Project Overview

☆ Welcome to Stellarstruck! ☆

We’re proud and excited to introduce Stellarstruck, an original series that explores the lives and relationships of planets, moons, and other celestial bodies. In this universe, the objects of our solar system are imagined as human like entities, complete with their own cities, societies, and governing bodies, all with a unique blend of storytelling, science, and astronomy. Our goal is to deliver a compelling narrative that brings real science to life in fun, imaginative, and unexpected ways. We’re on a mission to bring this world to life, step by step, by assembling a diverse team of talent, including voice actors, artists, writers, and musicians!


Requirements:

  • Must be 18+.

  • Ability to deliver clear, expressive dialogue with emotion and nuance.

  • Access to mid to high-quality recording equipment.

  • Reliable communication and availability. Main communication method will be via discord.

  • Have basic knowledge of both the character(s), space, the premise of the show and what you are signing up for.

Important Notes:

  • Right now, this series is a passion project, funded entirely out of pocket. Because of that, our current rates for talent are lower than we’d like, but our long-term goal is to secure proper funding and increase wages as the project grows.

  • This project is protected by copyright.

  • There are currently no NDAs at the moment, but that could change in the future as the project continues.

  • More characters will be added here as they are introduced. Because of this, this project will be updated and extended as needed.

  • Selected voice actors, writers and artists will receive full credit for their work.

  • Payment will be provided for each video, comic, and/or script you contribute to, with rates based on the length or complexity of the work. Payments currently range from $15 to $40.

    • For example, voice actors earn around $15 for shorter videos, while larger roles can go up to $40. Similarly, artists receive $15 for quicker pieces like sketches, while more time-intensive work, such as comic strips or panels, falls into the higher range.

    • Payment is non-negotiable at this moment due to the nature of this project.

  • This project will be uploaded to the Stellarstruck YouTube channel. For smaller pieces, they may also be uploaded to the Stellarstruck Twitter as well.

  • By submitting your audition, you acknowledge that you are willing to volunteer your time and talent for this project. It is on-going, so there will be multiple sessions needed when more pages are made.

TLDR; Must be 18+ with basic knowledge of the series and space, reliable communication, and (for voice actors) access to good recording equipment. This is a self-funded passion project with modest pay ($15–$40 per piece, non-negotiable) and full credit for all contributors. Work is protected by copyright, may be uploaded to YouTube/Twitter, and auditions acknowledge that this is ongoing work with multiple sessions as the project develops.

    Hello everyone!

    Hello all!

    I want to start off by once again thanking everyone who submitted. When I say it was incredibly hard to make our choices, I truly mean it. You are all extremely talented individuals, and we can’t thank you enough for showing such strong interest in this project, it truly means the world to us!

    We also want to congratulate those who were chosen for roles! You’ll be reached out to with follow-up information soon so we can get the ball rolling.

    For those who didn’t get the roles or positions they wanted, we want to extend our deepest gratitude for the effort you put into your submissions. This was by no means an easy decision.     Hello all!

    First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who auditioned for this project! I know I’ve said it a lot these past few weeks, but I truly am honored that you all took the time to audition and reach out to me about this project. It really does mean a lot to me and the team. You all showed up and showed out, and we never expected it to blow up the way it did.

    Secondly, because of the sheer volume of auditions we’ve received, we’ll be making our choices within the next few days. We want to make sure we sort through everyone’s entries thoroughly and fairly.

    Lastly, I’d like to remind everyone that this project page will be updated after each audition period. Jupiter is a 38 year old domineering father figure who believes that order and power equate to safety. He’s convinced that his size and strength entitle him to lead both his moons and those around him. To him, this way is the best way, and if you don’t follow it or believe in it as well, you can leave. Beneath that hard edge, however, lies deep insecurity and the scars of his chaotic past, which fuel his obsession with dominance and stability. His softer moments do exist, but they’re rare, fleeting, and usually reserved for private moments with his moons. His voice should carry the weight of his presence: deep, authoritative, and with a savvy New Yorker or Brooklyn accent. It should have a smooth, almost charming quality when he’s manipulating or trying to sweet-talk, but with an undercurrent of menace that can quickly erupt into sharp, booming intensity whenever his authority is challenged.

Saturn is a 35 year old maternal mentor figure and essentially the Solar System’s caretaker. Her aura embodies warmth, patience, and responsibility, often stepping in as the steady, unofficial "second in command" to the Sun. She’s the “momma bear” of the system, protective of her moons and fiercely nurturing toward strays and outsiders. While she presents herself as calm and composed, her strictness and occasional grudges reveal the weight of everything she carries on her shoulders. Beneath her poised demeanor, Saturn struggles with guilt over past failures, particularly during Jupiter’s chaotic years, and other unresolved issues, leaving her both fiercely protective and quietly resentful of the Solar Committee. Her voice should sound warm, caring, and motherly, but with a commanding edge. She should be able to shift easily between tenderness and stern authority, reflecting both the comfort of a safe haven and the firmness of a strict parent. Though often soft, flashes of sass or sharpness can break through, especially when dealing with Jupiter or anyone who threatens her moons. (Saturn is a Black-coded maternal figure. For authenticity and representation, we’re prioritizing Black female voice actors for this role.)

