On-Camera Scifi Story Narrator for Large YouTube Channel
Project Overview
MALE OR FEMALE WELCOME
We're a YouTube production team behind an established science fiction audiobook channel. We're expanding into a new video format — on-camera narration — where the narrator is visible on screen throughout the story, with cutaways and visual edits layered on top.
We're looking for someone who combines a compelling voice with a strong on-screen presence, and has the setup to back it up.
What you'll doNarrate science fiction stories on camera
Deliver clean, expressive and engaging reads
Set up and manage your own recording environment for each session
A strong, engaging narration voice with clear diction and good pacing
Comfortable and natural on camera — you should be able to hold attention visually
A visually appealing recording space: living room, home studio, or similar — something that looks intentional
Good lighting — ring light setups are acceptable, but a more cinematic or ambient look is a plus
A high quality camera — 1080p minimum, 4K preferred (DSLR, mirrorless, or high-end webcam)
A quality microphone with clean, professional audio
Previous YouTube narration or on-camera experience preferred but not essential
You must already own or have access to a quality camera and microphone
Additional equipment (teleprompter, extra lighting, secondary camera) may be funded by us depending on your setup
You'll need a dedicated space you can consistently record in — the same setup each time
Familiarity with science fiction storytelling
An existing setup that already looks great on camera
Genuine enthusiasm for presenting — this format works best with someone who enjoys being on screen, not just behind a mic
Read the audition script in the job listing so we can hear your voice
Please include your discord in a comment or spell it out in the audition
If succesful please be ready to do a video audition so we can see your on camera setup

She had told Leo as much during a late-night message exchange, which for her was midday on the moon, and for him was three in the morning in his uncle's shipyard office where he slept on a cot between engine parts. "I would rather float through open space without a suit," she had written, "than spend one more day pretending I care about the grain tariff disputes of the Third Clan Collective." Leo had responded with a picture of The Stumble mid-renovation and written: "I have a ship. It barely works. Want to see the galaxy?" She had said yes before he finished typing the question mark.
