Juvenile Delinquests (Ep.1) | Extras/Goblins still open! Music Roles available

Project Overview

Welcome to Juvenile Delinquests, the animated series that follows three teens living in a modern-fantasy world and making do. These teens will come across situations as large as quelling an enraged dragon tearing through a local carnival, and as small as making sure a convenience store doesn't get ransacked by goblins.

PLEASE READ BEFORE AUDITIONING!

This is a series that will hopefully be fully animated, with myself doing the brunt of that work. What I'm looking for are people that can help speed up the process, and provide voices to fully flesh out the concept. I very excited to work on this, and I hope I can capture your interest as well! You might notice that this project is unpaid, that's because I simply do not have the money to fairly and equally compensate everyone who's working on the project. My goal is to make this a short series, and hopefully set up a patreon or something similar to gather money for the voice actors and others working on the series. This is all to say, this isn't the project to come onto for 100% chance of getting paid.

To help keep everyone coordinated, it's required you have a discord and are able to join a server I'll be making for the project.

To the voice actors, there's a few guidelines to help you audition. I'd love to have a 2 to 3 takes of each line listed, each one exploring the line differently in intonation and voice. You should do the takes for the first line, then move on and do a few takes of the next line, and so on. Also, I greatly value the actual quality of the voice acting over being able to do a specific voice quirk or nuance, however if you are able to meet all of the requests and have a good performance, it's a huge plus. If you aren't as comfortable with a certain voice detail or want to try something different, that's where multiple takes would come in handy.

Music Producers are something I would love to have, but are not essential as I have music I can use. If I bring on someone or a group to do music, I'll have to go more in depth and work with them on that process, but generally as I am not a big music person, I would be working off of giving motifs and ideas to help build the song conceptually. From there, I would rely on the musicians to flesh that out.

An animatic is in progress! Once I get voice actors all set up and the animatic is complete, I can share the early first episode.

I look forward to working with you awesome people!

  • Role Closing Confusion.

Hey there y'all, there's been some confusion on the whole closing the main roles thing, let me clarify that nobody has been cast for the role yet. I AM picking from the auditions that have already come through for the roles, I simply closed them because I have gotten many many responses already, and I know things get very busy near the deadline.
  • PLEASE READ: Closing Main Character Roles

Hey, I'm Jesse, the creator of Juvenile Delinquests. I've received so many wonderful auditions, and I've begun the callback process on main roles for episode 1. It says cast to offsite actor, but I'm letting you all know that it will go to someone who auditioned here, they are just closed to save me time in listening to all of these auditions. Thanks for reading!

Role assigned to: Lee/Langle

Alexis is one of the main characters of the series, a nervous but cheery satyr. Her voice, similarly to her personality, is cheery and peppy, but also unsure, her voice is a little more shy than the others' but definitely not unsociable.

  • (Cheerful) Hold on guys, I gotta help out this customer. Be right back!

  • (Worried) Uh, guys? There's a bit of a problem in here...

  • (Overwhelmed) Make sure they don't take too much... or break anything.

Miko is the strong, bullheaded half-giant of the group, he's easily excited and protective of his friends. For Miko I'm looking for a deeper, more masculine voice. That being said, it should have a lot of energy as he is often excited and pumped up, and talks somewhat like a stereotypical jock.

  • (Pumped)Yo Basil, do something cool!

  • (Aggressively)What's wrong? Someone making trouble?

  • (Shocked)AH AH HEY, that hurts! Get off!

Basil is the bored gorgon of the group, they enjoy skateboarding and chilling out with their buds. Basil is non binary, so they can be voiced by anyone with a mid-tone voice, either a lower feminine voice or a higher male voice works. As mentioned, the tone of their voice is almost always somewhat bored or low, so even when there's an exclamation or an intense situation it should be kept relatively down low. As a bit of a voice quirk, I think it'd be fun to have a slight lisp, but nothing over the top. A good reference would be Raven from Teen Titans.

  • (Bored) I can't do a kickflip, I can only ollie.

  • (Surprised) Hey, give me back my phone!"

  • (Explaining) They aren't dead, it'll wear off in a few hours.

This is for people who either think they don't fit the mold for the main cast or just want to be a part of the project on a smaller scale. I'll be picking through this list for people I need for the future, so it's worth it to try!

  • Go ahead and send in an example of your best work!

This is a role for anyone who'd like to play one of the many goblins in the first episode. All I'm looking for is a shrill, nasaly voice, the rest is up to you!

  • Do some grunts, giggles, sniffs, and other reactionary sounds that might be heard in the background

  • Looks like meat's back on the menu boys!

  • If you'd like you can do a little improv

For this project, I know a theme song or general motif that plays in each episode would help unify the series and set the mood. If you apply here, I will look through and pick one to a few artists that I think would be great for this gig. So far I know I'd like a somewhat grunge-rock song with crunchy base, I'm thinking about lyrics for it as well.

  • Say something you think would fit
