Project Overview
Hello everyone! this casting call is for a short animation trailer for a future webcomic!
A short horror film about a diabolic carnival that takes the souls of whoever goes to it.
synopsis:
"If you're lost in the woods you may hear the enchanting melody of the carnival. but don't be fooled for that carnival is no ordinary carnival. and the man who runs it is no ordinary man. whoever goes to his carnival never comes back for he will take their souls to fill the empty gap in his soulless body.
some say he is a demon on earth a runaway soul on the run from death itself. a shadow lurking ... looking for revenge.
some say he got his immense powers by selling his soul to the devil.
But if you dig deep and ask the right people they'll tell you the truth
and the truth is this man sold his soul to something worse than the devil"

what I'm looking for:
I'm looking for the voice of a narrator who talks about the premise of the story.
below you can find samples of the type of voices I have in mind but don't let it stop you from auditioning. if you think your voice fits I will be more than happy to hear it!

deadline:
you have till November 6 to send your auditions. since this is a student film for one semester I don't have much time and would love to have your recordings as fast as possible.
the good news is it is very very short (101 words, less than 1 minute!) so you don't have to worry about overwork.
what I ask:
please submit clean audios and auditions. (no air conditioner, fans, or even room tones. as professional as it can be)
You can do as many takes as you want (I would appreciate it even) change the vibe and performance till you're satisfied with the results.
you can email me and ask me to send some pictures and concept arts of the film to get the vibe of it if you think it will help your performance.

I'm going to give some time for everyone to audition while I work on the storyboards and have a better grasp of the timing as well. so please be patient with me if I don't get back to you that doesn't mean I didn't like your voice I just want to give time to everyone to audition.
let's hear all your awesome performances! remember this is a dark story. we're talking souls, revenge, and contracts with beings worse than the devil people.

This is the voice of The narrator explaining the premise of the story. in my mind, they have a mysterious voice and can speak in a very intimidating way. something dark and cold. the vibe of the project is dark and mysterious so the narrator's voice should fit it but feel free to audition if you think you have other ideas and interpretations that fit the project.
the narrator is elegant, mysterious, and dramatic, they are telling a story and they evoke emotions in the audience and captivates them.
I have put some description of what I imagine the tone of the dialogues to be, but again, I am no voice actor and I am fairly new to this so if you think you can perform it in another interesting way please feel free to do so!

I imagine the male voice to be serious and formal but at the same time able to captivate the audience.
the payment will be in Canadian dollars.
(this part the narrator speaks in a mysterious way. like they know something the audience doesn't ...)

(this one is in a way cruel and angry. emphasis on the "revenge")
a shadow lurking ... looking for revenge
(the tone is warning and mysterious. it's the finale! the conclusion!)

(this part is as if the narrator is sharing a secret with the audience.)
but if you dig deep and ask the right people they'll tell you the truth
and the truth is this man sold his soul to something worse than the devil
