Star Wars: Republic Season One (#50 - #58) Advance Auditions

Star Wars: Republic Season One (#50 - #58) Advance Auditions

Project Overview

Until I begin the *actual* casting call for the first Season of Republic Comics, I will be running this Casting Call for any of the major characters I would like to get cast before everyone else.

Please be aware that the majority of these characters will be recurring, so I will require your commitment to playing them.

When these issues are (eventually) completed, they will be released on the Krayt Dragon Films channel on YouTube.

Enjoy!

Obi-Wan Kenobi
open
Unpaid

Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi is Anakin Skywalker’s master and one of the foremost Jedi Generals in the Clone War. In the two Months since the Battle of Geonosis, Obi-Wan has become one of the greatest strategists and leaders in the Grand Army of the Republic.

Obi-Wan will be a recurring character in the Republic Comic Dub Series.

Should be played as close as possible to Ewan McGregor’s portrayal; though a James Arnold Taylor-esque performance would also be acceptable.

  • Do not trust to visions of the future, my young
Padawan. Keep your mind here and now. Master Yoda has noted that lately your
mind always seems to be somewhere else.

  • Thanks to information gathered by Quinlan Vos
and Aayla Secura, for the first time since the Battle of Geonosis we know where
the Separatists intend to strike before they attack.

  • He doesn’t always listen. He rarely ever talks.
    He’s impatient, he’s restless, he’s moody, he’s arrogant. He’s … difficult,
Quinlan. Since Geonosis, it’s as if a chasm has opened between us. There has
been no time to stop… sort things through…

Anakin Skywalker
open
Unpaid

Anakin Skywalker is Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Padawan learner and is on his way to becoming one of the most powerful Jedi in history. At this time, Anakin is still reeling from the death of his mother and his slaughter of the Tusken Raiders on Tatooine.

Anakin will be a recurring character in the Republic Comic Dub Series.

Should be played as close as possible to either Hayden Christensen or Mat Lucas’ portrayals; though a Matt Lanter-esque performance would also be acceptable.

  • Threepio, do you copy? We’re about ten
kilometres from the Gungan settlement. Still no life signs…

  • Does it bother you that the other Jedi just call
you “The Clone”? I need to call you something else… you need a name.

  • Captain Gillmunn… the Republic is fighting on
fronts in hundreds of systems across the galaxy. Our forces are stretched thin
and we need every trained soldier on the front lines… You and your followers
have been loyal to the Republic. But I can’t leave my troops here to die.

Master Shaak Ti
open
Unpaid

Jedi Master Shaak Ti is a high-ranking General and a member of the Jedi Council on Coruscant. Two months after the Battle of Geonosis, she is stationed on Kamino to oversee the production of the next batch of Clone Troopers.

Shaak Ti will be a recurring character in the Republic Comic Dub Series. Should be played similar to her portrayal in The Force Unleashed.

  • We haven’t lost yet, Lama Su. While Jedi still
breathe, we will not abandon Kamino.

  • A Terrible thing, to lose those you love, especially
for a Wookiee. I know something of your sorrow, my friend. What peace I can
    give, I give to you.

  • Shaak Ti to Plo Koon. Begin withdrawing. Have
Master Kolar retreat or surrender as he sees fit. This is my last communique
    for now.

Battle Droids
open
Unpaid

The Battle Droids are the Mechanized Infantry of the Separatist Army. You will either be very upset, or very happy to learn that the Battle Droids only very briefly appear every now and then in the series, and don’t actually have any speaking roles – but nonetheless, I would like to have someone to provide additional dialogue and background chatter for them.

The Battle Droids are (Sort of) recurring characters in the Republic Comic Dub Series.

Should be played similar to either Ben Burtt’s voices from The Phantom Menace; Matt Wood’s voices from Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars; or David Collins’ voices from Republic Commandos and Battlefront II Classic.

  • Check it out Corporal, we’ll cover you. Roger,
    Roger.

  • Reinforcements being depleted.

  • Ad Lib whatever you damn well please.

Alpha 17/Clone Troopers
open
Unpaid

Alpha 17 is an ARC trooper Commando who works closely with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Clone Wars. Unlike other Clones, Alpha has not received any programming or genetic alteration, and therefore is more like Jango Fett than the others.

