Magical Otoge: Ciel Fandub

Project Overview

Introduction:
Story
Ciel, the protagonist, is a princess who has never been allowed to leave her kingdom. Along with her loyal knight and bodyguard and (unknowingly to her) a certain third/fourth wheeler, she decides to follow her dreams of seeing the world.

It's a very pure story so expect fluff, but know there is mild blood for a short time in the game! Also, beware of the many puns in the game. I'm warning you now so you don't want to... punch me (as in the creator, Baten) in the face later.
You can unlock Yvin's route after finishing either Florien or Anton's!
This game is extremely straightforward, so there's no walkthrough necessary.

Requirements:
You must...
-Have a high quality mic. Use of phones or headset mics are not allowed.
-Be 13 or older
-Be comfortable with live directing
-Get in lines on time. This is a given, but you never know.
-You are free to do multiple takes of each line (max of 3)
-Have a discord.

The scripts are already written, so it'll just be on you to deliver the lines.

PS: For the character voices, please audition for whoever you'd like. Depending on the amount of people auditioning, there may or may not be double casting, but most likely only one role will be given to each person.

  • UPDATE

    Hello to everyone following this project. I'm honestly very baffled and surprised by the amount of auditions for this project and I thank everyone so very much for your participation! [I mean.... 350+!??!?!?!?!?!??! WHAT THE HECK?! O_o] I have expected the supporting and lead characters to be popular but the SLIMES!!! I didn't think the slimes would be as hard to choose as it is! XD Anyways, the main message. I want to let everyone know that the deadline is till the end of today, 12 pm at whatever your time zone is. I will not be accepting auditions past May 31st, and the reason why I extended the deadline by one day is to indicate that May 31st is the FINAL day to audition. Any auditions past that day (unless you've communicated with me beforehand) will NOT be accepted and rejected immediately. [PS. Starting June 1st, I will start the elimination. Good luck to everyone, and I will DEFINITELY post future projects if you'd like to audition for my projects again!] Thank you once again for your interest. <3

Ciel is a very energetic and positive girl. She's adventurous and can sometimes run into troublesome situations without realizing it. Despite her carelessness of herself, for the sake of her two knights, she tries to not run into danger that often. She's very caring of others with a strong sense of justice.

What I expect: Mid-high. She's a normal girl who tends to be on the energetic side.

Game Description:
Florien: Ciel's childhood friend and knight who is set on protecting her, but also supports Ciel's independence just wants her to be happy. He's kind to Ciel, but is sarcastic and cold to almost everything else. He hates puns.

He's also tries to be somewhat formal, even if he is more open about his feelings than the other love interests. Even while being a blushing mess, Florien still has a little bit of business-mode in there.

What I expect: Mid-high range, more on the mid side. As mentioned in the description, he's formal in his speech and somewhat business like. He's very sarcastic and is easily embarrassed or annoyed.

  • Florien: (polite) Sorry to keep you waiting, Princess.

  • Florien: (polite) Yes, well… Like I said, I am your knight, after all.

    Florien: And the orders of a knight’s master are law.

    Florien: (slightly worried) Also, I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I just let you go on a reckless journey by yourself.

  • Florien: (flustered) Lady Ciel, are you really fine with this!? You’re going to be sharing a room with… with…

    Florien: (shout) Two men!?

    Florien: It's... indecent!

Game Description:
Anton: Florien's older brother and captain of Amarine's royal knights. He's always calm, cool, and professional, but cares deeply about Ciel and is more of a sincere person than he seems.

Anton is also very formal and he keeps a straight and stoic face most of the time. He's known for his unintentional intimidation, and he's always looking out for Ciel.

What I expect: Mid-low range. Calm and gentle, but not emotionless.

  • Anton: (reassuring) Remember that if you ever need anything, the Royal Knights are here for you.

    Anton: (neutral) Although I would prefer if you called on me, if possible.

    Anton: I trust the members of the Royal Knights, but it would give me a peace of mind nonetheless…

  • [Talking to King Johannes]

    Anton: Please calm down, sire.

