Umbra Link is a heavy WIP indie video game project following a group of young adults who can forge contracts with urban legends, demons, myths, and folklore entities in order to utilize anime-esque abilities by borrowing their power. This group is known as "Umbra Link", which shares its name with the contract system. Umbra Link is trying to gather "God Fragments", pieces of a godlike being that appeared suddenly years ago, before a group known as "Promised Land" does. It is said that whoever puts the being back together will be granted any wish.
The project is heavily inspired by Persona and Danganronpa, with a visual style resembling Octopath Traveler.
There aren't many requirements for the technology, just be sure to be 16+, have discord, and share your username in your audition!
Be warned the project does contain adult themes, but nudity is not directly shown and there is no explicit gore outside of some blood.
The series of Umbra Link is no longer going to be as it is currently. It's being completely reworked from the ground up. As such, I would like to thank those who auditioned, please consider auditioning for other projects I may release in the future.
Since this project is gaining a lot of traction, and development is moving slower than expected, the deadline for the character auditions will be extended to the end of June!
Luca Fern is the protagonist of Umbra Link. He's an edgy orphan who often finds himself in a lot of trouble, though always gotten OUT of it thanks to his girlfriend, Mari. He plays guitar in his J-rock band, and despite not being able to make a full link with an Umbra, has made a deal with an unknown Umbra of tremendous power. Luca is 21 years old, and has a deep yet energetic voice.
(Supportive) Your voice is nice, ever considered doing Vocals? I think you'd be good at it.
(Curious, slightly afraid.) This power... Just what are you...?
(Shouting) Asmodeus Lance!!
Mari Necrona is Luca Fern's girlfriend. She's a bubbly, energetic girl who hides a serious and incredibly intelligent side. She's often cleaning up after Luca and getting him out of trouble. She plays the bass in Luca's band, and she has formed an Umbra Link with the Umbra, Bloody Mary. Mari is 20 years old. She has a cheery, slightly higher pitched voice, but when she's serious it drops to being slightly sultry in tone.
(Energetic) Luca! We should go to the mall, we haven't had a date in a while!
(Angry) What the hell did you just say? Do you really think i'll let you talk to my Luca like that?!
(Shouting) Cursed Reflection!!
