SAKURA WARS FANDUB PROJECT
Series Overview: Sakura Wars is a Japanese “cross-genre” game, combining the tactical rpg, visual novel, and dating sim genres together. Originally released on September 27th, 1996, Sakura Wars is praised for its visuals, gameplay, and story and was a commercial and critical success, becoming one of the best-selling games on the Sega Saturn. However, the game was not released outside of Japan, and here I’d like to dub the series to give it a bit more recognition, the game was fan-translated as of December 15th, 2019 and I would like to use that script and the gameplay to make a fandub of the game.
Plot Overview: In 1923, Imperial Japanese Navy Ensign Ichiro Ogami is transferred to the Imperial Combat Revue, a secret combat unit based in Tokyo. Meanwhile, swordswoman Sakura Shinguji arrives from Sendai as the Assault Force's latest recruit and meets Ogami at Ueno Park. Traveling to the Grand Imperial Theater together, Ogami meets the team's main actresses: Sumire Kanzaki, Maria Tachibana, Iris Chateaubriand, Kanna Kirishima, and Kohran Ri. The theater's manager Ikki Yoneda tells Ogami he has been assigned as an usher. Initially bemused and hurt by his assignment, it turns out to be a bluff to decide his worth. The Imperial Combat Revue also functions as a theater troupe called the Imperial Revue. Central to the unit is the Flower Division, the Imperial Revue's main actresses, who use their spirit powers to defend Tokyo against demon attacks using steam-powered armor called Kobu.
The game is told in episodic format, and the story has a bit of a cheesy, Saturday Morning Cartoon vibe. A theater troupe living a double life, where they’re a performance troupe, acting out stage plays one moment, and when demons attack, they spring into action, fighting off enemies in their Kobu robots. complete with the characters posing before and after a battle, and after each chapter the game gives you an episode preview of the next chapter.

You can audition for as many characters as you want, but please note that if you are cast, you’ll only be cast for one role.
Please have a good microphone quality. Well treated USB mics such as the Blue Yeti are good, XLR mics are preferred however. HEADSET, PHONE, OR LAPTOP MICROPHONES OR ANY BACKGROUND NOISE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
