  • Uh..here's the thing Emma. I gotta be honest with you. When we looked at your resume, and saw that you were from England, Jonathan and I got pretty excited you know? Also please don't tell anyone this but our ratings aren't the best right now. We're hoping that people will want to listen to someone with a different accent because let's face it all the accents in this hemisphere just suck okay?

  • Do you think that you could say something in your native tongue for us? (speaks in bad Cockney) 'Ello there! You are watchin' the Groveswood Morning Show!

  • If you can speak in your native tongue, and go back to your roots like that show where they go back to their roots the job is yours!

Side character

Mockumentary type humor similar to The Office.

He is into crystals and aura cleansing. He is an older character that gets frustrated and upset easily. He and David don’t get along very well. Voice needs to be deep and serious

  • I really think that if we can get the funding we should really look into creating a shop. A place where our viewers can buy things to support our show! Like posters, keychains...or mugs!

  • (Nancy has gifted him a crystal that she does not use anymore. She did not cleanse it.) Oh wow! Thank you this is so incredibly thoughtful! You're right! I've always wanted one of these! (small pause) You did remember to cleanse this though right?

  • (talking head similar to The Office) I guess I do believe in signs. Not like the occult or anything like that. I do tarot readings, and I enjoy reading horoscopes. When I was ten I had my palm read by this fortune teller who told me that I would get rich and famous. I ended up going to her several times over the years. Turns out she wasn't really a fortune teller at all. She was just scamming me for money. I lost like ten thousand dollars.

  • I moved here about ten years ago, so I've kind of lost my accent.

  • (British accent) Hello, you are watching the Groveswood Morning Show here in Michigan reporting live from the studio.

  • (talking head similar to The Office) I had to really work on losing my accent when I first moved here. I thought the accent was pretentious or something because I could not make any friends. I learned that it wasn’t the accent at all. I just actually have really bad social anxiety. I went on a double date once and my date spent more time talking to my friend instead of me. Halfway through the date, I fell into a huge pile of mud..face first. Someone I didn’t even know who was not on the blind date ended up having to help me because I couldn’t get back up and I got mud all over him. Yeah…it was awful.

Likes the finer things in life.

Enjoys a glass of merlot.

Is a reporter that cannot keep up with current events.

Likes the classical taste.

  • Well, who is it this time? Is it that guy from that one band that I don't like? I told you that I prefer classical music, and not that loud screeching sound. It sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

  • So you're firing me because I'm getting older? Are you serious? Nancy, she's like sixty five and she can barely read anything anymore unless you push it right up to her nose and you're firing me?

  • (Talking head similar to The Office) One of my favorite things to do in the winter is to attend the annual Groveswood Pine Tree Festival. (long pause) However, I did end up getting pine sap all over my couture coat. I ended up having to give it away... What a waste.

  • I've told him several times before and I don't want to say it again but those lights are too damn bright! I keep squinting during the show and it's making me look manic! Someone needs to do something or I swear I'll quit!

  • (Talking Head similar to The Office) I've been working here at The Groveswood Morning show now for about twenty years, and each year I keep telling myself, this will be the last year, and it never is. I'd like to work on films, but a small show like this..its fine. (small pause) it's fine I guess.

  • I didn't get where I am by tying someone else's shoes. I tied my own damn shoes, and then I learned how to walk in heels, and never looked back. Although...I also have plantar fasciitis from walking in stilettos so that's not great... but you know..no pain no gain!! (small pause) ugh..who am I kidding? Its all just a load of horseshit.

  • (Talking head similar to The Office) Nancy has been on this show longer than I've been alive. She always complains about everything. The set is too hot, the set is too cold, the microphone is going to hit my head…actually that was partly my fault I paid the boom guy to try to brush her head a few times with the mic.

  • I think he's already left for the day, but I'm sure you can send him an email...or you know....you could just wait until he is back in the studio tomorrow like everyone else.

  • Oh hey...I guess I'll show you around. It's not like I have anything better to do or anything.

  • Hey, are you busy on Friday night? I would love to take you out to this poetry slam. It's pretty great actually. The last time I went someone almost took all of their clothes off.

  • (Talking Head) I really want to ask Emma out on a date. I have always wanted to have a girlfriend. Especially one that was from England. Man...Tom would be so jealous. (Chuckles)

  • Testing, testing, is this on? Ah yes I see the light. Okay…will have to cut that.. (clears throat) My name is Drew Jones, and I am going to be meeting with Jonathan Samuels, the director of Good Morning Groveswood.

  • Yeah..my Professor said that he wanted us to push our creative limits, and I thought, well what better way to test the limits than by not using a camera?

  • Yeah..I probably won’t be talking much. I just wanted to provide an explanation to the class and my Professor before they listen so they know what to expect. If I am going to be speaking with someone individually, I will play a little tone like this.