Alpha 17 and the Clones will be recurring Characters in the Republic Comic Dub Series. Whoever is cast as Alpha will also voice all other Clones in the Series.

  • You’re not defenceless. You’ve been trained for
this. Grab the Nearest weapon and get ready for - - Incoming!!!

  • I have not worked with Jedi before, but I was
    led to expect… more.

  • We don’t have enough recon for this attack,
but it’s your mission. What are your orders, General Kenobi?

Master Sora Bulq
open
Unpaid

Sora Bulq is one of the most renowned Jedi Swordmasters, and has been responsible for the teaching of Lightsaber forms for decades. In the months since the Battle of Geonosis, Bulq has become distressed by the rapid militarization of the Jedi Order, and has formed a Cabal of like-minded Jedi who would prefer to not be involved in the Clone War.

Sora Bulq will be a recurring character in the Republic Comic Dub Series. As Sora is a Weequay, he should have some variety of a Regional English accent, and he should be played as wise, yet fierce.

  • Master Windu. Welcome. I apologize for the poor
hospitality of my family’s estate. Being a Jedi, I had no for it before now. I
have set Droids to cleaning and repairing a portion of it.

  • I couldn’t talk. My heart was too full. Almost
every Jedi who died on Geonosis I had trained at some point. They died to
preserve the Republic, and I am not sure the Republic is worth that. Until I am
sure, I thought it best to absent myself.

  • I was reluctant to say anything, but… There is
wisdom outside of Coruscant. I worry that the council sees what it wants to see
and will act as it has always acted.

Asajj Ventress
open
Unpaid

Asajj Ventress is Count Dooku’s Sith Apprentice and one of the top Agents of the Separatist Alliance. She was once a Jedi Apprentice, but walked away from the Order after her Master’s death before being found and trained in the ways of the Dark Side by Dooku.

Ventress is ruthless, sadistic and evil – almost irredeemably so.

Asajj Ventress will be a recurring character in the Republic Comic Dub Series. A performance similar to Grey DeLisle’s or Nika Futterman’s would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I would prefer to cast an Original take on Ventress based on the skill of the performance.

  • You have power, boy, but you will not use it.
Your rage… Call on it. Focus it. Use it. I am not your enemy. Join me.

  • I emerged from misery and suffering… only to
find the Jedi I had once worshipped are nothing but weak, misguided fools.
Count Dooku speaks true… the Galaxy needs a Jedi Purge!

  • You were easier to break than I expected.
Welcome to your Dark Side, Obi-Wan Kenobi…

Master Jeisel
open
Unpaid

Master Jeisel is a Devaronian Jedi who joins with a group of other Masters who feel dissatisfied with the Jedi Order’s involvement in the Clone War.

She is a fearless warrior, though she only fights to protect – not to kill.

Jeisel will be a recurring Character in the Republic Comic Dub Series. She should be played as fierce, yet quiet and calm most of the time.

  • And how many deaths – Jedi and Non-Jedi alike –
will be “Necessary” to end this war?

  • Rhad, I don’t know what she did to you, but…
come back. Don’t walk this path.

  • I won’t join the confederacy, but my objections
still stand. The Republic is corrupt. I don’t know how we can serve it without
    being corrupted ourselves.

Zule Xiss
open
Unpaid

Zule Xiss is a Jedi Padawan (and later Knight) who works closely with Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi during the first months of the Clone Wars. Zule is fierce in battle and has a short temper, leading some to believe she may be tapping into the Dark Side while in combat. In her second appearance in the series, she has been fitted with a prosthetic left arm after losing her organic one in battle with Asajj Ventress.

Zule will be a recurring character in the Republic Comic Dub Series. She should be played as mostly quiet and sarcastic, though with barely subdued rage when she is in battle.

  • (Straining) “This probably won’t kill you … but
    it should leave a mark!”

  • (Annoyed) “Warble, if you talk the entire trip,
I swear I’m going to use my rusty fingers to rip out your tusks.”

  • (Calm, yet worried) “Okay, I’ll stay. At least
this way, I won’t die in a Cantina brawl like the council predicted.”

