Hello!
We’re adding partial voice acting to our commercial visual novel “Our Life: Beginnings & Always”. It’s a slice-of-life story with comedy, romance, drama, and many wonderful memories to make. The main game has already been released (you can read more about it HERE), but we’re working on adding a brand new epilogue. That’s where this new role comes into play.
A main feature of OL is that you get to live through four different periods of life: childhood, adolescence, teen-aged, and adulthood. They’re referred to as “Steps”. The one role we have open is for the final time period; adulthood.

Other Notes:
A special option in the game is to pick a name for the playable character that has voice acting along with it. Each name needs only one take but in a few “tones”. A large part of this job is going to be just saying different names in the different tones.
The VA doesn’t have to identify as the same gender as a character in order to audition for that character.
Our Life the game is for general audiences, but the company Patreon will be releasing a bonus event that’s rated 18+ (for sexual content). The extra scene will include adult-aged characters only, be completely unvoiced, a separate download from the real game, and won’t release outside of the Patreon. So it’s not a true part of the game and it requires no contribution from VAs, but there is suggestive content that exists in relation to the Our Life series.
Auditioning:
Please have clear audio with no background noise.
Please don’t edit the pitch of your voice or add other alterations. General clean-up is okay!
Two to three takes are preferred, but not required.
Our Life is a low-key story, the character speaking style is down to earth. We don’t require extra oomph that a more energetic/comedic project might.

Cove is the main love interest of Our Life: Beginnings & Always. He’s known the protagonist since they were both eight, they have a lot of history together. He’s generally laid back and self-assured, though quickly gets emotional when it comes to romance and sentimentality.
This character already has VAs for younger versions of himself. The Step 4 voice will need to make sense with his prior Step 3 voice-

(Casual, normal, polite. It’s just a typical greeting.)
“I don’t know. Maybe it’s embarrassing or even sort of dumb, but...”
(Bashful, somewhat awkward, but he’s still in good spirits. He’s happy with his silly choice)
