Playboy Britt Reid Jr. has lived a frivolous life of luxury. But when a mysterious figure from the past brutally and publicly murders his father, all of that changes. Now, driven by a thirst for vengeance and guided by two generations of Katos, this one time under-achiever will find those responsible and take his father's place as Century City's greatest protector - The Green Hornet!
A decade ago, Kevin Smith in his own words "pussed out of making a Green Hornet movie". This movie was set contemporary times, (2010) and starred the 2nd Generation of heroes within Century City. Unfortunately, Smith backed out and the rights were passed to someone else, and the movie with Seth Rogen was made.
Upon being approached by some friends of his, he was able to turn his Green Hornet script into a full blown comic book. Now, 11 years later, I'm turning the comic book into a comic DUB.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PROJECT:
1. Be prepared to commit! This is not going to be multi year project (I pray) but I expect full commitment to the role if you are cast, especially if you one of the big 3 (Britt, Mulan or Hirohito).
2. I have no preference between XLR microphones or USB microphones, but I do have a preference towards good mic quality. Please have little to no background noise and reduce peaking and plosives as well.
3. Discord is a requirement as the lines will be distributed through it and communication will be done through a server.
GUIDELINES FOR AUDITIONS:
1. You may audition for as many characters as you want.
2. If a character has a specified head canon voice, please try to replicate said voice. Additionally, if a character has a specified accent, you must do the accent for the audition. If neither is specified or its loosely described, you're free to go with your gut!
3. Please put your Discord tag in your audition description.
4. Just in case anyone asks, you are not required to slate.
5. If you are cast for an extra role(s), you are not required to join the server since all of the lines you will be saying are in the audition. I will use that line for the final product so if you audition, please give it your all like you're going to be in a production.
6. Please no troll auditions.
Most of all, have fun! This is supposed to be a fun project with wild action and fun humor as it is a Kevin Smith product.
Break a leg, VAs!
The son of the infamous Green Hornet, Britt starts out as an immature brat who doesn't know or care about what he is doing with his life. But when Britt learns of his fathers secret past after witnessing his death, he decides to take up the mantle of the Green Hornet to pick up where his father left off when crime begins to get bigger.

The daughter of the legendary Hayashi Kato, she is the stern but deadly chauffeur to The Green Hornet in a similar manner to her father from decades before. While giving a cool but aggressive demeanor, she is still very new to the realm of the vigilantism and in some ways, similar to Britt, isn't ready for the fight ahead.

Son of the Yakuza Boss Oni Juuma, Hirohito is a passionate young man with a burning hatred for the Green Hornet, who locked his father away years ago. This hatred sometimes gets in the way of the business conducted by his father Oni Juuma. Now, he's back as the shadow of the former vigilante. As Hirohito however, he is an brilliant video game designer...more than likely a front.
As the Black Hornet, the voice will be distorted slightly as not to tell it is Hirohito. You do not need to do any sort of distortion effect to your audition.

The ye old Kato of lore, after years of absence, he returns to Century City after Britt Reid Sr's unfortunate end to help mentor the new Green Hornet and his daughter to be the new protectors of Century City.
Auditioning for this role means auditioning for both Young Kato from the prologue of the 1st issue, and Old Kato from the rest of the series.

As Kato was originally played by Bruce Lee in the original 1966 tv series, I would prefer a voice as close to Bruce Lee's voice as possible. A former Yakuza Boss, Oni Juuma is the father of the Black Hornet and does not trust his son to solve the problems he needs solved. He is a calm collected man at times, but that doesn't mean his temper is not short when it comes to his business.

A cousin of Mulan Kato, Clutch is an extremely skilled mechanic and a valuable ally to Team Hornet. He is a bit of the comic relief at times.

The Mayor of Century City. He's not exactly the brightest bulb considering he keeps employing bad tactics to ensure reelection. He is an old friend of Britt's, one of the only to know his former identity too.

The original Green Hornet, Britt Reid has grown a little isolated in his old age, not able to connect well with his son much after his wife died. However, he is still as snarky as ever.

A gangster operating a rising crime syndicate hoping to make it big in the world. He is later thwarted by Kato and Britt.

I always imagined the guy to be a kinda giant satantic wasp or something--swooping down from the sky to capture bad guys. Then I grew up. The new guy may have changed colors, but not species. Green Hornet, Black Hornet -- Either way, it's just some guy in a mask.

In Yakuza culture, The Waka-Gashira serves as the second in command and the middle man for the leader of the Yakuza. This man is the Waka-Gashira for Oni Juuma.