Durge
open
Unpaid

Durge is a near-immortal Bounty Hunter who has recently joined the Separatist Alliance as an enforcer. He mainly works as Asajj Ventress’ bodyguard, but does so primarily so he can hunt as many Jedi as possible. He is a psychotic, bloodthirsty monster and is virtually impervious to the attack of any “Meatbag”.

Durge will be a recurring character in the Republic Comic Dub Series. He should be played with a booming growl of a voice (heavy effects and pitch shifting welcome) and fiercely enjoys what he does, which should be expressed in his voice.

  • You know, it’s been over a century since I
killed a Jedi; and today, I get to kill four of you.

  • Nice try, but I’m a walking Nerve Cluster. I can
feel your heartbeat from two hundred meters away. You can’t sneak up on me!

  • May the force be with you, Meatbag.

Master Agen Kolar
open
Unpaid

Master Agen Kolar is an Iridonian Zabrak Jedi Master, and a member of the Council. He is one of the greatest warriors and trackers of the Jedi, and is regularly employed on Covert missions for the Republic.

Agen Kolar will be a recurring character in the Republic Comic Dub Series.

As there have only been two Iridonians without American accents in Star Wars Media – Sugi (Female, Turkish Accent) and Eeth Koth (Male, Indian Accent) – I would prefer for Agen to be played with a Turkish Accent, though Indian is also acceptable. (Annoyingly, CCC doesn't have Turkish on the drop-down list)

Agen is a cool-headed leader and strategist; he should be played as mostly calm and rational.

  • Quinlan Vos. In the name of the Jedi Council, I
have been sent to bring you back to the temple on Coruscant. I urge you, as a
    brother Jedi, not to resist.

  • I find it hard to believe any Jedi would betray
another. I haven’t always liked your methods, true, but I thought you loyal.
Your reports, lately, however, have been very critical--

  • Pursue the girl and apprehend her. Take her back
to our ship. We’ll question her later. I’m going after Vos.

Kass Tod
open
Unpaid

Jedi Padawan Kass Tod is one of a group of young Jedi present at the Battle of Jabiim. She is calm and introspective, and in her time with the “Padawan Pack” has taken the on role of leader. She is close friends with Anakin Skywalker, and despite her loyalty to the Jedi code, she has secretly begun a relationship with Mak Lotor, one of her fellow Padawans.

Kass has had no previous portrayals in Star Wars Media, so feel free to make the part your own. As she is an Iridonian Zabrak, Kass could be played with either a Turkish or Indian accent; in this case, I would prefer Indian, though Turkish is also acceptable.

  • When did the Separatists start using mines?!
    Nobody move!

  • I’m not even going to pretend to make this
decision for us. What does everyone want to do?

  • Okay, then it’s decided. But I promise we’re
going to bury Alto Stratus before we bury each other.

Aubrie Wyn

Padawan Aubrie Wyn is the youngest member of the Jabiim “Padawan Pack”. The majority of her Jedi Training focused on her becoming a Healer, though fighting on Jabiim has forced her to step up to a more militarized role.

Aubrie has had no previous portrayals in Star Wars Media, so feel free to make the part your own. Any accent is acceptable, so long as it sounds natural and not forced.

  • He’ll live, Master. Only to fight again, you
    know.

  • We lost three more forward positions, and if we
don’t get these supplies to Cobalt Station soon, we’re gonna lose another.

  • I wasn’t supposed to die here… I was supposed to
train with Master Windu, on Coruscant. My Master said I was destined for the
    Jedi Council…

Commander Alto Stratus
open
Unpaid

Alto Stratus is the Leader of the Jabiimi Insurgents, and has allied his cause with the Separatists to bolster his army. His official goal is for Jabiim to become completely independent from the Republic, while secretly he also wishes to exterminate all Jedi on the planet.

Stratus should be played as a roaring, dictatorial Warlord; and should sound as if he is addressing an army every other day (which he is). I have decided that all Jabiimi should have West European accents (Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese or Belgian) as none of these have really featured in Star Wars Media before.

  • For three thousand years, we were loyal to the
Republic. But did they send aid during the Brainrot plague? Did they react when
    the Trandoshans invaded?

  • The storm is scrambling all sensors. We
strike now. We won’t get another chance. Move in!

  • Recall all of our forces. Every unit you can
signal. We’re going to regroup – and then we’ll raze Cobalt Station to the
    ground!
