Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Fandubs

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Fandubs

Project Overview

Hi! Sooooo back in 2016 I did a series of Persona Ultimax videos. But for personal reason I've been inactive in the community for just under 2 years.

No that I'm back my videos...they haven't aged very well. Most of my cast have either moved on to professional projects, or don't voice act anymore. So I've gotta cast the majority of the roles.

HOWEVER! The following roles have been reprised by their VA's, these roles are;

-Yosuke Hanamura

-Yukiko Amagi

-Naoto Shirogane

-Labrys

-Aigis

-Akihiko Sanada

-Yukari Takeba

-Elizabeth

All other main roles are open for auditions.

HOWEVER! (again!)

The following roles I won't be casting at the moment as they don't appear in the videos I'll be doing.

They are;

-Ken Amada

-Rise Kujikawa

-Margaret

-Marie

If you've got a question, or would like some feedback - just shoot me a PM!

I'd show my previous work...but like I said it hasn't aged well...

Do your best and have fun! And let's stay positive!

cast offsite

Yu is voiced by Daisuke Namikawa in the Japanese version and Johnny Yong Bosch in the English version.

Yu is the main protagonist of the story, and the protagonist from Persona 4. He fights with a Katana and his Persona Izanagi.

For his voice, I'd like a mid to deep pitched take!

In the Persona 4 Arena duology, Yu is also shown to be a fairly sarcastic and witty person, occasionally making jokes at the expense of the other members of the Investigation Team; however, for the most part, he is shown to be the most mature member of the group (an example of which is the fact that attempts to target his personal insecurities by enemies, more often than not, fall flat). He has a sharp mind, and is able to quickly realize the trick behind the tournament that forces the group to fight one another. He deeply cares for his friends and one of the few ways to truly anger him is to threaten either them or Nanako which causes him to become very cold. He also has a great understanding of the bonds of people, which lead Aigis and Mitsuru to realize that despite their different appearances, Yu reminds them of the protagonist of Persona 3. He trusts Yosuke completely and generally understands him best out of the entire Investigation team and vice versa. This continues the theme that the anime established that in the entire Investigation Team, Yu and Yosuke are closest with each other and generally lead the team side by side, as well as discussing plans with each other on serious issues.

  • Let's settle this! GO! PERSONA!

  • I'll face you as many times as you keep standing back up!

  • People can do it. As long as they can open their eyes and look around, they'll see it. They'll see the truth!

Role assigned to: minybeats

Chie is voiced by Yui Horie in the Japanese version,Tracey Rooney in Persona 4 and Erin Fitzgerald in all other English releases of Persona.

Chie is from Persona 4, and one of the Investigation Team. She fights with kung-fu and her Persona Tomoe.

For Chie's voice, I'm happy with either a high pitch super energetic voice, or a deeper super energetic voice.

Chie is energetic and outgoing, the "extrovert" compared to Yukiko being the "introvert." She has a bright and upbeat personality, often trying to cheer up the group by joking about the case. She can be somewhat short tempered, especially with Yosuke, and is slow to back down from a challenge.

  • That was a great fight! Looks like you drew out my hidden strength! Thanks!

  • Joke about it all you want, but it's the meat that beat you! It's the source of my power!

  • The people back then, the things they did, their culture... it's all connected, and it's tied to me too.

Role assigned to: projectalpha22

Kanji is voiced by Tomokazu Seki in the Japanese version, Troy Baker in Persona 4/Golden/Arena  and currently Matt Mercer.

Kanji is from Persona 4, and one of the Investigation Team. He fights a chair and her Persona Take-Mikazuchi

For Kanji's voice, a deeper and intimidating voice, strong and manly, but he does have a softer side.

From the start, he was known as a delinquent. When he was in middle school, he destroyed a biker gang and his notorious fame as a wild person spread to every corner of the countryside town. Although people mistake him as a member of a biker gang or as someone who likes violence, he actually does not have even the tiniest inclination to be violent. When he strongly denies the side of him which enjoys "feminine" hobbies like sewing or knitting is pushed to the extreme, it unexpectedly established his position as a juvenile delinquent. He drapes his school uniform over his shoulders in a punk-ish style to emphasize the atmosphere he wishes to embody. He acts out against any authority figure, but speaks politely to the protagonist and his other seniors. However, when he gets flustered and wants to threaten people effectively regardless of the circumstances, he occasionally gets into fights and scraps. Despite his seemingly rough personality, it is often due to misunderstandings. For example, he once went after a rowdy biker gang, but only to stop them from disturbing his mother. He obeys his strict curfew or his mother will make a fuss.

  • Alright...! I'll show ya what in means to be a 'real' man!

  • Let's do this in style!

  • What the hell do they mean? Beefcake?

