Hello there! My group and I are on the lookout for a talented voice actors to bring life to our upcoming one-minute animation teaser for a school project.
THE STORY SYNOPSIS
In a world devoid of colour and joy, Lily’s life is overshadowed by profound sadness due to the loss of her brother Dion. One stormy night, a mysterious duck-like creature from the “world of colour” emerges, seeking Lily’s assistance in remedying the corruption that feeds on negative energy and is responsible for the greyness in her world. To defeat this malevolent force, they search for the “box of colours.”
Lily and the enigmatic creature, named Theon, venture into the vibrant “world of colour,” where they face creatures that have already been corrupted, embodying her suppressed grief: denial, anger, bargaining, and depression.
Ultimately, in her quest for the box of colours, Lily confronts the painful chapter of her past—the loss of her beloved brother. Everything revealed is a creation of Lily’s mind: Theon, a manifestation of Dion; the world of colour, co-crafted by Dion and Lily; and the enigmatic “box of colours,” which is actually a cardboard box full of cherished childhood memories from Lily and Dion’s shared imaginations. It’s a tangible representation of acceptance Lily had to find within. Initially, Lily was too afraid to reopen it, fearing that it would serve as a stark reminder of her loss.
Presenting the box to her parents, Lily actually finds solace in its memories, reuniting the family in shared grief. As she unlocks not just the box but also her heart, Lily cherishes the love and memories she once shared with Dion, finding healing in the process.

The character, Lily, embodies the traits of a shy yet curious 11-year-old girl with a soft-spoken voice. Having experienced the loss of her brother to leukemia, Lily dwells in deep sorrow, clinging to the belief that her brother might return. This grief propels her into a fantasy world where she navigates the five stages of grief while hopefully seeking to save her lost sibling.
Lily is an insecure girl, and due to this she gets quite shy and reserved. She gets discouraged in the face of challenges. However, even after her brother died she’s still kind, honest and helpful.

Theon is an enthusiastic duck, his recklessness often surpassing his own confidence in the face of challenges. This duck is a fantasy manifestation of Lily’s (the protagonist) deceased brother. Theon’s unbridled optimism propels Lily forward. In difficult circumstances, he reminds her of the brotherly encouragement that still resides in her heart.
Theon is the polar opposite of the protagonist Lily who’s more reserved and shy. Theon is optimistic, and confident but can be quite impulsive and unpredictable. Theon serves as the comedic side character. Even though he is a duck, we do not want him to have a goofy duck voice. His voice is more like that of the deceased brother of Lily who was 16 years old.
