Project Overview

"Val Serano. Thief. Pirate. Liar. And your new best friend. Whether you both survive the experience remains to be seen."


This project is an original Skyrim custom follower mod. Spanning multiple quests and new locations, the player will experience Val's personal storyline, friendship arc, quest-aware commentary and dialogue, and an optional romance.


Val is an unreliable narrator who will lie by omission to the player shortly after their first meeting. Over the course of his personal storyline, the player will uncover the truth behind the lies and evaluate what it means for their friendship. The romance focuses on an emotional connection between Val and the player character; While it contains mildly flirtatious dialogue and innuendo, there is no explicit content.


Please submit audition files representative of your best audio quality. The project contains mild swearing, mature themes, and a romantic component, so voice actors must be 18+. 


These are paid roles in the "suggested/high" tier from http://www.voiceactingclub.com/rates. The lesser cost of hourly or per line rates will be used. This is a fully self-funded passion project that is ready to record as soon as roles are cast, and I am prioritizing good quality audio and acting performance.

    I am incredibly grateful and impressed by the level of interest in this little Skyrim project. The quality of auditions was incredible, and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them. I particularly enjoyed the variation in accents and the ad-libs.

    There were many excellent auditions, and the final decisions on casting were not easy. In general, I was drawn to performances that had audio free of background noise, had excellent emotional range across the different lines, and had that certain flair where I could imagine the character speaking. I know that last is hard to decribe.

    As of now, all three roles have been awarded. Thank you again.

    Given the number and excellent quality of auditions received so far, I feel confident of being able to make a casting decision on all three roles fairly soon. The submission deadline has been moved a final time to 5/27 10 pm Eastern Time.

    First, a thank you - I am very excited about the interest Val has received! I am also most appreciative of the quality of the auditions that have come in.

    Now the update - I've shortened the audition timeline slightly from June 9 to June 2, at which point I will make a final selection for the three roles.

Val Serano, the lead role, is a 32-year old male Nord, a thief, a pirate, and a liar. This charming rogue is an extrovert who faces the world with his wits at the ready. While he would rather charm or outsmart his enemies, he does not shy away from a fight. Seeking baritone or deeper tenor, American or British Isles accents. The role has approximately 950 unique lines with potential for more in the future.


Audition Line 1 Context: Val lies often and convincingly. This is one of the first lies he tells the player, as he is actually a pirate.


Audition Line 2 Context: Val blames himself for the death of his best friend Fathis after he seriously wounded the other man. Here he is unburdening his conscience to the player, who has become his close friend and has just asked if he meant for Fathis to die.


Audition Line 3 Context: Val is confessing his love for the player after dealing with his commitment issues. The player has previously confessed their love for him.

Tarek Serano is a middle-aged Dark Elf and the primary antagonist. He is a ruthless pirate, a pathological narcissist, and the lead character Val Serano's father. Seeking American or British Isles accents but open to others. The role has 21 unique lines.


Audition Line 1 Context: In a confrontation with the player and Val Serano, Tarek initially has the upper hand. He is enjoying twisting the knife as he reveals the reason for another character, Fathis, having betrayed Val.


Audition Line 2 Context: Tarek has been defeated by the player but has lost none of his arrogance. He genuinely believes he's an excellent father and has kept his son strong. Or his son might one day prove weak and die. Either way, Tarek will sleep well at night.


Audition Line 3 Context: This line is frequently said by Val Serano to the player in a kind, friendly way. Tarek's use of it is said in a mocking tone, and is a sinister, dark mirror showing who Val could have been.

Seeking a "Male Nord Commander" voice impression for the existing Skyrim character Captain Aldis. The role has 9 unique lines. Quality and consistency of delivery is more important than getting the accent exactly right.


Audition Lines Context: Captain Aldis is approached by the player, who initiates this scene with the lead character, Val Serano. Aldis has previously arrested Val and doesn’t trust him, but also doesn’t have enough evidence to arrest him again.