Teddie

Teddie is voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi in the Japanese version, Dave Wittenberg in Persona 4 and Sam Riegel in all other media.

Teddie is from Persona 4, and one of the Investigation Team. He fights a chair and his Persona Kintoki-Douji.

For Teddie's voice, something super duper craaaaaaaazy!

Being a comic relief character, Teddie is usually bubbly and cute and is known to lighten the mood when investigating the case, much like Chie. Possibly due to being a Shadow unfamiliar with the human world, or perhaps due to being a cartoon bear, Teddie has a lot of childish naivety, innocence and is pure of heart. He doesn't know a lot of human customs, does not know what "scoring a hot stud" means or what a "manwhore" is. This results in him having a lack of social boundaries, such as when he flirts with Chie and Yukiko, although he fails every time. In the beginning of Persona 4 The Animation, he acts much like a coward when Shadows are near, but changes his ways as the story progresses.

  • Doesn't matter how far apart we are. The bonds we've made will remain strong!

  • Heehee, I'm strong after all! I'm a champion!

  • You have a lot to learn before you can win against me! I accept rematches 24 hours a day!

Role assigned to: aensland

Mitsuru is voiced by Rie Tanaka  in the Japanese version and Tara Platt in the English version.

Mitsuru is  from Persona 3. She fights with a rapier and her Persona Artemisia.

For Mitusur's voice, a powerful, deeper woman's voice.

Mitsuru is calm, confident, mature, responsible, wise and very intelligent despite being a high school student. However, she may be interpreted as slightly arrogant, conceited, or overconfident. As events unfold, this may be a front of maturity due to her assumed role as the leader of SEES. Her Persona Arcana is the Empress, which fits with the "motherly/older sisterly" role she plays in the group.

  • Execution Queen, hm? Not an honourable nickname by most perspectives, but it's not all bad.

  • Prepare for your execution!

  • I will prevail!

Role assigned to: regacman

Junpei is voiced by Kōsuke Toriumi  in the Japanese version and Vic Mignogna in the English version.

Junpei is  from Persona 3. He fights with a baseball bat and his Persona Trismegistus

For Junpei's voice, a goofy laid back mid pitch voice.

Junpei is usually portrayed as goofy, perverted, immature and upbeat. He fancies himself a ladies' man and frequently tries to hit on girls, with little to no success. Despite this, he is capable of being kind and caring, and he often cracks jokes and calls people "dude" to make them feel better. After school, he is seen reading manga or playing video games which are his hobbies.

  • What the hell do you mean by that? You think this is a joke?

  • When the going gets tough, the tough get going!

  • Playtime's over!

Aigis

Role assigned to: blueheartphoenix

Aigis is voiced by Karen Strassman in the English Versions of Persona and Maaya Sakamoto in the Japanese versions.

Aigis is a robotic, however she has a personality so she shouldn't sound too stoic, but should still speak like a robot!

Aigis' initial personality is simply a robot designed to obey orders, although she is drawn to the protagonist and states that it is very important for her to be by his side, going so far as to hug them in front of everyone. Her desire to protect the protagonist is so strong, in fact, that she was able to overcome Ikutsuki's programming and free the entire team from their shackles, when Ikutsuki had attempted to sacrifice them to bring forth the Fall. As a result of having no emotions, Aigis' social skills are more-or-less non-existent; it's frequently noted on-screen that while she may look human, she is far from passing as one. She is prone to doing very strange and socially unacceptable things, such as breaking into the protagonist's room to wake him up and requesting to be on standby in their room, which Yukari calls her out for. A video recording shows that she has a habit of breaking into his dorm room at night in order to check on him, even going so far as to keep a record of how long it takes her to pick the lock, In Falling Down, she even goes so far as to sneak into the boy's rooms during the group's stay in Kyoto, claiming it was unfair that she and Makoto weren't in the same room. Lack of social grace notwithstanding, Aigis is nonetheless very polite to everybody, always using the honorific '-san' when addressing them. In the original Japanese version, she ends her sentences with "de arimasu" prior to developing emotions.

  • I am called Aigis. I am the last remaining Shadow Suppression Weapon, made to exterminate Shadows.

  • It seems that my sister is safe. But who on Earth could have caused her to run wild like that?

  • Who are you? Are you a Persona-user like us? No, you do not seem to have the ability to wield a Persona...who are you?

Tohru Adachi

Role assigned to: deleted47856

Adachi is voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch in the English version.

His true nature is that of a sadistic misanthrope who manipulates others for his own amusement, acting as if everything was a game and doesn't seem to care about the consequence of his actions. He believes that there was nothing great about the real world, calling it "boring," "shitty," "dull" and "annoying as hell" to him. He views his reasons for what he's doing as justifiable, saying that he wants to save and prevent humanity from the pain, suffering, boredom and despair of life.