    Anton: First of all, I request that you rescind the order you gave to the Royal Knights to search for the Princess.

    Anton: Because of our policy of keeping the Princess’ identity a secret, the order is too vague and will cause suspicion.

    Anton: (impressed, but neutral) Hm. Good form, Florien. You’ve been keeping up with your training, I see.

Game Description
Yvin: A clever and witty traveler (not a thief) who ends up following Ciel and her adventures from a distance. It may not seem like it on first impression, but he likes helping out people.

Yvin is very punny and mischievous. He usually has a smirk on his face and easily makes enemies with Florien and Anton. There are times where he has a suave façade, and then things mess up and he goes to his normal voice.

What I expect: Mid-low range. Don't be too overboard, but a lot these lines are up to interpretation. Try things out.

  • Yvin: (casual) Oh, you probably think I'm a bandit or something.

    Yvin: (slightly offended) Please, don't associate me with ruffians. I take a bath every day if I can.

    Yvin: (slightly smug) I'd like to think I'm a... classy ruffian. I'm not quite so rough. You could even call it 'smoothian.'

  • Yvin: (notices a slime) Hm?

    Yvin: (annoyed) What do you want, loser?

    Yvin: You know you’re the lowest of the low in monster hierarchy, right? A five-year old could end you with a toothpick. Get lost.

  • Yvin: (accidentally bumps into Ciel) Hm? Oh, excuse me. I don’t pay attention for a second and this is what happens.

    Yvin: Usually people move out of your way when they notice you’re not paying attention.

    Yvin: (slightly amused) But it turns out we both weren’t. Well, I guess if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

Ais is purely a side character, but a pretty essential side character in Ciel's growth. He helped her open up about her true feelings, and she to him. He's a very gentlemanly and poised individual who (even when teasing) has a straight and composed face. He reveals his true self and acts a lot more natural when he's alone with Ciel. He's a well-known magician in Viern and unintentionally very popular with the ladies.

What I expect: Mid-high range. I'm flexible with what kind of voice range, but act very polite and collected with your delivery.

  • Ais: Yes, it’s--

    Ais: (mock surprise) Oh, wait a second…

    Ais: Miss, it looks like you…

    [Ais pulls out a flower from behind your ear!]

    Ais: (smooth) ...Had something in your hair.

  • Ais: (polite) A pleasure to meet you.

    Ais: My name is Ais, but you might have known that already.

    Ais: I do magic tricks like the one before all the time.

  • Ais: But it’s already been six years since the mansion sealed off…

    [But what's sealing off the mansion?]

    Ais: Hm…

    Ais: (smirk) Who knows?

    Ais: It may be a ghost, for all we know.

    Ais: (mysterious) ...And it probably is one.

Ven, despite his appearances, has lived a very long time and is a wizard who can only use his magic for harmless things, and cannot do anything directly, whether it's good or bad. He wishes the best for Ciel and is very friendly and acts like a guardian angel.

What I expect: Mid-high range for his natural voice. He's supposed to sound like a young boy, but acts wise. However once he's in his Fortune Teller disguise, his voice changes. Feminine and masculine voices alike can audition for him!

  • Ven: (friendly) I wanted to help make some good memories of your adventure.

    Ven: (casual) Did I fail?

    [Of course not!]

    Ven: (bright) Really? I’m glad you think so!

    Ven: (slightly worried) At the very least, I hope you can leave here with good memories…

    Fortune Teller Ven: Haha… That hurts, Florien.

    [Florien never told the fortune teller his name... must have heard it somewhere]

    Fortune Teller Ven: Are you sure about that? I can list your bust, waist, and hip measurements, too.

    Fortune Teller Ven: Oh, and Anton…

    Fortune Teller Ven: No need to scowl like that.

    Fortune Teller Ven: Come on now, you’ll never get anywhere with her if you keep frowning like that.

Johannes is the king. He lost his wife and kid already, so he's very overprotective about Ciel. Despite that, he's a really good king. He's very very stoic and strict, but he still cares.
