Heya! So when working on my first original animated film, I thought it was a one-time thing, but then I realized there's so much potential to tell theses stories about these Yokai creatures, so I immediately started working on a sequel. So for the sequel, we'll be including tons of new characters, and I'd like to bring in VAs to play them!
Synopsis: One year after the events of "Nothing Unusual," Asumi has been experiencing nights where she struggles to concentrate or get any rest. When she DOES manage to sleep, she hallucinates about her mother, Khayme Mayako. However, a new Yokai is wandering through the fields of Tokyo: the Dorotabo. This humanoid demon made of mud and waste is on the run from the Yokai Search Department. The Dorotabo seek revenge on the people who neglected their farmlands and transformed them into mangled scarecrows. Now, a worn-out Asumi will confront her strong new foe, but it turns out that the Dorotabo knows a lot about her and her father - Unobo. Will Asumi uncover the truth about her father, or will she let her trauma and failure consume her?

The Dorotabo is the main antagonist of the film. He is the vengeful ghost of an old man who was passionate about his rice fields before his death. Rising from the mud, he returns as a humanoid Yokai made of waste from the neglected fields. The Dorotabo is an angry, greedy, and ignorant monster who seeks nothing but revenge on the people who disrespect the rice fields around Tokyo.
(Shaky) For centuries, I had to see the fields in Tokyo get neglected and wasted away over and over again. I'm going to put an end to all of it...
(Sinister) Your hiding something ominous inside you. I can see it with my own eye. Sooner than later, you're going to suffer like I have.
(Fury) GIVE ME BACK MY FIELDS!!
Fuyu is a kind-hearted Yuki-Onna - aka Snow Woman. She's known as a caring mother to her late son and a reliable leader in her group. She uses her kindness to warn nearby people about the dangers of winter, even when some people are afraid of her.
Don't worry, honey. We'll just pick up a few things, and we'll head back in time for dinner.
(Angry) You don’t understand! I've seen Yokai topple villages, and ruin lives! They're trying to kill you!
(Sad, quiet) It's okay, Kozo. It's just --I feel so... incomplete -- So cold... I've failed to keep a promise, and I can't turn back...
Kozo is an intelligent Hitotsume. Think of him as a Yokai Sherlock Holmes. When things go wrong, he often serves as the voice of reason. He doesn't need two eyes; he can still see with just one.
We tracked its energy. It has to be around here... (annoyed) And for our sake, don't get yourselves involved with any more threats...
(Welcoming) Well, this is quite a surprise! It's a pleasure to meet you, Asumi.
(Amused) I've noticed you've been out of the shadows lately, Miss. Tanuki.
Unobo Hikaeme is the late father of Asumi Mayako. He's unique as he believes in doing the right thing for everyone around him. Not much is known about him, until now.
(Offering) Need any help?
(Desperate) Despite... everything, I love Khayme. I like to think about what things were like before... Back when she wanted to change. She hurts me, I know, but I can’t just let her go. I know she's hurting too.
(Confident) I have to try. I know there's goodness inside Khayme, I just... Have to find it.
Claudia Wane is a professional investigator and soon to be next in line to control the Yokai Search Department. Although Claudia takes her job seriously, she can also be approachable to even the fragile Yokai she confronts.
(Impressed) it's quite impressive of you to do, Asumi. I haven't seen anything like that in years. I believe you did the right thing.
(Remorseful) That poor girl mentioned how crying hurts her, so she stopped until she couldn't feel tears.
(Muttering) Maldito monstruo.
Mura Dere is the mother of Karita Dere. Mura was once a soldier in the Yokai Search Department. She's a sweet person, and also an inspiration to her daughter.
(Assuring) We'll make sure Asumi's in good hands. Who knows, maybe she'll grow up to be even stronger! (chuckles)
(Surprised) Well I'll be damned!
Murasakiiro Dere is Karita Dere's father. She was once a solder for the Search Department, along with Mura, where they first met. He's best described by Karita as a tough dad.
Honey, we believe Asumi can still accomplish greater things, even when you're not around.
(Amused) What did I tell you? That long-neck is full us surprises.
Seta Okumura is the main director of the Yoaki Search Department. He's middle-aged-elderly (about 62?) He's stern, as he is committed to his job being the head director. Although he plays a small part in the film, we'll see more of him in the possible future.
(Clears Throat) Please, just call me Okumura. I'm Head and Director of the Yokai Search Department.
You were very brave for what you did that night. Ever since then, The department has been scrambling to stop whatever might come next, whether it be a second chaos or not.
Theres 125 million people counting on us and the department. So please, step up to your obligation!