Later, in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, he retains his habit of taunting the cast, but also retains his cheerful, nonchalant attitude. The actions of the Investigation Team appear to have made an impact on him as well; he is very adamant in trying to atone for his past crimes and shows an immense amount of selflessness by attempting to destroy the Persona Fragments that Sho had collected and assisting Yu in defeating Hi-no-Kagutsuchi. In addition, although Adachi won't admit it out loud, he genuinely values his friendship with Dojima; smiling when Dojima came to visit him in prison and almost losing his temper when the middle-aged detective began insulting him.

  • Relax, kids, the police are on the job. See you!

  • *sigh* What a pain in the ass.

  • Let's just get rid of the stupid world.

Sho Minazuki

Role assigned to: MattWellsVA

Sho is voiced by Todd Haberkorn in the English version.

Sho opperates behind 2 personalities; Sho (who acts like your everyday stuck up teen) and Minazuki (who is cold and dark) Be sure to make a distinct between the two voices!

Due to careful grooming as a child test subject in Persona-related experiments, Sho is a young man with a vicious streak and a lust for fighting. He is puerile, caustic, extremely volatile, and easily bored. Through Shuji Ikutsuki's influence, Sho developed a habit of making puns. Raised in near-isolation, Sho was never properly socialized, and thus finds it difficult to relate to others in a typical fashion; combat is ingrained in him as his primary means of social connection, but this is not a tendency that serves him well among ordinary people.

Sho is highly misanthropic and wishes for a world in which only he lives. Ever since Ikutsuki "threw" Sho away as a failed experiment, Sho developed a deep mistrust of others' intentions, eventually doubting the authenticity of any and all human bonds, viewing them as a crutch others cling to when they're too weak to stand alone.

Minazuki is a second soul that inhabits Sho's body, born of a Plume of Dusk embedded in Sho's brain. He is composed, methodical, callous and manipulative, while also being protective of, and entirely devoted to, Sho. Both individuals are aware of one other, with Minazuki able to communicate with Sho as a voice inside his head. Minazuki is also able to possess Sho's body, generally reserved for times when Sho is in some sort of peril or unstable state of mind. Sho has no memory of anything that happens while Minazuki is in control.

ProfileEdit

Role assigned to: natepeach

Yukari is voiced by Michelle Ruff in the English version.

Yukari's Arcana is the Lovers, which focuses on balanced, connected relationships with others and important choices; as such, her personality and story revolve mainly around her relationships. She is very popular in Gekkoukan High due to her kind nature and cheerful, positive outlook on life. However, her kindness has its limits, as she's prone to mood swings and getting annoyed over trivial things, often expressing this annoyance with sarcasm. Even though she and Junpei are friends, they seem to clash more often than not, with her even giving him an insulting nickname ("Stupei, ace defective") and asking him if he's "stupid or something." Her hobbies include archery, being a member of the school archery club and wielding a bow in combat, and acting for drama, and she eventually makes a career of being an actress as Pink Argus. Her favorite color is pink and she has a fondness for cutesy things such as her heart choker and secretly has a maid uniform.

  • Aahaha, I won! And I'll be sure to win next time too!

  • Ugh, you're still the same old regular Junpei. I'm amazed that you haven't changed into someone cooler.

  • We Featherman NEVER lose to villains! Soar wings of love! Phoenix Mode!

Marie is voiced by Eden Riegel in the English version.

When Marie is first met, she seems to be a very cold and antisocial individual. She is sullen, cranky, sarcastic, irritable, very foul-mouthed and often prone to mood swings. She will not hesitate to voice out her opinion or express her thoughts, regardless of how it would make everyone feel. The team is also weirded out when she politely apologizes, commenting that she never seemed like the type who would say sorry.

  • You dropped this. Here you go...ugh, whatever, all I did was pick it up.

  • I'm Marie. Margaret gave me that name.

  • Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? DID YOU SEE THAT!? ARGH! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THIS!

Margaret
open
Unpaid

Margaret has two English VA's, however I prefer Michelle Ann Dunphy, who voiced her in Persona 4, Golden, Arena and the Animation.

Margaret is a professional and quiet individual, and significantly more mature than her younger siblings Elizabeth, Theodore and possibly Lavenza, although she shares Elizabeth's sense of humor. However, she does show an angry side to her in Persona Q when Theodore accidentally gets her hair wet. She is highly concerned about the relationship Elizabeth established with the protagonist of Persona 3, as she decided to leave the Velvet Room in order to find a way to rescue him from his fate. This also makes it clear that Margaret is highly loyal to her master Igor.

  • I am Margaret, and welcome to the Velvet Room.

  • It's a shame that we must cross paths like this...NOW! Give it your all - I won't hold back!

  • Even if you move away, you should always remember that the bonds you have forged will stay strong, and never get broken.
