Hi there everyone !! I’m looking for voice actors for my thesis film at SVA!! Name pending, for now I'm calling it Earthsong!
I have put my rough animatic in here for everyone to get a sense of the story and voices, currently have me and my girlfriend's bad voice acting in that place so APOLOGIES, but feel free to take a look! It is still rough at the moment so keep in mind things will be changing a bit. (Especially the music because it's copyrighted ...shh) (I'm eventually going to be looking for a composer too so if you're interested let me know haha.)
Summary:
Gaia, a young princess, sole resident, and life force of a small green planet, was living a peaceful existence alongside a myriad of small friendly creatures when one day, a ship crashes on her planet. From the ship emerges Adam, a boy who seems desperate and stranded. The two become closer as Gaia helps him back onto his feet, and all seems well, except for the fact that the planet and Gaia have been growing mysteriously grayer since Adam's arrival.
The film is an homage to the harm that humans have caused the earth, and the parasitic relationship between humankind and nature :o Also it ended up being female rage too HAHAH.
Misc Info:
• The film's deadline is March 31, so there is definitely a possibility of change happening between now and then, so chosen actors would need to stay flexible and hopefully open to work between now and then just in case!
• The film will likely be posted to Vimeo, Youtube, and my school's film festival!
• The voice actors chosen for these roles will receive credits for their work at the end of the film and anywhere else credit is due!
Important Info:
• The voice actors chosen for this role will receive $25 USD through Paypal (or payment method that is easiest for you) (But if I get a grant from my school pay will be higher!!! Will keep you updated haha)
• Please submit recordings with no background noise and high quality vocal audio (no air conditioners in the background, no fans, etc). I’d prefer if you auditioned with the setup you would be recording with so I know what to expect!
• Please do a couple of takes per line!
• If chosen, I'd prefer to communicate through Discord if possible!
Deadlines:
The deadline for auditions is Wednesday, September 25th at 6:00PM ET! IT WILL BE A PRETTY QUICK TURNAROUND!! If chosen, I will contact you on the 26th(still deciding)! and I would need recordings by Oct 1st at the latest!! There really are not that many lines so it really should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete your part! I need audio for my critique on the 2nd, so apologies for the rushed nature of this call!! Please only apply if you feel you can work on that timeline.

Lead character! Gaia is a young teenaged girl who is the embodiment of Mother Nature. She is generally timid and happy but gets very angry in the story so emotional range is important for this role! Accents are welcome, I don't have a specific box for what she sounds like but generally fluttershy-esque and soft spoken- but not high pitch anime/falsetto pls! Please do two takes of each line if possible!! Make sure to check out the animatic for more context for the lines if you are confused!

(Angrily, but monotone) You selfish boy. None of it was real, was it? You were ready to destroy me, and my home, all for your own entertainment.
(Crying, lightheartedly) *Sniff* I'll never let anyone take advantage of us again.
Adam is a young teenaged boy whose spaceship crashes onto Gaia's planet. He's very princely and polite generally, and that kind of demeanor is expected for most of his lines. But. Spoiler!! He's actually an evil little brat basically, and his last couple lines need that energy, so make sure to be able to bring that! Any accents are totally fine! Make sure to check out the animatic for more context on these lines if you want that!
(Politely) Princess! I truly apologize for the intrusion. You see, my ship ran out of fuel and crashed on your lovely planet.
(Politely) I'm going to go wash up, if you may excuse me.
(Snarkily, Brattily) The death of a single insignificant planet could make millions of my people happy. (beat.) I don't think *I'm* the selfish one here.
