Project Overview
Hello! I'm an animation student looking for voices for my student thesis, here's what my thesis is about!
The Moth, The Myth, The Legend is a story about two rival bug treasure hunters, Harvey Moon and Vixen Faux, fighting for victory in this month’s treasure hunting competition. The two bugs let their rivalry get the better of them, resulting in both of them getting into a tricky situation. Now, they must work together in order to make it through this competition. The genre is comedy with a bit of drama!
This is my animated Student Thesis so all work is unpaid! All work will be credited in the credits of my film! This is also my first time using CCC so please be patient with me!
The short film is still in early production! Voice actors will receive the storyboards and script via Google Drive! Chosen voice actors will also be invited to a discord server where I will post updates on the film's development!
This Casting Call is also cross-posted onto my Tumblr @ Bugology, Submissions from there and here will both be taken into consideration when picking voice actors!
NOTES
You don’t need to have prior VA experience for this!
These characters are tiny bugs with big emotions so I’m looking for theatrical/dramatic but still in the realm of natural-sounding
Please have clear audio with little to no background noise!
Not required, but I encourage multiple takes with variation!

PROTAGONIST ROLE
Harvey Moon is the most popular treasure hunter in the garden and he knows it. He loves the attention and he can often be found signing autographs for his fans. He talks in a gentle but confident tone, he knows he’s quite the heart-throb! He often over-exaggerates and acts dramatically.
Being the son of the previous number one treasure hunter contributed to his passion for treasure hunting-- It’s more than just a legacy to fill. He is determined to be recognized for his vigor and dedication to the sport.
Vixen Faux is his primary rival but Harvey doesn’t take her seriously. To him, she's just trying to make a name for herself by picking on him. He’ll entertain her and play along with her antics just for fun.

PROTAGONIST ROLE
Vixen Faux is a competitive treasure hunter always looking to take home the gold, she speaks with a bit of a roughness in her voice. Time and time again, her victories have been ruined by her greatest rival, Harvey Moon.
Her increasing losses have only fueled her rage and jealousy. She dreams of sweet, sweet revenge, she’ll definitely show Harvey who those victories rightfully belong to.
From the compost bin, she’s had to climb her way to get to where she is. She’s driven by her desire to win and finally be able to be recognized for the skilled bug that she is.
But, the only thing stopping her from reaching the top is the number one popular treasure hunter, Harvey Moon, a cocky moth who will not stop rubbing his victories in her face.
She has one swearing line in the actual script.

MINOR ROLE
They’re a cicada and the treasure hunting competition announcer! They talk like a gameshow host and their voice can be masculine or feminine. They play a minor role and they only have about 3 lines.

It’s all about the energy! All these lines are relatively enthusiastic

MINOR ROLE
A little newsbug bee that hands out the newspapers in the morning! They only have 1 line. Their voice can also be either masculine or feminine!
