characters will be cast on the deadline.
  • Audio quality is insanely important. 
  •  You will have exactly 2 weeks to do each chapter. (You'll get 2 weeks to complete chapter 1, then 2 more weeks for chapter 2, and so on.)
  • Around a 1 year commitment. (May be a little less or more)

    Hi! Sorry this is out so late! We've been really busy lately (By 'we', I mean the casting director and the director. :) )
    If you're part of the cast list, You'll get a friend request on discord by an account called 'binxdev', then he'll ask you if you accept your role. If you do, he'll tell you more information, then he'll invite you to our server.

  • Officially Closed!

    These auditions are now closed! Any auditions that are submitted after this announcement will not be counted. Results will come out soon, either today or tomorrow. (I do know I said they would come out on the deadline, but we didn't expect to have so many good auditions! :) ) I will make another announcement once the cast list is out.

  • Extending the deadline

    Hey! Thank you so much for all the auditions, we're honored that so many people are interested in this project!

    But I do have to announce that we'll be extending the deadline for 2 more weeks. We just need a little more time to sort out everything! :)

Rosal is the main protagonist of this game. She gets a job at her town's supermarket and is more than happy to start. 


Rosal is 19 and lives with her best friend, Kotori. She had cut off all connections with her parents due to an argument. In the start of Volitive, Rosal acts very cheerful; this dies down a lot the further you get into the story. She tends to be nervous around new people and may have unreliable visions of them.


Voice Description

Rosal tends to speak quickly when she's in a good mood, she lacks basic social skills and may come off as awkward. She has a medium-to-high pitch. A general American accent should work for her.

Kotori is Rosal's friend. They do almost everything together—go to work, go to the store, even live with each other! They stay together, always.

 

Kotori is omniscient, caring, and protective towards Rosal. She never speaks to anyone else. She is very mysterious and doesn't seem to have any friends or family besides Rosal. Kotori becomes more violent and creepy depending on interactions in the game.


Voice Description

Kotori speaks softly, with hardly any emotion, in an cold and disembodied manner. She has a medium pitch. Either a general American accent or a general British accent should work for her.


(If you're trying both accents, I prefer if you do it ABCABC form, but that is not required!)

Gabriel is in his 30s. He always seems tired and pissed off, he tends to get annoyed at any and every mistake.

Oscar is 21; he lives with his sister, Carmen Valentino. He acts very calm, and he listens to whatever Rosal says. Oscar seems collected in public, although towards the end of the game he starts to show his true personality: a rich snob.

Carmen is 24; she lives with her brother, Oscar. She's very strategic, logical, and serious as well. She can come off as rude and demanding, but her intentions are usually good.

Carmen speaks very precisely and in a stern manner. She has a low pitch. Either a general American or a slight Mexican accent should work for her.

Bel is 17 years old. They are nonbinary, but they keep that to themself. Bel has five younger siblings that they adore. They care a lot about children and, well, people in general. They are extremely laid-back.

Bel speaks in a relaxed way, and they put a lot of expression into their speech. They have a medium pitch. Bel becomes really quiet when they feel down. They have a general American accent.