Pluto is a 20 year old sensitive and self-doubting figure, caught between the weight of her past identity and the struggle to accept who she truly is. Once recognized as the ninth planet, her demotion to dwarf planet status left her feeling rejected and unworthy, shattering her fragile sense of self. Though she is a rather resilient figure and deeply loyal, she is timid and emotionally vulnerable, often clinging to the reassurance of others, especially her largest moon Charon. Despite her insecurities, Pluto has a quiet strength and an empathetic heart that surfaces when she pushes past her fears. Her voice should carry a soft, emotional quality with a slightly wavering or fragile undertone. At times, she should sound small or hesitant, as if she’s trying not to take up too much space, but her voice should also have the capacity to swell with genuine warmth or quiet determination when she finds those rare moments of courage. (Pluto is a trans fem-coded individual. For authenticity and representation, we’re prioritizing trans female and queer voice actors for this role.)

  • (Confused; awkward chuckling) Dwarf planet? I-I mean, sure, I’ve heard of them, but what does that have to do with me? I’m... I’m just a regular planet, like the rest of the main system.

  • (Trying to contain her panic but failing) I don’t understand! Charon, Charon, do you think I did something wrong? Did I do something wrong?! What could I have possibly done wrong?! I stay in my orbit, I-I leave everyone alone, I don’t bother anyone! I just… I don’t get it!

  • (Gentle; quiet; trying to be encouraging) I’m not sure if this means much to you, but I liked reading your story. I thought it was r-really nice, personally. Um… I’m sorry no one else seems to agree, but at least now you know someone does enjoy your writing, at least.

Charon is a 20 year old vibrant and supportive moon. She can almost always be found hanging around her planet and best friend, Pluto. She’s the more outgoing of the two and tends to do most of the talking in their duo due to Pluto’s natural timidness around others. While Charon can be loud and boisterous with other people, she always knows how to calm down and be the supportive shoulder Pluto needs when things aren’t going well. She enjoys connecting with nearby moons and even some of the other dwarf planets, going on different outings when she’s not with Pluto (though Pluto has no idea, since she has never even thought to ask Charon where she goes when she's not around). Her voice should reflect her vibrant personality, with hints of bubbly energy, but also the ability to tone it down when she needs to step into a more supportive role.

Europa is an 18 year old moon, the fourth largest of the Galilean moons, and arguably the most mature of the four despite being the youngest. Because her father runs their orbit and planetary system like a business, she is often seen as Jupiter’s secretary, handling the finer details of the family “business” and communicating with clients that Jupiter may not have time for. She isn’t very talkative, but that’s because she lives by the rule of listening first and thinking carefully before speaking. Her voice tends toward a more monotone style, but the subtle inflections it carries are light and professional, reflecting how she carries herself in her day-to-day life.

We are currently seeking 2–3 writers to join our team and contribute to the development of our animated series. Writers will play a key role in brainstorming ideas, co-writing scripts, and shaping the interactions that bring our characters and stories to life. Because the series is rooted in astronomy and space, a foundational knowledge of these topics is required, as many characters and interactions are inspired by real celestial objects and topics.
Responsibilities include crafting dialogue, structuring scenes that artists will later visualize, and providing clear script direction to help voice actors during dubbing. Compensation is set at $15 per three pages of script, written in Google Docs. As this is scriptwriting, please note that the format leans heavily on dialogue and action cues rather than long narrative paragraphs.

Phobos is the older of Mars’ two moons at age 12. He’s bigger, bolder, and always the first to leap into action, even if he hasn’t completely thought things through. Outrageous at times but relatively good natured at heart, Phobos is full of energy and enthusiasm. He’s especially close to Mars, though his impulsive nature often makes him the perfect cover for his younger brother Deimos’ schemes. Deimos is the planner, Phobos is the doer. His voice has that playful, mischievous kid quality, but he loves slipping into silly, over the top voices just to get a laugh.

The Sun is a 40 year old caring, (mostly) gentle mentor who always tries to put his planets first. On the surface, he carries an air of leadership, determined to guide and protect his system, but underneath he struggles with self-doubt and the weight of responsibility. It's rather often that he fakes confidence for the sake of his planets, doing his best to hide his anxieties from the universe. Despite these flaws, his compassion and warmth make him a steady presence for those around him. His voice should be bright, friendly, and reassuring, with the ability to dip into hesitance when he’s unsure, and shift into a loud, booming tone when his emotions finally crack.

Deimos is the younger of Mars’ two moons, an 11 year old who may be small, but usually the brains of the duo. While his older brother tends to draw more attention, Deimos is the quiet mastermind, often using him as cover for their schemes. Not that he’s a troublemaker, just a clever kid doing clever kid things. Most of his plans revolve around convincing Mars to let them stay up later or go on more adventures across the solar system. Think somewhere in the realm of a clever little brother character: energetic but not hyper, smart but not arrogant. Almost like a mix between a young strategist and a playful kid.
